This place used to have amazing waves, great for surfing, but the barrier cut this part of the ocean off. Now, with no tide, the water is eerily placid.

Davin took a long drag on his last cigarrett, as he slouched behind a large sand dune. He had skipped school again, the second time this week. It was just so boring; he couldn't stand sitting there all day while clueless teachers droned on about the civil war and the square root of 350x+34x squared. So he cut class. Which reminded him; he looked at his watch. I t was 3:00, thirty minutes until school got out. Thirty minutes until he had to go and pick the triplets up from daycare. Not that he cared that it was his turn to pick up the little guys, it was just that if he didn't, then Ann would get mad at him. Not that he cared if Ann got mad at him, it was just that when she did, she wouldn't leave him alone, which was annoying. Plus, when she was mad, she'd screw with your food so that it tasted terrible. Davin didn't feel like spending his hard saved cigarrette money on enough food to feed him until Ann's anger abated.

Ian kicked the small sand piles that seemed to appear out of thin air where he wanted to put his feet. He had left school early again after some idiots started making fun of him. It was a repeated offense, nothing he wasn't used to but sometimes they just took it too far. He shoved his hands in his pockets and stopped at the shoreline. They should just disappear, the world would be a better place without them.

Davin took one last drag, then buried the butt of his cigarrette in the sand. He walked out from behind the sand dune, his nearly-empty school-bag slung over his shoulder. Time to go get the little brats. Not that he really thought that they were brats. He just wasn't the type of guy to say 'time to go get the sweet little angels from daycare'. He started heading towards the plaza, ignoring the blond guy who was also at the beach.

Crystal Waters
Crystal slowly climbed up the dunes, sifting through the sand with her feet and grabbing shells when she deemed them pretty enough. She had finished homeschooling early that day, so her parents had let her walk down to the beach. She had spent the day practicing her surfing - without a board, and out of sight. She loved the feeling of walking on water, and waves made it all the more fun. Strangely though, all of the waves had disappeared at the same time, and the ocean had become eerily still. She had decided to go home and see if her parents knew what was happening. On her way out, she glanced up and saw two older-looking boys, one of which was moving towards her. She recognized him as the boy she had seen around the beach every so often. She loved to go to the beach after homeschooling, so she knew who the regulars were around the place. This boy showed up pretty often. She decided to finally be friendly for once and mustered up the courage to give a little wave when he happened to glance in her direction.

Davin looked at the girl who waved at him, gave a noncommittal jerk of his head, and continued on his way. He slightly recognizedd; she was one those homeschooled kids, from the other side of town. Not the kind of girl he was interested in. Not that he was interested in girls, rich or poor, smart or stupid. Too much work.

Ian sighed and closed his eyes. There wasn't any wind today, despite the forecast of moderate breezes on the weather. It was odd, but not unheard of so he didn't think much about it. He was suddenly very aware of the other people on the beach, when normally he wouldn't care. He looked to the side and saw two people, he recognized Davin from his school. They didn't have any classes together but Ian thought he was really cute... He didn't think he knew the girl, though, and assumed she just didn't go to school with him.

Crystal smiled. For the first time in a year, she had made some kind of contact with someone she didn't really know without her parents being there. Being overprotective, they were always with her and always controlled the situation. She didn't mind. Sure it got annoying at times, but she knew their hearts were in the right place. She followed the boy into town. She wasn't stalking him, she was just going the same way. Her parents had asked her to pick up some things at the grocery store before heading home. At the parking lot, she turned around to take one more look at the beach. She could see quite a bit of it from where she was, including the other boy she had seen. What the heck, if she was going to be friendly, she might as well be friendly to everyone. She waved at him too.

Abe found his way to the beach,having Savannah constantly point him in the right direction.He noticed some people on the beach and said reassuringly,"See,there's people here,nothing to worry about."

At the sight of people, Savannah's spirit soared. She almost cried out with joy, but kept her composure. Then, she go to thinking, and a puzzled expression crossed her face. "But... this still doesn't explain everything." Her voice sounded broken, her enthusiasm gone in a flash.

Ian cocked his head at the girl but waved back. He was sure he had never seen her before in his life, but maybe she knew him? Like how he was sure Davin has no idea Ian existed but he knew Davin. He walked over to the girl. "Sorry, but do I know you? From school or something?" he asked her.

Crystal's heart stopped as the boy walked up and spoke to her. She hadn't expected this. All of her confidence was swept out from beneath her, leaving her swaying and weak. "N-no, I . . . I was just being friendly." Well, now don't you sound cool. Arrgh! She could be so stupid sometimes! And to top it of, now she was beginning to blush! She quickly looked down at her feet. So much for stepping out of her parents' overprotective boundaries. Stupid little girl.

Abe kept smiling till he started noticing things about the people around him.Holy shiz; these people are around my age.No people in city hall,that senior that disappeared next to me,my brother...Everyone older than 17 disappeared. He quickly whispered to himself,"I gotta find out if my theory is true..." Abe got up and looked at everyone.,"Hello,I'm Abe,I'm fourteen and single,"He joked in a voice that everyone could hear.No matter what,he always have to have something positive to say.
