Of course, the dark elf skin could also just be representative of the Dunmer, whom we all know Nerevar loves ;p I should rejoin the gang, I should.

The answer Supi gave is the one I should have went with to begin with...ya that's it I'm cosplaying as the Dunmer via the Dark Elf skin tone. Sure Nerevar Telvanni may not be among the darkest Dunmer, given the comforted living he has on Telvanni Island away from all that ash spewing out of Red Mountain, plus his powerful Magicka skills can keep him looking not a day older than 50.
