Characters: AloisxJustine
Some disturbing imagery.

-It is my take on what happens when Justine dies by the hand of her suitors. (Has been edited since I last posted it on Tumblr.)

She opened the door; the rusted metal scratched against the cold stone floor. She didn’t know who she was or why she was there, but she had to get out. She awoke in a small cell, enough room for a rotting wooden bed frame in the corner. It was missing a mattress, but there was a pile of molding hay in the opposite corner. She shuddered, the smell overpowering the dank, cold air. Time had slipped by her shaking form as she stepped out of the cell, frightened by the disjointed sounds that echoed in the stone hallway. It was freezing; she looked down to notice she had only her white, lacy bloomers on, now covered in mud from the cell floor. A soft curse came from her chattering blue lips as she crept through the dark hall; a lantern given to her from some sick human being as if she were an experiment was her only light.

“Hello? Is anyone there?” She managed to say just above a whisper.

“Is that you, my love?” A strangled voice came from out of the darkness. “Oh, my dearest Justine! I’ve missed you so!” The voice came closer and closer, paired with a metallic, clinking sound. She held out her lantern toward the darkness, but saw nothing.

“Justine? I don’t know who you are talking abou-!” She gasped as the figure came into view.
It was a man, she could only believe as he was wearing nothing but chains on his legs and an odd mechanism around his neck. It was a wheel of some sort pierced through his flesh. His eyes were nothing but empty sockets, blood staining his face and neck. His chest had been carved into by some ghastly tool; a large “x” mark opened his chest, his torso also covered in blood. He was completely bald and overall absolutely terrifying, but even with all of this, his voice was lovely.

“Oh come now, love, you must remember me. You transformed me into a masterpiece!” The figure smiled, getting closer. She backed away, dropping her lantern, confining herself in the cell again, into the darkness. She closed the metal door, hoping it would keep her safe.

He tilted his head; a large cracking sound rang throughout the hall. He smirked. “That door doesn’t lock. It hasn’t for years.”

“What?” She replied, voice shaking as she slid to the floor.

His hands were outstretched in front of him, trying to find the door, and his smile grew as they touched the frozen metal. With no effort he pulled the door away from the wall, the hinges severely rusted through.

She screamed. There was no way out.

“It’s Alois. Don’t you remember me? The time we spent together? I’ve done everything for you; even harm my own body for your amusement, love.” He laughed happily as he limped closer. Cold, mangled hands touched frozen, yet smooth flesh.

His eyes began to bleed, his voice shaking as if he was crying. “I’ve missed you so much, dear. It’s so lonely here without you.” He grabbed the flesh he felt in his hand and squeezed, utter joy coursing through his broken body.

She gasped, tears running down her face. She clawed at the hand around her neck.

“How I’ve longed to feel you next to me again.” He could not feel her light scratches on his deformed hand. It was so cold in the bowels of the estate he barely had any feeling in his limbs.

“I wondered when you’d come to see how your experiment had gone, or perhaps this is one?” He asked, as if she knew.

But she didn’t.

He wept, holding her against his ice cold body. “Please, don’t leave me like that again!”
And she wouldn’t. He had snapped her neck.

She laid there like a doll as he ran his hands through her long, tangled, chestnut colored hair.
She would never remember how she had given herself her own potion that caused a temporary amnesia to test herself in her ultimate experiment. The experiment to see if she truly had the ability to be a human being or not. Her psychotic, scientific mind made her the rat.

The rat was dead and he had his one true love in his arms once more.

“It’s alright, love. I won’t let you leave me again. Justine, my angel Justine.”
