Okay, I know everybody gets mad at me when I mention her, but Phage is an awesome card! It only makes sense that you put her as your General. However, people don't like to lose the game when she comes in. I am looking for suggestions as what to put in my deck to make Phage effective. For example, I have Vampiric, Demonic, and Diabolic Tutor in my deck, the other generic EDH cards (Sol Ring, Reliquary Tower, Everflowing Chalice), I also have Torpor orb, so that I can cast Phage. Should I make this work, or scrap the Idea and find a new Zombie General?

You do realize you will lose the game if you cast Phage as your Commander, as she is not being cast from your hand. Unless they have some sort of errata I'm not aware of for this format.
If you're using her as a Commander so you can go Mono-Black, there are better choices.

I'd scrap Phage as a general for the simple fact that it requires another card to make make it playable.

If you only plan on playing her with a local group, ask if they mind ignoring that line only if you cast her from your general zone.

Phage it's not as bag as most would think, you've got Sundial of the Infinite and Torpor Orb to stop her trigger meanwhile you're based in a color that has more tutors that any other.
That being said I've got a suggestion for you, Try using Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon. He cost less to put out, you can give him haste (one of Commonder's most relevant effects because otherwise you have to hope it survives an entire tables worth of turns before it can attack,) it also flys so it's more invasive AND it can regenerate which makes it death resilient. Plus Lashwrithe, Strata Scythe and Nightmare Lash all combo with it to 1 hut your opponents just like Phage. Unlike Phage however those cards are still going to be just as useful used without your general, were as the Sundial and Orb won't help the rest of your deck. When they're not helping to cast Phage chances are they'll be doing nothing for you.

There's also the assorted "you cannot lose" cards... like Platinum Angel... honestly in a commander deck probably a terrible thing to fall back on- except for all those juicy tutors...
still, I like Phage too, but I think she'd make a terrible Commander...

sundial of the infinite exiles the you lose the game trigger from the stack, theres several black counterspells as well, play her, counter her, use some of blacks return from grave to hand cards and then cast her, plenty of ways to do it, she will always require at least one other card to play her, and an instant speed response from opponents to take out your method of saving yourself with her on the stack will cause you to lose, its a fun challenge to do if you have the time and resources, voltroning phage is pretty silly. definitely doable though.
