This is where I, along with the help of you (probably), play, rate and review games from the Nintendo eShop. Please look through this thread to find any games you may have been tempted to buy, before buying. Before posting any game reviews, consider reasons why it should/shouldn't be bought, and post a description along with the game. Example: Quote: Game: Bad Game Price: $ (USD) Review: The game has bad graphics, bad physics, and never stops making the same noise over and over during gameplay. Result: gaia_spoons gaia_spoons gaia_spoons gaia_spoons gaia_spoons (0-5) Post using this: Name: Price: Review: Result: :star: (for plus one) :spoons: (for minus 1) Rating meanings: 0 of 5: NEVER under ANY circumstances!!! 1 of 5: Don't buy it. 2 of 5: It's not really worth the money. 3 of 5: It might be good, but ask people first. 4 of 5: If you have the extra money, go for it. 5 of 5: Go ahead. Well, then, with that, let's begin! Name: Zenonia Price: $7.00 (USD) Review: This game only has a handful of positives weighing against a a graveyard of negatives. When adjusting the volume slider, you always hear a little noise go off, and it can't be turned off. In the options menu there is an option for quality, that doesn't do anything to the gameplay, it just changes how transparent things are. The game moves like a sack of $#!+, and is choppy as hell. Alongside all of this, there's a sub-par storyline, and stupid characters. When you pick up too many items you have hindered movement, and this is cool, but only in Bethesda games! (And even then...) The eShop makes this game look like it's a load of fun, but upon starting the game you quickly learn that it's not even worth playing. The art is decent, but that's practically all you have going for you. Result: gaia_star gaia_spoons gaia_spoons gaia_spoons gaia_spoons (1 of 5) Name: Anonymous Notes: From the Abyss Price: $1.99 (USD) Review: The game is just a mockery of all RPGs/Action RPGs, because it's just so bad. You never gain EXP so there's no reason to fight anyone but Minotaur, and he's the boss of every 'dungeon'. If you do fight, you'll end up dying 9 times out of 10, so it's best to just avoid every monster. The storyline's so shallow that I cringe every time I beat Minotaur. And the 'dungeons' are all the same, with a slight template change. It has great art, and the musics not too bad, but this alone isn't enough to sew up the crack in my RPG pride. Also, every time you die, you lose all of your stuff. Result: gaia_star gaia_star gaia_spoons gaia_spoons gaia_spoons (2 of 5) Name: Shantae: Risky's Revenge Price: $11.99 (USD) Review: This game is probably the best title from the eShop thus far. It has great controls, great art, and a funny storyline that'll keep you looking for the next pun! Although a bit pricey, if you can spare the expenses, you should definitely buy the game! The only downside that I've noticed so far is the lack of direction. The game will throw you into the game with only one destination in mind, and one word of mouth. It seems to assume that the player instinctively knows, "Oh, I need to go here first, then here, do a side-quest here, and finish here." Other than that, the music is a bit bland, but if you have an MP3 player on hand, you should be fine. Result: gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star (5 of 5)

Name: Castle Conqueror Price: Review: Its a basic strategy game where you send troops to conqueror other enemy castles. It involves a lot of drawing lines to choose where to send your troops, and each round is pretty quick. You also level up a variety of attributes as you go along to get better. It is pretty simple, but it does get challenging. Your basic decision is where is best to attack first, and to keep on top of your castles which are under attack. Your commander also gets a couple special abilities. The graphics are cute and decent, and the gameplay is pretty good though the game lacks much depth. It is a decent length game so you should get several sittings out of it at least even though the rounds are short. Result: gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star gaia_spoons gaia_spoons http://dsiware.nintendolife.com/reviews/2010/09/castle_conqueror_dsiwareName: Plants vs Zombies Price: Review: If you havn't heard of Popcap's big game, you've largely been under a rock. Its a tactical tower defense style game where you place plants in the yard, which shoot or have other effects on a stream of zombies coming from the right. If you even remotely like that style of game, this is a fantastic game. PvZ has already been on the PC, Xbox, DS cartridge, and god knows what else by now. The main difference between this version and the cartridge version (other than the download is cheaper) is there isn't a Zen Garden, which is a totally optional mode where you collect and water the plants to earn coins so that depends if that matters to you. To offset it, I think it comes with a couple new minigames that weren't in past versions (I havn't seen them yet though.) This game will keep you going for a while with story mode and a ton of minigames. Each round is fairly short but it'll keep you wanting more as you unlock new plant types and get to increasingly difficult levels. Recommended even if you've played the game before, its a nice portable version. Result: gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star PC demo- http://www.popcap.com/games/plants-vs-zombies/pc?mid=pvz_pc_en_full I noticed the actual eShop reviews don't seem very helpful sweatdrop I've also bought Zoo Frenzy and Ancient Tribe, but I havn't played them long enough to make a review. It sounds like most of the RPGs aren't that great so I think I'd rather get a cartridge game for those type of things. Sorry I don't have the prices handy.

Name: Let's Golf 3D Price: $6.99 Review: So far this is the only 3DS exclusive game on the eShop (Excluding the 3D Classics series), and well, it fits the role. It's definitely not the best game you can buy for the system, but that doesn't mean it's the worst (Sims 3 holds that title, from what I've heard). While the game's graphics aren't the leading quality, they aren't too terrible, and for the first download-able full 3D game, it's allowed to be pretty shabby.
Starting off, you only have two characters to choose from, and to be honest that's all you really need to have fun with the game, but you can unlock around 8. Each character has a specific golfing ability, that you can activate in a pinch, and they get specific clothing, hair, golf balls, and clubs.
Each of the customization items alter the stats of the character you're using (e.g. power, accuracy, etc...). While changing your looks is good and fun, you don't really get anything that you might want for a certain character. Another disappointment is that you can't choose an option to use a Mii, rather than the set characters, you are stuck with the annoying characters you're dealt.
At this point I'd like to inform everyone of a game-breaking glitch: Beware the walls. If you are in an area with walls, cut your losses and avoid them, even if it means you get a bogey or three. If you swing into the lower part of the wall you will be stuck until you are forced to give up.
This game includes a challenge mode as well, though the challenges aren't really anything to fear, and they will each net you a new ball or club. There are four in all, each with five rounds. At the end of each challenge you unlock your item, and at the end of the final challenge you unlock *SPOILER ALERT*(Select to read) an achievement worth, I think, 200 points.
This game does have an in-game achievements system that'll keep you playing for hours, or at least until you find out that they're either too hard or too easy to obtain... There are about 37 total achievements, both single and multiplayer, so invite your friends and have a (golf)ball!
The Career mode isn't really all that either. It's mainly just pressing the "A" button with the correct timing each hole. Nothing special, 'nuff said. There are two other modes in single player, but they aren't too special, and you really only get achievements from them.
I have yet to experiment with multiplayer, but I think it's just local wireless, and not wifi, so it's probably not too special either. So is it worth the money, yes, but only because it's the only real 3DS game on the eShop. Result: gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star gaia_spoons gaia_spoons (3 of 5) [Really, I'd like to make it (3 and a half of of 5), but that starts getting complicated, so I'm leaving it at 3]

s11jande 20 Mobile Games You Should Be Playing Mobile, as in Mobile phone. Hey, it probably *is* badass on iPhone... But, it shouldn't be so pricey for such a cheap port. If they had recreated it for DS, I may have had a better opinion of it, however they didn't, and I no longer care for the series. I sound so harsh, but I'm not trying to be. I just hate when I waste nonrefundable money. Oh, this is just a request to anyone who frequents this thread: If you have any personal experience with both single *and* multiplayer on Zelda 4-Swords: Anniversary Edition, could you write up a review? I don't think I should do it, seeing as I have no experience in *both* fields... If anyone accepts this request, please use, "$0.00" as the price, rather than, "Free." Thank you.

I played the free version (which has ads in it) on my Touch, and I can't get used to not having a joystick or gamepad to use. I bought the port on my sister's DSi before, and it wasn't that bad. If she lets me use her system transfer, I can try it on the 3DS.
