I have a lot riding this weekend as I am in Reno NV and actually placing bets. Lets see what happens.
Detroit at Dallas- Both the Cowboys and Lions have two come from behind victories this season, Detroit will have a tough test to prove that they really are an elite team. Two of their three wins have come against winless Kansas City and Minnesota, and this is also their second road game in a row. But Dallas despite being 2-1 is a team that can easily be either 3-0 or 0-3. And while Romo's health is improving, he is still in need of pain medication in order to perform, and many other Cowboys have been missing practice this week due to injuries. Will they miss the game? Unlikely, but will they play at 100% doubtful. I look for Detroit to continue winning. WINNER- DETROIT LIONS
Tennessee at Cleveland- I was surprised going into Reno yesterday, looking up the spread to see that Cleveland is at a -1 over Tennessee. Pretty much even going into this game. I was surprised as my inner gut tells me that Tennessee should run away with this one. I looked into this game and discovered that Peyton Hillis will indeed be back to play in this game after missing last week. But the list of injured players for Cleveland is much larger than that for Tennessee, and the Titans have been outplaying the Browns in pretty much every aspect of the game. What am I overlooking that would have the house pretty much call this game even? Regardless, I was looking for an upset pick of the week, don't know what the house knows that I don't, so I will go against my better judgement, take a gamble and pick the Browns. WINNER- CLEVELAND BROWNS
Minnesota at Kansas City- The good news, one of these two winless teams will most likely get their first win of the season, (Unless the game ends ina tie) The Chiefs have scored only 27 points, and have allowed a whopping 109. Minnesota has played really well in the first half of their games, but have been dominated in the second half of each of their games. I look back on Minnesota's games, and each of their losses could have easily been winnable if the knew how to properly close out a game. Each of their losses have been by a touchdown or less. And while the Vikings will have the misfortune of being on the road this week, Jarred Allen is more than anxious to return to Arrowhead and play against his former team. WINNER- MINNESOTA VIKINGS
N.Y. Jets at Baltimore- I look at this game and only one thing comes to mind, will we see the dominant Ravens team that crushed Pittsburgh and St. Louis? Or will we get the team that struggled against Tennessee. The Jets boast of being a Superbowl team this season, but a loss to Oakland last week has started building up questions about this franchise. And this being part of a three game road stretch won't make thing any easier on the Jets as they have to play in Baltimore this weekend, then to New England the week after that. Despite being 2-1 the Jets have seemed to be underwhelming this season so far. Baltimore with exception to their loss to Tennessee have looked more like the AFC Power House. WINNER- BALTIMORE RAVENS
Indianapolis at Tampa Bay- I gotta give credit to the Colts, this team has been showing signs of improvements as the season been going on, yet without Manning this team has shown it has no shot at winning the division. And with Terry Collins most likely out for the game, the Colts turn to Painter to most likely start this week. The Buccaneers are 2-1, but really haven't had a good challenge to show that they really are an NFC elite. A loss to undefeated Detroit, then wins against winless Minnesota and struggling Atlanta. Their next two opponents are a Manningless, winless colts team, and a 49ers team who's offensive ranking is currently dead last in the league. This team can end up 4-1 and be worse than their record indicates. I feel their October 16th game against New Orleans will really be their next big test to see if they really are a contender or pretender. WINNER- TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
Recap- Lions, Browns, Vikings, Ravens, Buccaneers
