Definitions There are a lot of terms you may not understand that I use, most are terms that are common in the Exchange, a few are my personal ones to make things easier to write Definitions: AI: Animated Item Chance: These are items created by RIGs CS: Cash Shop item Dolls: SB# dolls, specific type of chance item EI: Evolving Item -1st: If the EI is a 1st Gen -Gen: If the item is not a 1st gen. I value all non-1st at whatever the lowest is among generations Event Items: Items that were part of a Gaia event such as Christmas, Halloween, Summer, etc... Haggling: The process of offer and counter-offer between buyer and seller. Marketplace tax: Every-time something is bought from the MP the buyer has that amount of gold taken from his or her gold total, but 2% of that gold is "kept" by the marketplace, giving the seller 98% of the selling price. MC: Monthly collectible. RIG: Random Item Generator. Current RIG "Famestar Masquerade" Split: when haggling a split is when you offer a split down the middle. Example I offer 10, you counter 20, I offer a split at 15.

F.A.Q. How do I know what to offer? When I buy an item, I want to either make 10% if it's over 100k, or minimum of 10k if it's under 100k. So the first step is to determine how much I expect to sell it for. The LMP and AVG are usually good indicators, but it's not perfect. an item will usually fall into 1 of 3 situations with lmp and avg. 1. higher lmp than avg In this situation I base my offer on the avg 2. lmp and avg basically equal In this situation I base my offer on that price 3. lmp is lower than avg In this situation I base my offer on lmp minus the difference between lmp and avg. Next step is to determine if the number you have is less than or greater than 100k More than 100kTake the number you expect to sell the item for and multiply it by .88 This is the offer that will get you a 10% profit Less than 100kTake the number you expect to sell the item for and multiply it by .98 to show what you will receive in gold after tax. next subtract that number by 10k and you have the offer that will earn you 10k in profit Why is this thread locked? I made the decision to lock this thread so that discussion about the thread will not cause the thread to be cluttered and difficult for people to read. How long will you be updating? I will update until the total profits reaches 2 million. At that point I will evaluate whether to continue updating or perhaps start on something else. Can I PM you with Questions?I would prefer you post questions in The Plan: Discussion ThreadAlso you can post a question in the Exchangers ForumWhat made you decide to do this? There are two reasons: I have tried teaching a few people how to vend, but it's a lot of work to teach one person, let alone more than one. This will allow me to help teach more people by doing the work once not again and again each time I start teaching someone. The other reason is that the person who taught me how to vend, Teshia l Lyndall, made a similar thread, but she has left Gaia, at least for now. So her thread has basically died. I want to continue her work. The name of the thread is a dedication to her thread My Ban Recovery Plan

Week 1 Day 1 Shadowlegend: On the thread, there had been close to 20 posts and no one had made an offer on the shadowlegend, so I didn't open with my highest

Week 1, Day 2 Wingding: I offered 55k, the seller countered at 60k. My counter was a split 58.5, but the seller stayed 60. Normally I would push the split but I agreed to the 60 as I wanted to have something to post for today. Slow days will happen, try to not let it affect your judgement in purchases.

Week 1 Day 3 Triste's Rapture: This is one of the reasons I put 10k as my minimum objective profit. while 8.3 is more that 10%, it's only because I aimed for 10k, at the smaller numbers, the profit can for from 10% to nothing much quicker. Spacefeet Wig: I purchased this as an example of a low cost vend. Not everyone starts vending with a lot of gold, sometimes you start with what you have. My formulas don't work for this low, so I just aimed for a bit under 50%, 2.5K. The seller asked for more, I went to 3. seller countered at 4, I should have offered a split but took the counter. Little Black Bat: I offered 35, seller countered at 37. I countered with a split, seller stayed at 37. I agreed, commenting about her stealing my kidney while she was at it. I had a lot of fun with this vend, not only during the haggling, but after. just because you buy something doesn't mean you have to leave the thread. Friends are a good thing to have, especially in the exchange. They will chat with you in your threads to keep them bumped, and you should do the same. Also the exchange is a community, play nice. The "group" I typically avoid doing lump deals where you offer on all the items for one price. However for the sake of this guide I did one. These have a potential for making you money as you can hide where you make cuts on your offers, the seller doesn't know your offer values the 100k item at 80k for example. Also the seller asking you to buy everything indicates they are in a hurry. Items: Case of Pietro Strawberry Sundae Sweets Custom Cut Latrans Trickster Antique Keymaster I offered 1,245 pointing out her value on pietro was not based off the lowest among the Gens, the seller countered that her gen was higher. I explained that I had to base my offer off what the LMP at the time was, which was 320, not the 600 she was wanting, she countered at 1,550. I countered at 1,250 and she accepted.

Week 1 Day 4 Lesson of the Day: Pay attention. Pistolera: Standoff: Here is where paying attention is crucial. I posted it for 40k instead of 400k. It's so easy to misplace a 0, always double check your price, don't assume you typed it in correctly. Also check up on your item once it hits your shop, it took almost an hour for someone to notice, had I checked up on my item I would have been able to cancel. Go Phones: This is a good example of using a declining price to get a bargain. I offered 100, Seller declined. I stated if the decline from 160 to 140 happened again I'm looking at 120 then countered at 105. Seller accepted. If they did drop I'd still make a profit, if they don't, I make even more. Angelic Bracelets: I offered 370, seller asked if that was my highest. I went to 375, seller agreed. G-Bot: I offered 35, the seller countered at 40, I offered a split at 37.5, seller accepted. Note: G-Bot price dropped to 30k, rather than cut my losses and sell it for less than I bought it I am making it a long-vend. If by the time the week ends I have not sold it, the 37.5 will go as a loss for week 1.

Week 1 Day 5 Devoted Pawn: I offered 4, seller countered at 6. I countered with a split and seller accepted. Box of Totally Innocent Objects: offered 355, seller countered with my old offer from 2 days ago of 380. I pointed out the falling price, seller countered with 370. I again pointed out the falling price, seller asked my highest, I stated 356.4. Seller asked for 360, I countered with a split. Seller insisted on 360 and I agreed. Space Pirate: offered 30, seller countered at 32, made it clear she would not budge. 32 was right at 10 profit so I accepted

Week 1 Day 6-7 Day 6: I took a break today, no vending. Day 7: For some reason I was really tired this weekend and slept almost all of it. Tomorrow will start a new week. Hopefully next week will be more profitable and less crazy, but at 400k it's not a horrific day since day 2 nothing really happened. Week 1 Total is 418.31K profit after losses. I'll be updating again tomorrow with Week 2

Week 2 Day 2 So far this week I've almost make as much gold as I did last week, once the Ship captain sells or I make much more I'll have passed all of last week in 2 days, assuming I don't make another MP mistake
