That this month's collectible is very interesting! As you open your September Monthly Collectible Letter 2011 you will have two awesome choices to choose from. First. is the rebellious Maleficent Seven which has a lovely assortment of buckle apparel in a shady purple with touches of silver! Your second choice is the item called Black Sheep, and this particular item has a cute, fluffy little sheep to keep you company! Now without further delay let's get on with the review!

(Left; Maleficent Seven Right; Black Sheep)
Now I will be reviewing Maleficent Seven first. I rather like this item's level of detail. The artists seemed to take great care in making sure that you are able to tell all the individual buckles apart from the others. I applaud them on this, because it isn't an easy thing to do and they made it look good. The color scheme for this item is a bright purple with silver trimmings and such going along with it. Overall it's a very nice color scheme and the purple isn't too ghastly like it normally turns out to be. The item is a clothing smorgasbord with a belt top and choker, a scarf, a short vest, criss-crossed belts, clawed gloves, spiky boots, and a short hairstyle. The detailing on each of these items is very well done. I have to say the vest, clawed gloves, and the criss-crossed belts show this level of detail the best. You can easily see all the small silver details they put into each of the items to make them look that more real. The shading on each item is well done, and Gaia's artists are getting better on making the hair look more realistic. This item is for both boys and girls and I feel that it balances out between the two very nicely. It doesn't seem to play favorites between the genders which is nice to see since so often one gender is favored more than the other. The only problem I have with this item is that when looking at the tags for each clothing item I noticed that they were named after the Seven Sins. Now this bugs me because it doesn't really represent the Sins too well. It is subtle and I feel that if Gaia is going to name something after the Seven Sins they should play it up a bit better. Other than that I have no other problems with this item in particular!
Next I will be reviewing the Black Sheep item. I really, really love this item. It's just so cute and adorable. The artists made this item just as fluffy and adorable as a baby sheep would be. Even though the color scheme is just black the artists made different shades of black so that the item just doesn't look like an ink blot on the screen when you equip the item. The shading is nicely done considering it's an all black item and normally with black items the shading it off so it doesn't look as natural. This item comes with a little wool capelet, black curled horns, a black sheep hairstyle, the little sheep itself, fluffy arm warmers and leg warmers, and finally you can actually be the sheep! The gender balance with this item is leaning a bit towards the girls, but guys can still pull off the fluffy sheep look with ease. The problem I have with this item is that it reminds me a heck of a lot of the past item Golden Fleece which was very similar to the Black Sheep except that the item was circling more around a ram than a sheep. I feel that Gaia does this a lot. They come up with one awesome item and when it does well they feel the need to make another item based off that first original item except they just tweak it a bit. It's like they're cheating! However, they did pull off this item nicely so I can't complain too much. Still, Gaia, you need to come up with unique original items! However I will still quest this item... it's just so cute!
