A high-society club and bar on the upper levels, this is something of a futuristic "Studio 54". The richest of the rich on Genitona go here if they are "in-the-know". Anything and everything can happen here, if you've got the cash. Name a model or an actress, and somehow Fawkes (the owner) will make her appear in one of the upscale private rooms that you've rented out for the evening. Want an audience with a Grand Noble? He'll figure out a way to arrange a meeting in a more discrete location. Want to kill someone? Want to be the life of the party? Want to have every last man and woman tugging at your belt?
Then show Fawkes your pocket book, and he'll make it happen.

Captain Vax C. Skeen”Every fire starts with a spark. I'm that spark.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It was only a short walk from the tram to the elevators and stairwells, but Vax was on his toes this far into the city. There was less of a chance you'd get mugged, but a much higher one of being arbitrarily arrested by the Nob Militia: the long arm of the Grand Nobles on Genitona. They would site some absurd charge such as “public indecency” for wearing clothing of an unbecoming caliber for an Int or Nob.
The short walk to January 7th was nothing short of uneventful. He minded his business, and checked to make sure Kai was still with him every now and then. Getting into the club was expected to be just as much of a cinch, even if it was approaching peak operating hours. The only obstacle in his way was the stereotypical bouncer. An intermediate of significant stature wearing a well-fit tuxedo. Vax knew his face from prior visits, but not his name. He craned his neck upward, leaning toward the man to be sure he was heard over the pulsing music from within the club proper.”Name's Skeen. Fawkes is expecting me.”The brute nodded, and relayed the information through a wrist-mounted transponder. It took a few moments, but he eventually got the okay as the bodyguard motioned him in, but outstretched a hand, denying Kai access.”Only he goes in. You gotta' get in line, or wait for 'im.”Vax pivoted in the opposite direction at the comment, turning back to face the bouncer, then shifting his gaze to Kai.[[Two things: 1. Feel free to bicker and yell at this guy. 2. How do you pronounce Kai's name?]]

..........Power LevelxxxxxxxxxxMusicxxxxxMin★---------MaxxxxxxMin---★------MaxKai followed closely behind Vax with silent footsteps. She eyed the bouncer suspiciously, but moved in line with Vax as he was allowed inside. As he barred her way, Kai crossed her arms and looked up at the man. "Excuse me?" she said dryly, mulling over several courses of action. The first was her typical, more radical thought. Beat the s**t out of this guy. The second, was the more intelligent thought; just sneak past him. The third was her least favorite, but the most clever course of action. Verbally ******** him with some carefully placed words. She flipped through her available options with some amusement. Guess she'd have to go with her last option first, though she personally disliked it. If he pissed her off, she'd have to skip the second one and go straight for the first. "Listen buddy, you're going to make me wait in line with those people? And I suppose you make all the Grand Nobles wait in line too. I can't stand there with those disgusting people in line. Or would you rather that I call my employer and have him hand your a** to your hot-shot boss on a silver platter, because I got raped on the street while standing in your so-called line? How insulting, that I get treated like this after a day in the city, walking all around in the hot and blistering sun. I assure you, you'll be hearing from my lawyer soon..." she threatened, trying hard not to laugh aloud. It was amazing how melodramatic she could be when she tried. "Hmph." she scoffed, flipping her hair over her shoulder and pursing her mouth at him, staring at him with her degrading stare.

Captain Vax C. Skeen”Every fire starts with a spark. I'm that spark.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Despite the slew of threats toward the club and its well being, the bouncer didn't seem to care none too much about the possibility of a lawsuit, and chose to flat out ignore her. Likely because the club, thanks to it's reputation, had earned an endless number of favors upstairs. There was also the distinct possibility that the bouncer wasn't some back-water oaf, and knew how to act around some of the wealthiest and highest paying customers Genitona had to offer. It was January 7th, after all. Any and all of your wishes could come true there, provided you had the dosh.
Sensing the impending s**t storm Kai was about to unleash, Vax decided to save himself from a loss of business and possible legal action. He retrieved a neatly folded up one-hundred GAC bill from the inside of his jacket, stepped back, and gingerly pressed it against the man's chest.”We'll be only a few minutes. The Captain feigned a convincing smirk of friendliness and understanding. The bouncer pulled the bill from his hands in turn, after a short glare, and extended his arm, gesturing Kai to the door.”Before you feel inclined to critique me,” he said under-breath as the entered the club,”It was a counterfeit...welcome to January 7th.”The layout of the structure before them was, if nothing else, impressive. There was a central terrace exposing the seven floors of the club, descending to a large, central dance floor at the bottom. Each level was equipped with a bar, outfitted with more possible drink combinations than be possible. Each level also hosted a number of attractions and themes. Gay, lesbian, inter-species, middle-age to name a few. Other levels catered to fetishes, sports, food, just about anything could be found in the massive complex.”Mister Skeen! Long time no see,” hollered the voice of an aged man. It was Fawkes, sporting his own suit, sunglasses, and a white goatee. It was evident that the intermediate was beginning to approach his sixties or seventies, but he still had a strange air of appeal about him in every conceivable way.[[I dunno' about you, but it feels like I am more or less dragging you right now, which is not my intention, nor is it meant as an insult. I wanted to ask if you'd prefer I sped things up with a double-post/edit and had them seated at a table so the two of them (Kai and Vax) can discuss this proposed Rebellion, or should we keep the back-and forth going? ALSO: Pronunciation, as I am having trouble still, is like “K-hay”, with a semi-silent “h”, just “Kay”, or is it something else entirely? :S]]

..........Power LevelxxxxxxxxxxMusicxxxxxMin★---------MaxxxxxxMin---★------MaxKai was much inclined to stab her sword down his throat, but of course, refrained from doing so. With a venomous look that could kill, Kai briskly walked into the building. She looked around with a frown. WAY too many people for her tastes. She hated crowds and loud places. It gave her massive migraines, more or less, unless she decided to tune out everything entirely. She glanced at Fawkes, as if sizing him up as an opponent. Not wanting anything to do with anyone here, she kept silent and held her peace.

Captain Vax C. Skeen”Every fire starts with a spark. I'm that spark.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fawkes and Vax shook hands as usual, exchanging smalltalk for a few brief seconds. The two did not particularly “know” one another, but they had enough interaction through business deals and the like for them to be friendly to one another; a mainly professional relationship, that could have had further business related benefits were the need to have arisen.
But their exchange was short, with Vax handing off the small black pouch he'd been carrying on his waist since departing the “Bylun” at the docks. In exchange, he received a chit filled with GACs, which quickly pocketed.”Would it be too much trouble to ask for a seat in the vip-lounge? Or somewhere as quiet? My friend and I need to have a lengthy discussion.” The old man quickly raised a brow, implying that Vax wanted to have a “discussion” with Kai.”An actual discussion, Fawkes." He didn't quite know whether to be offended by the implication, or to be surprised. What was for sure was that he'd rather leave any coinciding images of such an affair out of his head for the moment; after all, Kai more or less seemed to hate his guts. Well, perhaps not hate, but she definitely did not favor him in any way.
Fawkes briskly escorted them to a booth in the VIP lounge, located on the same floor on the opposing side of the atrium. The booth itself was rather nice and well kept. It had the very faint odor of cigars, but not in an overpowering, nauseating sense. Just enough to allow one to embrace the presence of the former occupants. The soundproofed walls allowed only the smooth jazz within the lounge to be heard, aside from the occasional light burst of laughter or the clatter of glasses on the mahogany bar.
As they settled in, a waiter came by, inquiring if they wanted something to drink “on the house” (an extra courtesy of Fawkes, no doubt).”White Wine if you have it,” he looked to Kai, ”Do you want anything?” With that, the waiter left with their order in mind, and Vax ran a hand through his hair, ruffling it with his fingers before completing the gesture.”Now...tell me why it is that you feel inclined to ask me, of all people, for help in starting a revolution, please.”[[Nonsense. Roleplaying is about all characters involved with a given situation. Not just one. Kai is as much the protagonist as Vax is. Also, it was pronounced exactly the way I thought it was originally; thank you. xD]]

Captain Vax C. Skeen”Every fire starts with a spark. I'm that spark.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vax sighed at the comment.”You're well aware, I think, that this isn't as easy as deciding to fight the system...Hell, you're lucky that I still have some vague hope left to fight the grand nobles..." He took in his own words and the entire concept of their discussion. It was just beyond crazy as far as he was concerned. Perhaps all those years ago the things they were laying down their lives for seemed achievable, but now? He didn't really know.”Before I even consider going on some decade-long, life changing journey with you, I need to know more about you first, Kai. Right now, all I've got is that...your name is Kai, and you want me to spearhead a rebellion against the grands. Last I checked, you don't even seem to like me, either.”

..........Power LevelxxxxxxxxxxMusicxxxxxMin★---------MaxxxxxxMin---★------MaxKai scoffed as his words. "No. You're not going on some decade long, life changing journey with me. At least, not until you whip your sorry little a** up. I can't have you half-heartedly agreeing to everything I say. Either you're one hundred percent in, or one hundred percent out. I won't have any room for argument on, 'oh...we might be able to win, but then again, we might not'. I'm not ending up with some sorry degraded X-Class that'll end up being dead weight. I need a leader, a real leader, that can stand up to imperial Gods. And maybe i'd like you better if you were some proud X-Class warrior, and not some wimpy hobo." she said, rolling her eyes. "If you don't agree to these terms, then i'll go find someone else. There are plenty of other people out there that would be more than willing." she muttered, watching her two glasses of water arrive on the table. She traced the edge of the cup idly with a finger.ʎ l ɟ ɹ ǝ ʇ ʇ n qxxxǝ ɹ n z ɐxxxxxxxxxx

Captain Vax C. Skeen”Every fire starts with a spark. I'm that spark.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So the racial remarks had begun, it seemed. And there was no question about it anymore, Kai was definitely a nob. And as her assault upon his intelligence, person, and courage continued, the urge for him to casually shoot her under the table increased. To the point, in fact, where his cheeks and forehead burned with rage. His brow tensed, and his eyes narrowed, casting the single most uninviting scowl in the room.
This little ******** doesn't know a goddam thing about me. She gets to tote her personality and living in my face, and expect me to up change the world. He heavily suppressed the urge to express his thoughts aloud; if there was one thing he was taught in his brief childhood by his father, it was to never insult a woman. It's simply a battle you will not win, or finish. So rather than releasing his unbridled rage upon her, he let the insults come. He made no attempt to retort. He simple sat there, and let himself be humiliate, because no matter what she said, he knew she believed in him in some way. And she also knew there was no one else who could do it; why else would she humor him this long?
When the barrage finally ended, the drinks arrived at the table, and he began to assess what he could possibly say in return. The waiter left a napkin, half folded, on his side of the table, and then deposited the two glasses of water on Kai's end. Vax was immediately intrigued; a folded cloth napkin is an old mercenary trick he'd picked up some years ago. It meant there was a message on the bottom of your glass.
Gently, Vax lifted the black wine glass off of the table top, and skirted the bottom with his fingers, feeling a small piece of paper, about two by two inches, taped to the bottom. He pulled the paper away from the glass, and set the latter back down. It was a note:
“Genitona will be hit by the Grands at 26:00 tonight. Get off world.
-Fawkes”
As his eyes scanned the message, and then moved to the watch on his left wrist. Ten past twenty-three. He looked to Kai with the most serious expression he'd given off all evening.”I'll do it, on three conditions...”

Captain Vax C. Skeen”Every fire starts with a spark. I'm that spark.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ”One: we both learn to live with each other. If we're going to do this, we're going to end up in the same fifteen feet of space for the next few years, and inevitably end up fighting. I'd much rather come to trust you, and know you've got my back than play pissing match every other day.” He extended one of his gloved fingers on the table, seemingly counting out his statements. With the other hand, he took a quick sip of wine. It was well aged, judging by the taste on the back of his tongue. He couldn't stand beer. Only straight vodka, and any wine short of red. He hated red wine.”Two: you're honest with me, and up front about everything, from here on out. Same goes for me. We can't hide anything short of birthday parties from each other.” He extended a second finger, and took another small sip of the wine. He wanted as little of it to go to waste as possible. He braced himself for the third item. His adrenaline was already creeping out with the thought of an invasion of Genitona.”We get up, get whatever you need, go back to my ship, and leave this planet, right now.”[[Quality over quantity. Don't worry about it. C:]]

Captain Vax C. Skeen”Every fire starts with a spark. I'm that spark.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At her inquiry, Vax slid from the booth, and stood up with great purpose, slipping the note into his pocket, and taking a final sip of the wine before discarding a bill worth five GAC on the table.”The grands are finally gonna' make their move on Genitona tonight. Three hours from now, they're gonna' black out the Goddam sky with their ships. What's worse is they're not looking to kill us, they're looking to capture us. The entire X-Class population is a renewable labor force." He quickly patted down his jacket, making sure he had everything, and offered a hand to her to help her from the booth.”Unless you want to be in the middle of a warzone, we need to leave before they send interdictors to the system. If I remember correctly, that'll be within the next hour and a half. Once they get their, FTL drives won't start, and we won't be able to leave.
