This is pretty old fanfic work of mine, written years ago. A oneshot about the pairing of Yue and Nodoka. Enjoy. Keep in mind this is a direct copy of the fanfiction from when I wrote it then. Which means I edited it in no way. I may rewrite it someday, but not now. So any part that sounds like it's not like my style now, oh well.

Diarium Pictus
Yue sighed and sat down on the bed. She took out her new book. She had checked it out form Library Island. She decided to read while she waited for her friend, Nodoka to arrive. She had left without Nodoka at Library Island. She said she wanted to get some stuff done before she left, so Yue went on to the dorms.
Yue was on the second page when the door burst open. Yue managed to keep herself from screaming, but she dropped the book and looked up at the open door. Nodoka was in tears. Yue stared at her for a minute, and then realized what had happened. Nodoka didn't have to say it out loud. Only one thing could bring that kind of look into Nodoka's eyes.
"Oh no...Nodoka..." Yue slowly stood up and Nodoka ran over to her. Yue staggered a bit as her slightly taller friend nearly collapsed on her. They sat down and Yue tried to calm her down. Nodoka sobbed on Yue's shoulder. She attempted to speak in between sobs.
"Y-Yue..."
"Shh... It’s okay. I know." Yue wasn't making much progress with the calming thing. Nodoka shook her head.
"N-No it isn't! I s-saw them!”
Yue looked concerned. Judging from Nodoka’s reaction, Yue could guess who she was talking about. She asked anyway.
“Who, Nodoka? Who did you see?”
“I saw N-Negi and Asuna.”
Yue didn’t say anything. She mentally hit herself for asking such an idiotic question. Now she might have made her friend feel worse than before. She wanted to really hit herself for being so insensitive.
“I’m sorry.”
“You didn’t do anything Yue-san, it’s just…It hurts me so much. I really did love him very much.”
Yue nodded. Nodoka broke into more sobs, staining Yue’s shirt with tears. “I know you did…listen, you can’t let this beat you down. It was bound to happen sooner or later, whether it was going to be you or someone else. You’ll just have to get over it and move on.” She stated it bluntly. No need in holding anything back. It was true. Nodoka stopped crying a bit and nodded, letting her go on. Yue sighed.
“Alright. You just need some time to get over this. I promise I won’t leave your side until you feel better, okay?”
Nodoka nodded and managed a small okay.
It turned out to be a long night. Yue let Nodoka cry until it was out of her system. After a while, Yue was starting to think she’d quit crying when she dehydrated herself completely. Finally, around midnight, Nodoka drifted to sleep on Yue’s shoulder. Careful not to wake Nodoka up, Yue tucked her into her bed and left to change her clothes. She crawled into her own bed, thinking about what had happened. The news about Negi and Asuna definitely bothered her. Yue sighed and turned to her side. She wanted to tell Nodoka everything about the news that bothered her most. About why it made her angry that Nodoka had to see it and about why it hurt to see Nodoka hurt so much. Yet, she couldn’t. Not without possibly hurting Nodoka more, or even herself. Yue tried to stop thinking about it and fell into a troubled sleep.
---
Yue was the first to wake up. She decided to let Nodoka get her sleep and went ahead to class. When she arrived, she ran into Haruna.
“Hey Yuetchi! Where is Bookstore-Chan?”
“She’s still asleep.”
“So you went without her?”
A voice spoke up behind them. “It’s okay. She knew I needed a little bit of time to myself.” They both jumped and saw Nodoka standing by the door. Nodoka walked over to them. Yue couldn’t read Nodoka’s expression. Haruna stopped grinning and spoke first.
“So I heard the news. I suppose you must know by now, huh? Kazumi said she saw you running by, and you were in tears. Sorry.” Nodoka nodded and they all fell silent. Nodoka sighed. “It’s alright. Really.”
Yue, slightly surprised, looked over at her friend and studied her face. Nodoka was smiling now, like last night never happened. Nodoka looked over at her confused expression, and then stared at the ground.
“Yue, I thought about what you told me. That I shouldn’t let it get to me and I should move on. You’re right.”
“So you feel okay?”
“Mmhm. I thought long and hard about everything, and I feel I can let it go, given time. I’m happy for Negi. In fact, I’m in a good mood myself now.”
Haruna and Yue stared at her, dumbfounded. Nodoka just giggled and Haruna changed the subject.
Apparently, news traveled fast about Negi and Asuna. Of course, when Kazumi finds something, it gets out fast. Even Ayaka knew, and boy was she angry. She was standing by the door, waiting for Asuna and Negi to come in so she could harass Asuna. Nodoka and Haruna found it pretty funny and laughed at it. No one noticed Yue, who was frowning behind them. She was glad that Nodoka managed to face her problems head-on, but now Yue had some problems of her own.
After her homework and everything else was done, Nodoka headed for Library Island. She was happily humming on her way into the library. She was greeted by one of the other aides, a university student.
"Hi there Nodoka-san! Good to see you in here today!"
"Hi. So is there anything I can help with?"
The girl handed Nodoka a small book. "Can you take this to its proper place please?"
"Sure thing."
Nodoka put her bag down and started down the rows of shelves. She looked around and sighed quietly. It made her feel better to be here, surrounded by books. She examined the book she was given. It was a novel about the wars, and the life of a soldier in the army.
"Now, where does this go again?"
Nodoka stopped walking to think for a minute. A sound caught her attention and she looked around. What was that? She could still hear it, but she didn't know what it could've been. She slowly walked further down the rows, hoping to find out what it was. As she walked, it grew louder. It sounded as if someone was crying. Now she really wanted to know. She stopped right before she reached the next bookshelf. It was loudest here. A quiet and muffled crying sound. She took a breath and stepped forward. Nodoka peered around the corner. She resisted the urge to gasp out loud. She saw the long blue hair of her best friend, Yue. Yue was sitting against the bookcase with her face buried in her arms, crying. It was definitely coming from her. Nodoka stood there and thought about just leaving her alone for a while. Yue never felt comfortable with people seeing her emotional side, though it had slipped out a few times in the past. But then Nodoka remembered that she wanted to talk to Yue anyway, and wanted some answers. She took another deep breath and started forward. Within a few seconds, she was standing over Yue.
"Yue-san..."
Yue didn't move, but she had stopped crying. The sound silenced, leaving it too silent in the air. When Nodoka waited, she got no response.
"Yue. Please, I need to speak to you."
Yue mumbled something incomprehensible and lifted her head. She still refused to look directly at Nodoka. Nodoka stared at her. She didn't want to, but she knew that she had to be stern to get an answer out of a stubborn Yue.
"Get up." Nodoka ordered Yue. Yue flinched at the sudden sharpness of her voice, but stood up anyway. She was still staring at the ground. She spoke up finally.
"What do you want?" She was almost mumbling. Nodoka held the book she still carried against her chest and continued.
"Why were you crying?"
"I...I don't know what you're talking about."
"Don't act like that Yue. I want to know."
"Need to know what?"
"Stop it! Stop acting dumb, because I know you're not!" Yue flinched again when Nodoka shouted. Nodoka ignored it and went on. "Is it because of yesterday, when I told you about Negi and Asuna?"
Yue kept her gaze to the ground and nodded. Nodoka didn't like yelling at her friend like this, but it was the only way she could get an answer. By demanding one.
“You’re…in love with him too, aren’t you?”
Yue bit her lip and didn’t reply.
“Yue, please! Look at me and tell me!”
Yue flinched again. She was usually the one to keep her cool, but this was getting harder. She was starting to blink away the tears in her eyes. Nodoka was still waiting for an answer. “Well?”
Yue took a deep breath. She had to try to stay calm. “No. That isn’t the reason.”
Nodoka stared at Yue and sighed. “Right” She sounded disbelieving.
“Nodoka, I swear—“
“Don’t lie Yue.”
Yue shut her mouth before she could shout a retort that she might regret later and let Nodoka continue.
“I thought that we were best friends. I thought we could confide in each other, but I guess I was wrong. I just don’t understand why you won’t admit it. I’ve always known how you felt about him.”
Yue couldn’t just stand there and let Nodoka accuse her of this.
“Nodoka, I am not in love with Negi-sensei!”
“Stop it!”
“I’m not lying!”
“Then what is it? What is so horrible, that you can’t even tell me, your closest friend?”
“I…I can’t tell you…”
“Tell me! If it isn’t Negi, then who is it?”
“It’s you, okay!?”
Nodoka stopped shouting and stared at Yue. Yue glared at her, tears spilling down her face. Nodoka whispered, confused. “I don’t understand…”
Yue did it now. Oh well. No use in avoiding it now. Yue took a deep breath.
“I know I was the one who told you that I was in love with our sensei. I remember it too, and I regret saying it. That wasn’t love. I look at Negi only as a good friend and teacher, nothing more. What I said to you that day…was said in denial. I don’t love Negi, I…I’m in love with you!”
Yue almost shouted that last part. Nodoka backed up a step and bumped into the bookshelf, causing a few books to fall off the shelf. Yue’s face was red now, but she looked directly at Nodoka. Her purple eyes showed regret for what she had just said. Yue bit her lip again and looked away.
“I’m sorry. I should’ve told you before. Now I made you think I was an insecure liar.”
Nodoka had lost all the seriousness from before and just looked shocked. She still held the little book she was supposed to put away. That was all forgotten by now. Yue stepped towards Nodoka and stood on her toes to kiss Nodoka on the lips. She kissed Nodoka quickly, and then backed away, blushing.
“S-sorry. I just realized how badly I wanted to do that. You see, I’ve felt this way about you for a long time now. Even before Negi came to teach. You were always the kindest person I knew. You even came to me when I was that isolated girl who had just lost her grandfather. You helped me out of an impossibly deep hole. Even after all the things that have happened, you’re still my friend. I really love that about you.”
Yue didn’t get a response. Nodoka tried to speak.
“Yue… I don’t know what to say…”
“Whatever you say is okay with me, you know. No matter what you think now, I won’t hold it against you. I understand if it’s too…awkward…or whatever. I just needed you to know how I really feel. I’ll leave now.”
Yue turned to leave. A hand on her shoulder stopped her.
“Yue. Look at me.”
Unlike their argument earlier, this command was said with a softer tone. Yue turned around, not knowing what to expect. Suddenly, she felt Nodoka’s warm hand on the side of her face and Nodoka’s lips on her own. Yue, after getting over the small shock, returned the favor. After what felt like forever, Nodoka pulled away and grinned. She looked at the small book and tossed it in the pile of other books.
“You know, I think those books can wait.”
