Nostalgia here:
I started Gaia from my ex-girlfriend, also my first girlfriend I ever had, this was before we started dating. Her mom almost became a moderator (and had all the early monthly collectibles except the halo). April 12, 2004 is when I started. This was when Gaia Personals were still around and Chatterbox was more of bump this and bump that as well as PG-13 role-playing threads. Also the time when posting got you a max of 10 gaia gold and it didn't matter what time of the day you posted or which post number of the day it was. Polls always gave you 10 gold each for 10 polls and then you had to wait 5 hours (I might be off with my numbers)...
I made this account two days after my main account, so that's why this one is April 14, 2004 (still god-damn early). At this point, 500,000 members wasn't even reached (quick-trivia, my account is #494,076). Gaia Personals were removed November of 2004, so if you weren't around before then, that is completely foreign. This was due to it making the site more of a hook-up idea than an ANIME ROLE-PLAYING FORUM which was the original intent.
April 12, 2004, at this point Gaia was just short of 1 year and 2 months old (started February 18, 2003). This was also when it was under the URL:
http://go-gaia.com
(which seems to no longer work, so don't bother trying).
1 month after I started, my ex (Melina) gave me an Angelic Pendant which is what started my conquest of nearly 10,000,000 gaia gold worth of items.
My main account was banned nearly 3 years ago, and is no longer retrievable because apparently Gaia Support deletes any offense records over 1 year old... Sucks doesn't it?
The reason I managed to get about 100K on this account right after getting banned is from my friend, Jessica, who I met mid 2005 and dated in 2006.
Another interesting thing, I started RuneScape on May 4th, 2004. Interesting, isn't it?
