Camelot was not quite used to his armor, his new look. He certainly approved of it, though he dreaded the mocking comments he would get if anyone knew just how much it delighted him. He thought he had looked the part of his namesake before, but now? Now he felt like he was a true knight.
But there was more to it than the look. He felt a power in him, and knew that he was stronger. He felt magic in him, as well, and his instincts knew how to use that magic. That had been one of the most surprising parts. That, and his crystal fusing with his shield. The two were one now, and it was important to remember that.
In any case, things around the Outpost were strange. He had been away on earth too long, but he hadn't meant to.
His last run for supplies had turned into a patrol, during which this very strange change in him had occurred, as well as a meeting with his friend. The mother of one of the civilians trapped here, who was beside herself with misery. He had to do all he could to soothe her, and he had tried. But he was not sure he had done much to succeed. It bothered him, the fact that Tony couldn't be Camelot, and Camelot couldn't be Tony. he could not simply tell her all he knew.
Because he didn't know who she was. What if she was an agent of chaos? Was it paranoid to wonder about the 'secret' identity any civilian might have? Of course, his soul knew that he was being stupid. She would not have been so upset if she knew what was going on, would she? She wouldn't be looking for someone to blame, if she already knew who it was. Still...
He was wrapped up in these thoughts, and wandering slowly. He had been in another outpost, and walked back here.
