So, I previously posted a video that shows how Emilie Autumn makes faery wings (topic called "WINGS!" for those interested.)
And I gave it an attempt! My first set of wings:
This was definitely trial and error style since I had never attempted to make wings before. I bought 14g galvanized wire for the wing shapes, white pantyhose from the dollar store, initially I was going to use acrylic paint but it came out really poorly. Maybe that was because of the stockings themselves being sheer... Anyhoo, I then decided to use green and purple spray paint for a base (since that is what I had on hand at home) and then I did some of the detail with sharpee markers.
Ribbons and flower details attached were from my personal stash. I also did a layer of glitter hair spray which left a subtle shimmer to them.
