GW's second black box limited edition juggernaut, Dreadfleet, brings naval warfare back to Warhammer Fantasy in a big loud and VERY audacious way, complete with huge detailed ships and extensive fluff for all involved.
This weekend saw our first game with it, and it was quite a treat. The set up is easy, the rules not too hard to pick up after a few turns of stumbling, and requiring you and your allies to do a very careful dance of navigation and fire to really get an advantage over the enemy. Though a few rules from Man O War would have been very welcome and I wish that damage resolution was a tad less random, it overall played as good as it needed to, and fast too; games can easily be resolved in 1-2 hours even with new players at the helm.
Any of you who've picked it up, share your first impressions on the rules, figures, ect.
