Biography: In life, Champloo was a masterful chef. His country of origin, his age, his life before arriving where he would spend the rest of his life, none of it was known. It is known that upon his arrival, he alone cooked a great feast and fed the whole of the community. All there agreed it was delicious, perhaps the best thing they had ever tasted. Some wished to become his students, others vowed to never eat food not cooked by him or a disciple of his ever again. Regardless of the words spoken that night, Champloo left, heading deep into the woods. No one dared followed him. The woods were known to be fraught with all sorts of perils. The townspeople considered him as good as dead. Days went by and on one night, the town awoke to a wild laugh. It rang through the houses and soon the smell of a delicious food followed. Puzzled, many wandered outside into the night and found another feast prepared for them. The village was convinced it was Champloo's doing. That following morning, the brave set out to find him, convinced to either have him come back to town or become his disciples..... that or die trying. Those men never came back. People had figured they died, other thought they did as they said. Months passed, legends spread. Travelers, locals, people from far away lands all passed through, some going into the woods to find the supposed "Legendary Chef Champloo". Some of those who went were devout seekers, having run across him before on the road, but knowing nothing of him. Many who searched for Champloo never came back. Those who did never made it very deep. Every so often his laugh could be heard echoing from the depths of the forest. More myths began to circulate, these ones not as nice as before. "The Legendary Chef Champloo" became known as a local monster, a man known as "The Body Boiler". The next feast that appeared, as they had every month since Champloo's arrival, was avoided. It didn't matter to Champloo, but it only fueled the suspicion of the villagers. They said that he boiled the disciple who performed the worst that day and fed him to those who learned with them that day. Other rumors said that when he found a man alive or one had found him, he laughed and the laugh drove them insane, so much so that Champloo had made it a good thing to kill the person and cook them, serving him to the villagers as the feast they always received every month. Still, some defended the man, eating the food that was so graciously brought to them. Years had gone by before anything majorly related to Champloo happened. During the day, the village came under attack by an army scavenging for supplies. Very suddenly, as person after person was killed or wounded, the forest rose up with shouts like lions. A group of a baker's dozen emerged from the trees and using bizarre movements proceeded to thrash upon the invading troops. Although able to fend them off, numbers proved to be prevailing and the hope seemed lost. Day began to turn to night as the battle raged on. The men who appeared to help had only proven themselves as a minor delay to the troops, at least until the roaring began. Everyone stopped. Villagers, fighters, soldiers, all frozen as a light began to emerge from the long silent and pitch black forest. The light danced and raced forward wildly, the strange, powerful roar getting closer as well. The villagers began to run at the urging of the fighters. The soldiers were baffled and bathed in a bright, burning light. When the light died, all that was left was charred sculptures and black marks where people and things used to be. Leaving the wounded to those who were alive, the men disappeared into the blackened forest. They returned hours later as the dawn broke carrying Champloo in something like a coffin shaped cooking pot, two more carrying the massive lid. The people carrying Champloo were those who disappeared and made it to him deep in the woods. They had undergone severe training and looked much different from long ago. These men and women told the villagers their stories, and of the greatness of the dead man. It was revealed that Champloo had been preparing something special for future's sake before suddenly sending his trainees back to the village. In order to keep the place that had allowed him to stay, he utilized his surprise and unleashed his Burning Soul to save the town. The force killed him and destroyed the village, but had ended the threat to it. He was buried that same day in the coffin, deep inside the woods where the disciples trained, and few words were spoken about him since.
Upon his death, Champloo had accepted it all and moved along peacefully into the after life. There he fought as necessary to preserve his ideals, the same as he had done in life. He found himself actually even more empowered than he used to be, and his power attracted attention. Most of it was bad, and that bad attention was quickly sent packing by Champloo's fist. Not long afterwards, he was effectively conscripted into Shino Academy. He spent many years in the academy, not because he was bad at what he was doing, but because he would only accept teaching from those he felt "Taught with their hearts". Due to that principle, he moved through the school slowly, but he graduated nevertheless. After entering, he was quickly put into the Eleventh Division and has been there ever since, working through the ranks at his own pace.

Energy Gate Unlocked Champloo taps into his energy, drawing even more power from it, becoming stronger, faster, and with higher levels of reiatsu. The technique essentially uses a large amount of reiatsu and spreads it over him equally, allowing him to perform feats even some Shinigami hold in awe.
My Burning Soul! (Unlocked) Champloo sparks himself by hitting his own body with a light punch. The move sets him aflame with spiritual fire. With a lion like roar, he charges the opponent, aiming to tackle them and catch them with the blaze. While the fire lasts only a few moments, it can cause bad burns on the opponent. Champloo comes out of the move with only minimal damage and the smell of barbecue. (1 post initiate, 1 post chase, zanpakuto is sealed after the third post.)

Bankai Appearance: Once more, the zanpakuto keeps it's original appearance, staying as Champloo's apron.

The move increases all of his attributes, but only lasts a short amount of time, represented by a large clock in the sky. Although it is fully visible, it does not affect the light or darkness in the area. When the clock strikes midnight, his bankai ends. (4 posts, zanpakuto is sealed on fifth post)
My Burning Soul! (Released) Champloo creates a zone of extreme heat, instantly bringing sweat to the brow of anyone. He leaps back and punches with such force that his reishi ignites upon the air and takes the form of his zanpakuto spirit, a massive roaring lion of fire, and explodes upon contact with the superheated zone. Despite the moves power, the heat and range of the attack stays within the circle of heat created by Champloo. (1 post initiation, 1 post escape from blast zone, Attack connects, zanpakuto is sealed.)

Burning Hand Champloo thrusts forward with his palm at such speed and power, it creates a heatwave in it's path, capable of burning most rocks and leaving a hand print upon them. (3 post cool down)
Chef's Special Champloo moves his fist so fast it hits the foe and leaves so much heat behind that a small explosion follows. While the blast is of a moderate strength, it doesn't move the target no matter how light or easy to move it may be. (4 post cool down)
Nyahahahah Boom! Champloo contracts his muscles and heats up his body dangerously, even heating the air around him. After a short period of time (5 posts) he must release the built up energy. If he is struck the move also releases. Depending on the duration he held the heat depends on the resulting explosion size. The move is dangerous since it damages Champloo respective to the blast as well. It can be detected by the heat in the air, plants drying out, or dry plants catching fire. (Up to 5 post maximum, Cool down equal to posts used)

Shunpo Master Though nowhere near as fast as the Stealth Ops, Champloo still boasts an awe inspiring speed since he knows no kido at all, not even healing ones.
Unusual Body and Training Due to the way Champloo trains, which often involves cooking somehow, his body can withstand extreme heat and pressure, making him a seriously bad person to underestimate. Additionally, it has made his body very solid and more resistant to damage. This is to the point that, with the help of his specially made cuffs, he can block zanpakuto with his hands.
Locked PowerSince Champloo believes in fighting fair, he locks his power in the stages of his zanpakuto. While his zanpakuto is unreleased he only has a third of it and so on. He often refers to this as "Fighting with more of my heart, Boom!". Consequently, he is often held back without releasing like other captains. While he does know his zanpakuto's name, he relies on it very little, even going so far as to forgo it's techniques for his own, claiming that he shall fight with his own heart and his zanpakuto need not worry itself. Apparently his spirit is perfectly okay with this, allowing Champloo to seal his own power with the zanpkauto.
