There was a light chatter in the air, of the surrounding folk that inhabited the Academy's territory. It was like the white noise of very gentle waves washing up against a shoreside. Thus, it was only aiding to the boy's seemingly daydreamed state. Outside of the large building that was home to many who studied the way's of this world's magical routes. There was a small park in which the student resided, away from the commotion of the world of society, surrounded by that of the serene wildlife. It wasn't as great as when he'd visit Clarus Arbor, but.. he'd just gotten done with classes. He'd have to wait awhile before going out of the area, when there was less hustling and bustling going on with other pupils of his rank. Seated underneath a large overhanging tree, who's canopy was lush and full of fanned out leaves, back leaning against the firm trunk, one leg stretched the other bent, Branek gazed up to the tops of the tree's that circled around the area. Just above where the buildings did their best to try and beat such a height, where the clouds started to re-appear. One hand was fiddling with the grass below him, twirling, stroking it, while the other rolled a leaf steam between a thumb and forefinger. The leaf brushed against the blade tips of the lowered hand, making a soft swiping sound. This place was where he usually came... where he would escape the noise and mindlessness. To watch the squirrels play about, birds weave amongst the branches and soar in the vast sky..No annoying individuals to disturb him, or boring homework for him to put off. Just him and the changing seasons, slowly making its way along the calm picturesque scene. Such an enchanting sight to see. Even a few tree's wore a few golden, brown, or ruddy tip to their loyal leaves. The wind held a mild chill, comfortable for the boy, and foreshadowing what was to follow.

It wasn't often that she ventured back to Makai especially since they typically had everything that they needed, but they had just barely run out of a few herbs... Really it was more of an emergency order than anything. Thus she shifted into her wolf form, satchel draped around her neck, and made the long walk to Makai; she was thankful that the day was warm still, that the sky was clear and blue. Thankfully the roads seemed fairly deserted that day, which made it easier for her to avoid some awkward looks as she loped along, taking in the sights and smells as her human form could not.
When she entered the park on the outskirts of the school she paused for a moment, her tail swishing back and forth, the black and white swirling together seamlessly. Her nose lifted as she scented the air, nostalgia making her ears droop a little as she opened her eyes and slowly looked towards the castle. Times like these she missed studying, missed being a student, missed not having all of the cares that she currently did as an adult.
She was rather preoccupied with her thoughts, gaze directed in the distance, thus gave a startled yelp when she tripped over a set of legs. Quickly she scrambled backwards, staring at the stranger, one which was obviously a student, and proceeded to shift back to her human form, looking distressed; she really needed to learn to pay more attention sometimes.
"I'm so sorry! Did I hurt you?"

Branek had closed his eyes for awhile to really just soak up the serenity. It calmed him from the tip of his fauxhawk to his shoe clad toes. His jacket was now folded and placed behind his head to serve as a pillow of sorts. It was better than resting his noggin on the tough, and rough bark. Quite cozy, his fingers stroked the greenery slower and slower until they stopped all together, starting to fade into a state of almost sleep, yet still semi-conscious. But he was quickly drawn out of it by the sound of tiny pattering. Like an animal would when running. He really didn't give much thought to it, assuming a rabbit, or squirrel was racing past, but his brown eyes flipped open as he felt something catch over his leg, as well as a canine like yip sound right after. Branek sat up swiftly, eyes glued to the small white form, softening with ease. Poor thing looked like it was in a rush to get going. It was when he saw the back slung around it that he stiffened, the softness receding back into his calm demeanor. This wasn't an ordinary pup...
He stared at the creature as it morphed into a two-legged being, shifting his legs a little as if to keep out of her way... just in case. Strange enough, he wasn't disappointed in her presence. Mononoke had always been interesting to him... and he was a bit jealous of them. A shake of his head followed with her question, in effort to ease her worry, "I'm fine, don't worry about it." he sat upright a bit more, letting his jacket fall back into his lap, eyeing her ankle, seeing if she was ok. "you alright?" he asked after a somewhat prolonged period of time. After all, she would have suffered the most from such a fall.

Kiarei let out a slow, relieved sigh, moving to tuck her legs underneath her and straighten her dress. She was glad that the boy hadn't been hurt by her clumsiness and that she didn't seem to be hurt either. Honestly she really needed to pay more attention to her surroundings especially when she was in a strange area where anything could happen. Her father would have scolded her for being so reckless.
"I... Yes, I'm fine. I wasn't going very fast." she murmured, averting her eyes, ears drooping slightly. "I just wasn't paying much attention to where I was going. I'm sorry."
She finally climbed to her feet, moving to brush off her dress and gently comb the leaves and grass from it. Honestly having so much hair was a nuisance at times, she thought as she combed her fingers through her long tresses, removing items that got tangled in it from her tumble. Finally she smiled and gave a small wave to to boy, then a small bowl; she was being awfully rude lately, wasn't she?
"I'm sorry. I didn't introduce myself. My name is Kiarei. It's nice to meet you."

He gave a small shrug of dismissal. Clearly the incident hadn't been a bother to him. "You're fine, and I'm fine, so it's no problem." he replied casually... though he did give a small roll of one of his ankles as if to test it just in case. But there of course was no pain, just the tingle of a presence that had just been there moments ago. Maybe he'd blended in with the tree he was propped up against. He was all clad in brown, and the tree's bark was... Glancing back at it with a small turn of his head, he confirmed that that must have been her reason for tripping. Had to be.
Looking back at her, raising a brow at the strange greeting display, he kept up his rather flat-faced expression. She sure did apologize a lot... hands idly fiddling with his jacket, pressing a corner down into a folded position slowly, he gave a small nod of acknowledgement, but didn't really say anything else. "What were ya in such a rush for, anyway?" he asked... mostly out of bored curiosity than anything. Didn't look like she was being chased by anyone.. though his eyes did wander back towards where she'd come from.

Kiarei blinked at the casual dismissal of her being... Well rather careless especially considering that she needed to be focused when it came to her being professional. An herbalist that was late for a delivery due to tripping over a student at the Academy... Well, that just didn't look good at all and she hoped that they wouldn't look down on her too much for it. Though, judging from the positioning the the sun in the sky, it seemed that she was right on schedule, maybe even a smidgen early... Hopefully.
"O-oh! I'm an herbalist. I was making a delivery to the school." she answered, smiling brightly.
She shifted a little, adjusting the bag that was slung over her shoulder and shifting from foot to foot. It was difficult for her to stand still after the rush of adrenaline that had come from running in her wolf form. It was an exhilarating experience, really, feeling the wind on her face, the dirt under her paws, and it hadn't really faded just yet.
"Are there no classes today?" she questioned, looking curious; it wasn't often that she saw students napping under trees.

An herbalist eh? Hadn't seen many of those before. There was some timid, and reserved kid in his class was aspiring to be one, but he'd never given the guy a second thought. It seemed like a boring kind of job, to him, but then again he was more of a physical type. He didn't care to learn all the various helpful herbs and plants that assisted in ailing as well as hindering... Seemed like something that smart folk were better at. And he certainly wasn't one.. not at all. In fact, if he could recall correctly, he fell asleep for the majority of his potions and herbology classes. But give him a target to test his fists on and that was a different story.
But in response to her answer, he just gave a small pursing of his lips, eyes lowering to the bag at her hip. Her job seemed highly important, though that trip... it made him question her abilities a little. Internally, of course. With her shifting, his eyes drifted to her feet too. She seemed rather antsy... perhaps he was keeping her.
With a small shrug of his shoulders, he began to fold his jacket into a thin strip so he could just let it drape over an arm with ease, "There are. Just decided to cut out of mine a bit early." he replied with probably too much casual essence. But there were only just a few more minutes left of the rest of classes. He just didn't feel like sticking around for the entirety of it.

Kiarei blinked at the casual manner in which the boy before her spoke of skipping classes. She had never personally even considered not going to one of her classes or even leaving early. The again she supposed that that was why she had so few friends these days; too much time spent studying and not enough time spent socializing with the other students.
"Oh, I see..." she murmured in response, eyes hooding a little, her gaze falling to the ground. "Well hopefully you don't do it too much... It would be a pity to fail your classes."
She winced a little at her own words, mentally shaking herself. Kiarei knew that she shouldn't fret over others or tell them how to live their lives. It was always far too presumptuous of her, but it seemed to slip out all the same. She felt like she was wearing out her welcome with the boy rather quickly, something that caused her ears to droop a little.
"I'm sorry... I don't mean to lecture you. I'm sure you know what you're doing. she murmured, fidgeting nervously. "Also I hope I am not keeping you from... Other things. I don't mean to take up so much of your time."
