I preordered the Animus special edition for Assassin's Creed Revelations
As it is the only Special type edition available in my area, I also think it is the best, It has the Encyclopedia you guys!
However I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those figures from the 'Templar' edition (the 'Ultimate' bundle has a bigger figure and Leonardo's flying machine) and the art book either. The 'signature' edition just has the capability upgrades from Animus and the Custom + Extra level, that is it... So I wouldn't get it, also it is only at Gamestop.
The 'collector' edition is like a watered down 'templar' edition, so obvious not worth it. The 'Special' has it's own outfit, which I personally like and a seperate multiplayer character, who will likely appear within weeks on the PSN for like $3 or some shizz
Too many Special Editions, you guys!
Anyway, on to the game.
I really think they should have let Ezio go on this one, he is 51 and still doing this s**t, but at least he shouldn't be appearing again after it. He is confirmed as Dead at the age of 65 in 1524, he did pretty good f0r himself, considering the average life span ended by the age of 35 - 45 (Altair did him one better, living to 92 where 35 was the norm)
I personally dislike the Zipline they added with the 'Hook Blade' in one of the hidden blades, making it possible to get from A to B faster, I don't like it because It'll really cut down on gameplay and I actually enjoy finding my way places, but I suppose I won't know for sure until I try it.
I like the new costume, it is pretty good but it has more of a... Wild feel to it, which I feel does not really suit Ezio all that much.
They have customization bombs, include one that kills with shrapnel, one that impeeds guards in a chase by spreading shrapnel into the ground, smell bombs (to disper groups, not blind like smoke), Explosive (for full on assasults) and more, they can also be set with tripwires.
The Fighting appears to have been improved further as has the navigational skills of Ezio, with more quick paced movements and some small alterations.
It seems as if they tried to hard to 'chock it full' of action, from the trailers I've it just looks like they are trying too hard.
Overall I'm looking forward to the game a fair bit, but also nervous that they may have ruined the game by over doing it and clinging to Ezio Auditore.
