 Stormy was resting under a beautiful apple tree, the cool grass feeling so soft against her underside. She had her wings tucked up against her back and her front paws stretched out in front of her. She seemed so peaceful, like nothing would disturb her time to just relax and enjoy the day. She felt the warm sun beating down on her and felt the cool breeze as it gently rolled around her.
"It is such a peaceful day and I am so glad,"she told herself.

 Li walked slowly, with no real destination in mind. He had just needed to get away from the crowd of gems he was stuck living with. Chatterboxes, the lot of them. They were talking about the upcoming holiday and how much candy they would get. It made him sick to his stomach, and he wondered how they could possibly stomach so much sugar. He shuddered a bit at the thought, then looked up to see where he was.
Who was that out there? The markings looked familiar...ah. Stormy, he saw as he came closer. The female was one of the few acquaintances he'd made lately that didn't irritate him after a while. In fact, she seemed to make him nervous...it was an odd feeling but one he found himself wanting more of as he walked a little closer to her and caught her speaking to herself. "Yes, it is rather peaceful today, isn't it?" he said and smiled softly.

Stormy quickly jumped to her feet as she heard a voice and her eyes popped open. As she got sight of who it was, she let out a sigh of relief, glad to see it was Li. She looked a little embarrassed, realizing she had reacted a little jumpy when he first spoke.
"Oh Li, I am glad to see I am not alone with wanting to get some peace and quiet. I am sorry I jumped when you spoke, I just didn't know anyone would be out here. I really have got to learn not to me so jumpy,"she said in way of an apology. She always liked his company and he was glad he was here, figuring he had probably come out to get away from all the commotion of some of the other gems.

Li smiled a little as she jumped and settled himself near her. "No worries...I should have announced myself," he answered. "What brings you outside today?" She was much more pleasant to be around than most of the gems he knew. It was nice to be around someone so easy-going, despite her jumpiness.

Stormy smiled softly as Li got comfortable near her, glad to know he didn't mind she had been a little jumpy. He always seemed to know what to say to make her feel better and she really liked being around him.
"I decided it looked like such a nice day outside today, I wanted to enjoy it. I mean after the rain we had the past few days, it feels good to come outside and feel the sun on my back. I like being able to stretch my wings and just feel connected to nature,"she answered. She didn't know she would have someone to spend time with, but she was glad Li had come out here.

He nodded a bit and smiled softly. "Yes..it is quite nice out today. But the rain is nice, too. It's soothing, to me. Don't you like the rain, as well?" he asked softly. He wasn't sure what it was, but he wanted to know more of this female. It was strange the way she made him feel as his tail waved back and forth slowly in the grass.

Stormy nodded her head, she did love the rain a lot, since it always seemed so soothing. Plus, she loved storms since they were so powerful, but could also be so helpful as well.
"Yes, I love the rain as well, since without it, we would not have all the beautiful plants that are around us. Also, without the rain, we would not have water to drink. I find it very soothing to listen to the rain falling and it makes me feel at ease. I also like storms because they can be so powerful, but beneficial to every living thing,"she replied. She didn't know why, but Li made her feel emotions she didn't know could be so strong.

He nodded and smiled a little as she explained. "Exactly. Not many seem to understand the rain...they only see it as an inconvenience, or a necessary evil at best. They don't understand how something that can be so powerful can also be very gentle..." he said and then blushed softly. He'd never spoken so much at once, with anyone. It was a...freeing feeling. He found he rather enjoyed it. "Heh...I've never someone so easy to talk to..." he smiled at her a little, wondering at the new feelings in his chest.

Stormy's cheeks took on a gentle pink tinge as he told her he head never had such an easy time talking to anyone before. Truth be told, this is probably the most comfortable she had been with talking to someone and she really enjoyed it.
"I like to think I am like a storm, I can be powerful when I need to be, but really quite gentle. As for being easy to talk to, I don't think I have talked quite so freely before with anyone other than my family. You make me feel like I can trust you with my life,"she admitted.

Li smiled softly. "I kind of got that feeling from you," he murmured. And he did, he could already tell from talking to her that this gem could be a thunderstorm or a gentle rain. He smiled softly, a light blush covering his cheeks as a thought entered his mind. He couldn't help but think that she was being a gentle rain now, soft and quiet.
"R-really?" he asked, a little surprised at her confession. "Well...I don't think anyone's ever said that to me before..." He smiled and looked at her happily. "But I think I can say the same...you're not like a lot of gems I know...you make me feel safe."

Stormy's cheeks became a brighter pink at his words, her heart fluttering in her chest. She didn't know why, but she wanted to spend more time with him and be around him a lot more. She had not felt this way about anyone and it was a strange and wonderful feeling all at the same time.
"Well, I am glad I make you feel safe, I wouldn't want you to feel uncomfortable around me. I like to think I am special, but some have made me think I am just dirt sometimes,"she sighed sadly at the last part.

He frowned and huffed a little. The thought of someone making her feel like dirt angered him. What right did they have to make someone like her feel that way? None, at all. "You shouldn't listen to those that want to make you feel like dirt. They're just jealous of you," he said and blushed softly. "You are special, Stormy...I'm very glad I met you." He smiled softly, truly glad to have met someone like her, someone he could be himself around. He liked her, he realized, and that thought brought with it the question of whether she liked him, too. He hoped she did, at least a little.

Stormy looked over at Li as he said she was special and she smiled brightly. She walked closer to him and nuzzled his cheek, letting him know she appreciated it. Then she wondered if her nuzzling bothered him and she stopped, looking a little embarrassed.
"I am sorry, I shouldn't have done that without your permission. I do hope you forgive me, I just have never felt like this around anyone. I just want to spend time with you and I really like you,"she admitted.

He smiled at the nuzzle and leaned into her until she moved away. "O-oh," he murmured and blushed. "No, it's okay...I don't mind." He blinked and stared at her for a moment before smiling wider. "I like you, too," he said. "I want to spend time with you, too." Leaning a little closer, he blushed and hesitated for a split second before kissing her cheek.

Stormy's cheeks took on a red tinge as he kissed her cheek and a smile spread across her lips. She gently draped a wing over him and rested her head against his side.
"I am so glad to hear that, Li, because I can't imagine life without you now. I would have hated to learn you didn't like me back. You make me feel calm and like I really am special,"she told him.
