Malice stood before the assembled Outcasts, a menacing grin graced his lips as he addressed them. "I need two individuals with great courage to step forward...the first to do so will engage in combat.....involving a real saber. This is no test of wills for the weak of heart, you can be killed in this duel. I want the two combatants to refrain from striking each other...but emotion can get the better of us sometimes. Be careful."

"I will," Alinara spoke. "Though I will not use my parent's Quixoni for this match." She bowed her head at Malice. "Such is reserved for a duel where my intention from the beginning...is to kill.... Though may it change, I will use them." Standing at the ready, she smiled. "I believe this is a much more acceptable training method."

Seeing who had volunteered first, Zeraxul allowed a smirk to cross his face, though this was not readily visible to any as his hood was covering his face, as per usual. He had been traveling with Alinara for a while...though they never really had fought each other before in really any sense. He found himself...actually interested to see how this would go, if he stepped forward. The thought of facing his travel companion in combat actually intrigued him...even with the "refrain from striking" rule. To be honest, he was pretty sure Alinara was the only one he would be able to duel and follow this rule with....at least, in the beginning anyhow. He had no idea how it would get if it got further in. His curiosity, in the end, did get the better of him as he pushed anyone in his way aside...not really roughly, but not that gently either...so as to reach where they were supposed to gather.

"I too, will participate...whatever saber you decide to give me, I shall use...or even my own saber, should this be allowed."

He would then await further instructions or details before smirking once more, actually eager to cross sabers with the girl who was the closest thing he ever had to a "friend."

"Very good...the rest of you stand back and give our two combatants room to duel. Be wary of your attacks and defense, remember that this is not an enemy on the field of combat, but an ally..." Malice regarded Alinara as she spoke about her Qixoni Crystals. Smiling he reached behind his cloak where he had secured hilts to the back of his hips, producing a pair of lightsabers that greatly resembled her own. "These two sabers were meant to be your training blades...I modified them recently in the event that you chose to step forward. The crystals in the sabers are the same as your own blades, minus the Qixoni crystals of course. They are just as dangerous as any lightsaber...be wary" Malice tossed the two sabers to Alinara before he faced Zeraxul. Bending down he touched one of the various small intricately designed boxes at his feet. Using the Force as he waved his hand before the small multi-lock mechanism, the locks began to turn. When all 7 had spun completely, a small hiss of escaping air issued forth as the lid opened slowly, revealing an intricate saber staff. Lifting the saber from it's velvet lined housing, Malice tossed it, flipping, to Zeraxul. "Your saber..." Turning his head to regard them both, Malice spoke with authority. "The duel will last until I call an end to it...or until someone is wounded or killed. I will be watching carefully to ensure it doesn't go that far...but many things can happen in the briefest of moments while engaged in a duel. I will not attempt to fool you by claiming that I will be able to stop such a blow without a doubt. It is possible that I...or anyone else may be to slow to react. Be wary, keep your guard up, and trust in the limitless power of the force. It will not lead you astray. As this is a "Live" duel, Force powers may be used, but do try not to destroy the temple to badly. Am I understood?" Hearing their affirmations, Malice positioned the two fighters 15 paces from each other and told them to ignite their sabers. Stepping back, Malice joined the others along the outer walls, dimming the lights so that the blades of their weapons cut the gloom. Dark enough to lend a frightening appeal to the duel, but bright enough to not hinder sight, Malice grinned. "BEGIN!!"

Zeraxul waited until Malice had tossed him none other than his own saber. Excellent...that was definitely what he would have preferred anyway. With a smirk, he merely nodded in affirmation when Malice asked if he was understood...so the Force was allowed, so long as they didn't destroy anything. Useful to know...all he really needed to do was make sure to try and not harm Alinara. However, that didn't mean he wasn't allowed to use his crystals, correct? After all, Alinara got to keep most of hers right? When Malice told them to ignite their sabers, he would light both of his simultaneously and enter his regular Soresu stance, with his feet stable and spread about shoulder width apart, and his double bladed saber held at a slight diagonal, allowing for easy blocking for not only the middle, but also the high and low strikes. Only once Malice told them to begin would he allow the Force to flow through him, and activate his crystals...provided that his saber wasn't tampered with and crystals removed, the energy draining effect would begin immediately on Alinara...while this effect was not in any way quickly noticeable, it definitely had a massive influence in longer fights. He'd wait to see what Alinara would do with her first move, opting to stay in a full defensive at this moment in time...

Smiling, Alinara accepted the saber replicas as her own were attached to the small of her back. Nodding, she turned to face Zeraxul.

Her smile broadened as she felt his gaze. Five years of being companions gave her much to learn about him, even with his distant and non topical persona. She walked across the room and bent at the knees once she felt that her box was near. Opening it's contents, she felt around the satin laced interior until she found the item. "If this is a battle then best let me prepare for one." She spoke more to herself than to anyone in specific as she placed a Matukai Meditation Band atop her head. Wearing her Jal Shey Armor underneath her robes, she then faced Zeraxul one last time and got into position.

Opening with a shoulder length spread of her legs, she placed her dominant leg back which enabled her to make powerful step though strikes. Her hold on the saber hilts differentiated; both in Sith Shien form. Her left hand held the blade against her forarm in a defensive manner. Her right blade was held in a reversed grip as well, its blade angled upward and behind her right shoulder for quick, agile and powerful rising strikes.

She knew deep down that the fight would be an interesting one. She also knew that if the fight prolonged, Zeraxul wouldn't mind using the full potential of his crystals. Though with her equipment, she had a high chance to deflect any dark side effects.

Her smile soon faded as the Force energy increased around her in a deadly cold atmosphere. Bending at the knees once again, she used the momentum to sprint towards her opponent. It was then that she initiated the first move and threw both lightsabers in Zeraxul's direction. Using her already accelerated speed, she leaped into a controlled flip. Recalling her sabers to her hands, she landed behind him delivering a few quick and well placed slashes aimed for his right rib, left side of the neck and right thigh.

Interesting...so she initiated with a dual lightsaber throw. With a smirk, he quite easily deflected both at the same time with a single, fluid Soresu deflection. This would cause quite a bit louder a noise than most other sabers would, the sound shockwaves seeking out Alinara's ears...though she might be out of range at the moment for this minute amount of sonic damage to affect her, it was still the effect one of his crystals held. He then quickly added an interesting quality to the fight...while she had no sabers to block with as she began positioning herself, he would allow his hatred for everything to well up within him as he felt the Force pulsate through him. As a result, his will would come into plain view as Force lightning crackled around his hands...and then traversed among the entirety of his saber, from the tip of one blade to the other. He then, sensing where she was intending to strike through the Force, quickly and effeciently blocked her first two strikes and jumped over the third while whirling away from her in midair, landing to face her once more, not really needing to turn around until this turning jump. As he whirled, he kept himself aware and his guard up in case she tried to attack as he used this manuever to put a little distance between them as well as keep her in front of him. Once more, the crack of his saber's energies much louder than normal. He knew that if he was patient and continued his defense well enough, Alinara would make a mistake due to the distraction of these sonic waves and the fatigue that his other crystal would incur...everyone he fought, save his old master, did. At the same time of these sonic bursts, the Force Lightning crackling around his saber would seep towards hers and travel along it, down towards her hands. Unless she dropped her sabers or found a way to counter this, the lightning would end up shocking her...though he hadn't put much power into this effect so as to conserve his energy, it still might provide enough of an edge to give him an opening to switch to the Makashi style. One mistake on either end would be an endgame...well, unless Malice decided the fight should continue after it was clear that one of them would have won. He smirked as he maintained his Soresu stance for the time being...this was already proving quite interesting, indeed.

Alinara smirked. It was true that she was physically blind, but she didn't rely on her ears as much as she did her mind to see through the Force. Though sonar shockwaves could confuse the brain signals into making her believe the opponent was elsewhere, she was not easily fooled.

She subconsciously concentrated on the life force Zeraxul emitted and smiled to herself. Her meditation band only increased her ability, allowing her to overcome any weariness his crystals may try to bring upon her. She could mentally visualize every move he was making, even to point of seeing where his Force Lighting birthed from.

~So he wants to shock me as well.~ She thought with amusement. "Five years with you has taught me much, Master." She toyed with the title as a slight tinge of power began to crackle down her elbows, encircling her hand. Once she felt the instant shock at her fingertips, she tightened her grip on her hilts. Force Lighting seemed to make spheres of crackling and dancing light around her hands and forearms, not reaching the blade on purpose.

Alinara knew that her only way to counter his Force Abilities would be with her own. Though she had never tried such with Force Lighting, she was confident enough in the Force to try it... Even if it involved losing another hand.

Positioning her right blade behind her again, she bend lower at the knees as she spread her feet apart. Because of the blend of the two styles she used, there was one thing she was certain of... and that was speed. If there was one thing her people were known for, it was speed... and she would be damned if she didn't use it to her advantage.

Bringing her left hand before her face, she felt the Force lighting grazing at her skin. Alinara decided that the best tactic now would be to come in as close as possible, so she reversed her hold on her blade. Spinning it effeciently and with one swoop, both blades now faced the Sith Shien style.

She had to break his defenses, even if it took her hours or even years to learn and master the technique.

Alinara sprinted towards Zeraxul again. This time, even the lights of the arena quaked as she jumped in the air. With speed and little effort she sent a rain of Force Lighting his way. It was just enough that he would have to block with his own... and enough so that she could come in quickly using the Force to speed movements her and lock blades with his.

Then it was just about manuvering in and out.

Now here...was where the real fun began. He smirked and shok his head slghtly though, at her calling him master...he was no master yet...not untl he had killed his own previous one, at the very least. He waited until the right moments to finally act...he would proceed to first deflect her force lightning with his own using a quick twirl of his saber to deflect it all, and then immediately pivot and thrust at where her landing point was, actually letting the blade that would be pointed at him die out as he allowed the saber to slide in his hand for maximum reach...which should be barely enough to be able to reach her as she was landing on the ground and before she could begin assaulting him. Of course, he aimed purposefully for a place on her left shoulder that was nonlethal in case this caught her by surprise...after this thrust he would pull his saber back and reignite the second blade, re-entering his defensive stance as he wondered how he was going to do this...he had a few ideas, but was unsure as to how well they would work.

As Zeraxul deflected her attempts to attack him, she embraced herself for any shock her system may receive through the Force. Allowing the will of the force to go through her and guide her, she stumbled at the feel of his hilt against her. Pouting and smiling she spoke. “Not fair Zera.” She taunted playfully as she readied another stance.

With a more angular spread, her moves became wider but faster. In such a stance, there were more outcomes to being caught off-guard or at a vital point if not protected well. Tilting both hilts into an aggressive position, Alinara began to go through her mantras of wide, fast, downward and upward strikes. Though a tiring style that could agitate its user quickly, she made sure to only knock on it until one of the two broke defense.

He smirked...so it seemed he had gotten close to a direct hit. Very close, indeed. He chuckled before he replied.

"Was fairly ever how you saw me fight? You know I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve...some of which you haven't had a chance to witness."

He then went fully defensive, studying how she struck...getting a feel for her rythm. Strike and pause on one side, strike during pause with the other, and alternating back and forth in this manner...quite clever. If he went of one side's opening, he'd end up getting struck by the other side himself. That was of no doubt in his mind. For a bit, he bided his time by continually blocking her strikes...allowing his energy draining crystal to hopefully start kicking in a bit more. He would need excellent timing to pull off his next intended manuever. He waited until one blade was positioned upwards, and then interjected his own blade to block hers, keeping a one handed grip on his saber. The upwards blade had one of his own stuck underneath it so it could not strike downwards, and he quickly pivoted to get behind her...though he did feel a bit of burn along his left leg. He figured he'd get grazed slightly. With his free hand, he quickly charged a decent amount of Force lightning before he unleashed it at her back from a point blank range, hopefully before she could fully realize what was happening. He then jumped backwards away from her, adopting the Makashi form as he landed and following with an offensive of his own...quickly stabbing and slashing at her, aiming for less lethal spots as he seemed to dance while performing this swordplay. His goal was to force her on the defensive this time...he figured now would be a good time to cause her to push her limits, as she had been on her offensive for a little bit herself, and was likely feeling a little fatigue, at least.
