Since I am revamp OCs, I decided to go with Yuko first. Yuko is mainly a medic nin, since she knows about pressure points and how they can help or harm someone as 1. being a medic 2. was an oinin for a short time before leaving the mist, I figured she might know dim mak a.k.a a martial arts technique called the death touch.
Basically people can kill with some pressure points. It is still a fighting style and not at instant death as 1. You have to know what you are doing 2. If the person is also a fighter and knows how to defend themselves and block, it isn't always easy to get to . But is supposedly a real technique and possibly what oinin use with needles to take down rogue nins.
As for Yuko's story, I am going to assume that Yuko took her chance to escape after Itachi's death. She was never an official part of the Akatsuki but apparently akatsuki had used many people to do some of the dirty work. Madara probably was too busy with planning the war and dealing with Sasuke, so that would be a perfect time to see an opening. Of course, they probably would of tried to kill her like they planned with Orochi due to probably knowing too much. I think that makes sense.
What do you guys think? Makes sense? Makes for a better character? Needs changes? I am trying to fit it with more canon as that was the point in creating them in the first place.

I was talking about this last night (well the dead soul part as I was explaining how Fugaku couldn't have faked his death during a thread about theories), I want to give Yuko the dead soul jutsu that Kabuto used that one time during the chuunin arc. Seems like something medics would know, along with surgery and could be useful if ever needed to fake death. Plus if Yuko studied from Kabuto and learned some things, it would of helped her with engineering babies for couples that can't have kids (Yes, it is possible, but would probably need a surrogate mother or something).
It wouldn't be useful defense if someone figured it out, but good for tricking people and could give some useful info and studies on DNA and death and how to manipulate corpses. I always thought it was cool and similar to Edo Tensei in a way.
