Levenon are rare gems containing an immense elemental power. The most common Levenon are those of the elements water, fire, earth, and air. However, others, rarer by nature and just as powerful were of the elements metal and lightning. Rarer still, were the light and darkness Levenon, considered mere myths by most and heavily guarded secrets kept by others. The Levenon are the only source of extraordinary power in the Demonic Plane, and their wielders are the only individuals with elemental powers in the Plane. Their history, as well as the history of the Great War, are intertwined, and it is for that reason that the Levenon are now hidden and scattered throughout the Demonic Plane.

Long ago, Levenon were kept only by noble families as a sign of their wealth and power in times of peace. Some families had multiple of the hard to come by stones, and others had just one. In these times of peace, nobles with many stones were content in commanding those families with lesser stones what to do. The more powerful families used the weaker ones as servants and go-fors, much to the displeasure of the lesser families.

This peace shattered soon after the more powerful noble families began abusing their power. Rising up, the lesser nobles began assassinating the families that were controlling them. Soon after, a full blown war broke out between the nobles, and everyone suffered because of it. The Demonic Plane's land was ravaged by the Levenons' power; most of it peasant farm land. Starving peasants then too, began revolting; using the cover of night to also assassinate whatever noble family was nearest to them. As the war spread, starvation and poverty followed close behind; sending the land into chaos.

For three generations the Great War lasted, until one male from a lesser noble family that had disappeared for thirty years resurfaced; carrying in his possession two legends. Using both the light and darkness Levenon, he beat down all the warring forces with his own small army. Establishing his authority, the man named himself the Shadow King, for his mastery of all things light or the absence there of. Although vicious in his rising to royalty, the Shadow King worked most of his life to restore the land.

In old age, the Shadow King, began losing his mind. This process was quickened by the powers of his Levenon, that soon took control of his body and began to once again ravage the lands that the man had worked so hard to rebuild. However, the other users of the Levenon had been prepared in their unity and summoned their best warriors and mages to confront the Shadow King. The battle was long and intense, but the Shadow King was then sealed away into an item called the Sulkenbe.

The Sulkenbe's current whereabouts are a well kept secret kept by the High Council's eldest member.

Levenon are powerful items with the ability to imbue demons with elemental powers. The power of a Levenon is limitless in the hands of a user that is experienced with that element. However, if a person is to switch Levenon somehow, even if it were the same element, the user must relearn how to use it.

Levenon users are easy to pick out in a crowd. Every one is labeled with the Levenon's power by way of demonic markings. These markings make it evident as to what Levenon element the individual is control over by way of color. The markings that appear on the user emanate from the places that the Levenon is kept and wielded from. An example is the water Levenon that inhabits the spear. If a demon were to keep it on his or her back, and wield it in his or her hand, the markings would be present in both areas.

Earth Levenon leave green markings on their users
Air Levenon leave lilac markings on their users
Water Levenon leave blue markings on their users
Fire Levenon leave red markings on their users
Metal Levenon leave silver markings on their users
Lightning Levenon leave yellow marks on their users
Light Levenon leave white markings on their users
Darkness Levenon leave black markings on their users

The user starts off with no markings, but the longer he or she has the Levenon and the more advanced he or she becomes with it, the more markings will appear.

Levenon gradually imprint their powers onto their users, allowing a demon to control the element without the Levenon to a more limited extent. The longer a Levenon is under a single demon's control, the better he or she can control the given element without it. This power is never completely lost and cannot be removed from the demon.

Beware the Levenon's power. Each stone is the crystallized form of an ancient mage's soul. As such, the mage can then communicate with the user, and if it is malicious, will try to take over its host.

Levenon Personalities

Each type of Levenon has a general personality characteristic that the mage within it follows. The mages of the past could only learn an element that suited them. A passionate mage could learn how to control the element of fire, and a calm, grounded mage would excel at controlling the element of earth. However the mages could not learn the elements interchangeably.

Levenon, however, do not pose this problem. Because the magic is not truly their own, a prospective Levenon user can use any element; even if the element clashes with his or her personality. It is beneficial to chose an element that is compatible however, because the mage within the Levenon is more likely to offer up its powers willingly.

Fire Levenon are inhabited by mages who are passionate and tend not to think about what they do before they do it. This makes them a poor choice to listen to in the heat of the moment.

Water Levenon are inhabited by mages who are free willed and calculating. These mages are likely to contemplate any action before following through with it.

Earth Levenon are inhabited by mages who are grounded and stubborn. The mages within these Levenon are set in their ways and are hard to get along with; as well as convince to lend their power.

Wind Levenon are inhabited by mages who are free spirits by nature. These mages are usually very easy to get along with and are the easiest to manipulate.

Lightning Levenon are inhabited by mages who are incredibly impatient. The mages within the lightning Levenons are quick to try and strike out on their own, using their host's body to conduct their powers in battle without the host's consent.
