Shadow slid in and out of the shadows as she made her way into the capitol.
Lucas was close by, she could feel him, but she didn't have time to worry
about him. This plan had been undercover for the last week. The plan was
simple, go in and assassinate the leaders in the city. Why? Because they
were becoming rebellious. They had been warned, and they were out of
chances. GeoTech was going to put their own men in but only after their
leaders were killed in broad daylight. The leaders were split into into two
rooms, Shadow could kill all of them, but not before panic spread to the other
room, so that's why she had brought Lucas along.

She entered the room, watching the clock, The two of them were going to
plan this perfectly, and as the clock struck the appointed time she attacked,
slipping out of the shadows in full form. "Who are you?" One asked, Shadow
smiled coldly without answering. One man's eyes widened in recognition at
her. "She's..." He started, but never finished, he was the first one to go,
followed swiftly by the other 4. When she had finished she slid back out as
easily as she had come.

She made her way to the edge of town, Lucas arriving a few minutes later
with a nod, their mission was done. "Go to the ship and let them know they
can send their men in now..." She told him, Lucas nodding and disappearing,
Shadow turning to look at the city as panic started to break out.

Shadow usually would of sensed Kokiro long before he arrived, today however,
her mind was distant as she watched the city start to break into chaos. She
turned to look at him as she heard his voice, surprise flashing through her eyes.
"Why don't you go ask the city officials? I'm sure they're DYING to tell you." She
told him with a cold laugh, glancing back at the city.

Shadow laughed, "Some good you can do." She laughed, "Either way our men
will move in and take control of the city in it's chaos." She told him, there was
something about the way spoke, her words weren't as carefully controlled, as
articulated as they normally would be. "Me? What do you care?" She asked
him, narrowing her eyes. "You left remember, worry about you're own knights."
She glared, his caring attitude irritating her.

Shadow narrowed her eyes, "What are you talking about, you never cared..."
She glared at him. "You might have all your knights fooled, but it's not going to
work on me, SO DON'T LIE TO ME." She glared, without a moments notice a
dagger flew at him, just brushing past his face and landing in the tree behind
him.

Shadow grabbed her dagger back, not caring she she drew blood, his or hers.
"Of course you are, that's why you did it... you weren't sorry for the first
thousand years, your sob stories aren't going to fool me!!" She said, raising her
voice, Shadow never raised her voice, her hand shaking as she held her dagger
in her hand.

Shadow glared at him, "I was planning to anyway." She told him his invitation
leading into what she had wanted to do anyway. She pulled out her other dagger
and faster than she could blink through both at him, coming from either side.
"Who are you putting on your show for? You're not fooling anyone here." She
glared at him.

Shadow narrowed her eyes at him as her daggers vanished and reappeared in
her hands. "What are you doing?" She asked him, her voice like ice. "You
think you can just sit there innocently? You think you can ignore my attacks
and just get away?" She asked him, throwing her daggers again, one at his
stomach the other at his head. She could feel the desire for blood growing.
Where had that originally come from? She wasn't even sure, only that it had
come after starting her training. It went back to days in dully lit rooms where
killing was an art, where she saw people killed before her. She kicked him
onto his back, her elbow flying into his chest. She could feel is rising.
Instinct. Instinct to kill him now and end it, to see his blood and satisfy
Jerome's demand. She threw her daggers again, with the same precision she
always did, but her eyes didn't hold the same emotionless gaze they always
did.

She was about to make the final blow when she felt a hand on her arm. She
turned around suddenly to see Lucas, his face calm as always. He shook his
head, "Jerome wants him back alive." he said simply. Shadow blinked, his
presence reminding here where she was and why. She got a hold of herself,
her hands shaking slightly as she stood back up, turning to look at Lucas.
"Take him to the ship." She ordered, needing a second to compose herself,
not wanting to look at him.

Shadow lowered her head in respect at Jerome's voice. "It was only what he
asked for, he's still breathing." She assured him, turning to look at Kokiro.
What had come over her? "We're on our way back now, assassination is
complete." She told him, "Full report will be complete when we return." She
told him, knowing she had to be careful before making her way to her quarters
on the ship.

A few minutes later Lucas came in. "Hey, you ok?" He asked her, though the
two of them were far from ever getting close to someone, there were as close
to each other as they would ever be to anyone.

""Yeah... I just lost myself for a moment," She told him. He might send me
in to do some training to remind myself of my mission, but it's not isolation,
right? She thought to herself as they headed back to base.
