It was a wonderful day. The sun was out, a few fluffy little clouds hung in the azure sky. The bright sun's rays fell upon one large stone dwelling. It had many floors, many rooms, and the openings decorated in smooth black stone, the floors all made of tiles of red and blue crystal. And the top most window gave a wonderful view of the wonderful sky and the large village bustling in the light. Such a sight would brighten any downtrodden soul.

Except the native who was pacing the floor vigorously. This native was the one who worried about them all. The one who looked after every child, woman, and soldier.

This was the chief of the village, by the name of Nikaria. Her ebony locks, which usually fluttered around her waist, were pulled back into a tight bun. It was out of her eyes and it helped her think. Amber eyes scanned over the stone table scattered with thin tablets and papers. All the details of the village. The woman once again resumed pacing.

As she fervently paced, her black claws clacked across the stone tile floor, speckled canine legs gracefully placing their steps with the large paws adapted to support such weight better. A thin black tail tipped in white waved back and forth in agitation as two large burnt umber ears, decorated with small gold rings, remained slicked back as she continued to just pace. Of course the chief soon made herself sit down at her desk, adjusting the short fur tunic she wore just to fidget.

Of course, her thoughts drifted for only a moment as she glanced out a glass-less window at the world outside. Nikaria's thoughts drifted to the one person she sheared this dwelling with. Her son, the young prince. Where was he on such a nice day? Hopefully not inside.

{Pardon the intro post. I will make stickies to describe the various buildings that will be crop up. Hope you all can work with this!}

Bushes and leaves rustled as it seemed an invisible force moved around in the woods. It was hard to what was moving around. It was quick and agile. It was a he. He was a certain native everyone knew and almost everyone loved. At the moment, he was stalking something. After moving from area to area, he stopped to look around and sniff the hair. His amber eye scanned the canopy of the forest, not focusing one spot for too long. Even when he saw the slightest of movement. What prey was he hunting this time? One of the rarest that travel in these parts. The prince, known as Droka, then began to move once more. "I've got you this time," he mumbled. His powerful canine legs hoisted him up in the air, him grabbing to a low branch. He had no weapons so he'd have to take this beast down by hand. He traveled from branch to branch quickly, tailing his prey. Who says a wolf can't climb trees. His good eye continued to scan the area just in case.

The man finally leaped after his prey after so much chasing. Sadly, it slipped through his fingers. The male cursed under his breath as he landed on his a** on the ground. His fluffy tail didn't receive any damage, thankfully. Droka stood, dusting himself off before sniffing the air. Uh-oh. His prey was stalking him now. Suddenly, he was attacked.

Droka let out a yelp. Though, it wasn't a yelp of pain. It was more of a laugh. Why you ask? Because he was being licked to death. "Spark... Stop it... Okay, okay... You win, you win," he said as he laughed. The dragon like animal looked at him with his jade eyes, looking very content with himself. "Wipe that smug look off your face, little dragon.." Droka petted the animal, sitting up. Spark was a rare little animal and very hard to tame. Droka found the animal when they were both very young. Spark had just hatched and had been wondering around, losing his small family. Droka was hunting with his mother. Spark fell from a tree, landing on his head. Droka was a little frightened but so was this little dragon. The two were very wary of each other, staying a distance. Being the kind one Droka was, he offered the dragon a little fish Droka had packed in case he got hungry. Then he heard his mother, leaving the dragon. It was dark when they returned home. When Droka got to his room, he found this little lizard-like animal rooting around. It was the dragon he had met. Seems he was still hungry. So Droka sneaked some food and fed the small beast. He did this for a while, keeping Spark a secret. The two became very attached. Droka was an only child and, at that time, wasn't liked by many so having a new friend was great. After two years, his mother finally found out about Spark. By then, the two were so attach, it was no use in trying to separate them. So since then, Spark has been Droka's faithful companion and best friend. Droka was the only one who could hand Spark. The fierce looking animal was actually pretty sweet if you knew his weaknesses. And only Droka knew those.

"Alright.. No more games... Let's go check on mother.. She's always stressing.. Maybe we can help her relax.." The mini dragon nodded, as if understanding. Spark jumped off his 'master' and climbed a tree, going to fly in the sky. Droka got up, dusting himself off, and head back to his glorious home, which wasn't too far away. On his way, he picked a few berries and certain herbs. He would make his mother some tea. He was always good at mixing different herbs and a few other ingredients into delicious teas. His mother was his grand taste tester and the only one he made tea for.

With a cup full of relaxing tea, Droka came into the room his mother was in. "Busy?..... I made you some tea.." He set the cup down, careful it wasn't anywhere it could spill. Droka ran his fingers through his hair, revealing the scars over his right eye. It was forever closed. His depth perception wasn't the best but he dealt with it. "You're going to start getting gray hairs and wrinkles if you keep worrying like that..."

Nikari had gotten back up from her stone desk to stare out at the village she watched over. Of course, her train of thought was interrupted by a familiar voice. One of her large ears swiveled back to catch the voice, and she smiled, turning to see her visitor. Her son. And was that tea she smelled? Droka was so good to her.

Thee chief went back and sat behind her desk and picked up the warm tea. The aroma was heavenly. And as the leader took a sip, one ear once more swiveled to catch her son teasing her. She swallowed the drink and looked to her son, setting the cup down carefully. "And soon you will be worrying that black river white when you gain the throne after my death." she said, smiling some. She only teased her son. And only him. The young prince was all she had after her mate had left.

The chief took another sip of her tea before getting up and going back to the window to view the forest. "So where has my valiant hunter been?" she asked, a bit on the interrogating side. "Hopefully not past the falls, as I have instructed." she said, glancing over her shoulder at the half-blind prince, her amber eyes studying the royal.

Droka returned the smile to his mother. If there was one person he could depend on, it was his mother. She loved him no matter what. Of course she did, she was his mother. Even if no one accepted him, as long as his mother did, he was fine. She was the most important thing in his life right now. That may have been a little sappy but it was true.

When his mother teased him, he pouted as his ears laid flat to his head, running his fingers through his long ebony hair again. He smiled again, his ears perking back up, when his mother spoke again. His tail swished back and forth as his mother asked where he had been. He sighed. "Of course, Mother. I haven't been any further than ten meters of the main yard.... I've only been brushing up on my stalking skills with Spark.."

And speak of said pet, the dragon flew threw the open door of the room. Droka held out his arm which donned a special protective glove so those claws of Spark's couldn't dig into him. The dragon landed on said arm. "I was wondering where you were.." He scratched Spark in one of his favorite spots to be scratched, the dragon somewhat purring.

The chief nodded some and returned to stand next to her desk, picking the cup back up. That was good he did not stray far. "That's good, my son. I am sorry I must pose such restrictions on you. But I can't have my only son be lost to a hungry beast, or worse. Those outsiders." she said, spitting to the side at the last bit. She hated outsiders. They upset the balance of their forests. The animals were already starting to act slightly odder.

She then sighed, taking another sip as she picked up a paper which crude writings had been hastily scrawled upon. She had warriors keeping tabs on these odd beings. And they seemed to like going into the forest with odd weapons, taking things out and back to their metal home. These things confused and worried her. She had to maintain the safety of the village. But she knew they could not hide forever from the beings. They would find a way to find the city. Nikaria shuddered at the thought.

The leader put her cup down and sat back down in her chair. "My son. I must go on patrol with the warriors to see the progress of our visitors. I... I will let you go, but I'm afraid Spark cannot come. He might give our position away, or be taken by those invaders. You won't want that, would you?" Why was she saying this? She had confined him. And his wild spirit would not be contained for long. Either he'd go off on his own, or he'd start begging her ear off about it. And she had to get used to the idea that he won't always be so close to home. The chief needed the knowledge he could take care of himself after she was long gone.

Droka nodded. He knew these restrictions were for his own good. They were for the good of the natives. There were outsiders pass the falls. Like his mother, Droka didn't appreciate these newcomers invading the forest. Destroying the lush vegetation and capturing some of the wild-life. But, at the same time, he was a little curious about them. Why were they here? What were they? And what were those weird weapons they used? Those question would probably never be answered.

Droka petted Spark as Nikaria continued speaking, the creature, still lightly purring. He frowned a little when she said Spark couldn't come. It seemed Spark pouted a bit as well, hanging it head a little. The two have never been apart for too long. And Spark could never give away their position. His coloring allowed him to blend into the vegetation and he wasn't easy to catch. He'd be able to get away easily. His mother should know by now that Spark was coming along either way. Whether the woman liked it or not. Spark would find a way to be with his friend.

"I wouldn't.. I am honored to come along. Thank you, Mother.." Of course, his little curiosity might lead him to stray away and venture on his own. He knew that wasn't wise but he wouldn't be alone. He had Spark. The dragon-like creature could warn his mother if something should happen. Spark did have that high-pitched roar that came in handy.

Nikari watched as the dragon pouted. So much for trying, right? She got up and went to her son, patting Spark lightly on the head. "Of course what do I know. I may be chief, but I don't have eyes in the back of my head." she said with a shrug. Like she could keep Spark and Droka separated. But she had to give it a shot.

The chief exited her office and grabbed her spear. Her trusty weapon and walking stick. She then waited for her son to gather what he wanted to take. She wouldn't recommend a lot. They had to be stealthy after all. And maybe she gave a few more moments to let Droka send his pet off to hide. But she soon exited the house, talking with the small group of warriors she'd be patrolling with.

But this didn't make her feel less stressed. Sure, two of the four were capable. One of her most experienced guards there. But the other two: Total rookies. Fresh out of training. The chief prayed this wasn't going to be a bad choice at letting them come.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 17, 2011 6:27 pm

Droka chuckled a bit. And it wouldn't be the first time he sneaked off. That's how he met Spark. And that's how he lost his eye. It wasn't always a good thing when he went off on his own but he was always wondering what would happen next.

When Nikari left the office, Droka walked to the window, scanning the area. Spark did the same. "Alright, Spark. You keep hidden in the leaves. Don't make a sound... Off ya go."

Spark licked Droka's cheek before jumping out the window, spreading his wings. The creature took off for the forest. After Spark was out of sight, the prince went to his little armory closet. All the weapons in here were all handmade by him. All he'd need was his bow and arrows, the ones made by him. This bow was larger then the one he had as a child but he could still travel quickly and quietly, still be stealthy. After strapping his quiver to his back and filling it was arrows, the prince was off. He met with his mother and the group of warriors coming along.

Droka could tell two were rookies. How, you may ask? Because he could tell they doubted his ability. The way they smiled at him. Apparently, they didn't know a lot about the prince besides the rumors of him being an illegitimate child. Droka's eye narrowed. "Could I teach these two a lesson before we go off?" He asked in a whisper to his mother. All he needed was a stick. The more experienced guards knew better than to think less of the half-blind prince. Maybe the other two didn't hear but when he was six, he took down a general within thirty minutes. Of course, who would want to talk about that? It was a little embarrassing to the veteran.

Nikaria glanced up when her son joined their little patrol. But she only laughed at his comment. As did the warrior next to her. It was that warrior who her son had bested in his youth, but the old man tried to take it in good strides. Droka's mother simply shook her head, patting his, and scratching right behind one. Where he liked it. "Not now my son. Maybe when we return. For now, we must watch those outsiders. See what they're doing now."

And the chief led her patrol through the caverns that led to the waterfall where the entrance to their vast network of villages was concealed behind. She slipped out from behind the roaring water, making sure the forest was deserted of outsiders before coming out and motioning the rest to follow her. She jumped onto a rocky outcropping, over the raging whirlpool below, and with another mighty leap, was in the brush and gone.

The general gave a nod to the silent instructions and motioned for the rest to follow. The man, a lion, gave his own leap to the outcropping, waiting for the rookies. He knew the prince could make it, but the rookies he might have to save from the raging, swirling waters the falls poured into.

{And then I shall move to posting in Regen Forest. I'll see you there, my son!}
PostPosted: Sat Sep 17, 2011 7:18 pm

[alright]

Droka sighed a bit when his question was laughed at but smiled a little, lightly punching the warrior's arm. He hung his head a little as head was patted and scratched. It took some focus to keep his leg from kicking. Why did she have to scratch him there. Oh well. He'd get his chance to show himself then those rookies to tell their friends about it. That way they wouldn't make the same mistake.

Droka followed after his mother, his eye scanning as it always did. No matter where he was, he was always scanning his surroundings. He kept with the guards, wanting to keep a little behind. Except when it came to jumping that outcropping. He did that with easy. He went on ahead. One thing his eyes were scanning for was his little dragon pet. He wanted to keep tabs on the animal. And it wasn't long before he spotted the wyvern. The dragon made sure Droka would be the only one to ever sense him. He was good at that. After reassuring his pet was near by, Droka kept to his mother, still scanning around.

[After the forest incident]

The general had brought their chief, who he had knocked out, back to her palace and put her to bed. Of course she wasn't out for long. Nikaria was soon back on her feet, trying to convince the old lion to let her out. Why convince him? He was standing in the doorway, effectively blocking her in. Which left her to pace the house.

And where did she end up but her son's room. The native leader stood in the doorway, looking over the room. How she missed him horribly. She walked through his room, careful not to move a thing out of place. She wanted to looked exactly as he had left it. Nikaria headed onto the balcony and looked up at the stars and sighed. She knew he'd have a problem getting to sleep without the stars. The chief guessed he had inherited it from her. She always needed the stars to relax her enough to fall asleep. But soon her thoughts drifted to Spark also. Where was the little dragon? Hopefully he wasn't caught with Droka. Even though they were inseparable, Nikaria didn't want Spark to get hurt since he was so small.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 20, 2011 4:47 am

"Eep." Hm, odd. Things didn't usually go 'eep' inside the palace. The cause of said noise was the eldest female ramma of Carrel's. She had ascended the palace wall, and now pulled herself onto the rim of the balcony, sniffing at the Chief. Yep; this one did smell a little like Carrel. But the scent was faint, and mostly on Nikaria's hands. The animal de-fluffed a little in disappointment. There had been hope that their caretaker had snuck in when none of them were looking--though all of them had watched the warriors then unconscious chief return, but without Carrel and one other. "Eeep ..." Now what were they to do? The tamer had told them to stay where they were, but they were anxious as to why the panther hadn't come back yet. Normally, if he was gone for a day or more, he set them up in a small fenced area. But there was no preparation or fenced area this time. Just a missing Carrel.

Nikaria jumped a little when she heard the ramma. It had taken her by a bit of surprise since she had been so caught up in her thoughts. She looked to the creature at it sniffed her hand then got disappointed. Were they looking for that panther? These little ramma did smell slightly like him. The only thing they smelled more was was vegetation. But the chief sighed some and offered her hand to the little herd animal. Maybe hoping to give it a pet. "Your tamer isn't back yet? I wonder what he's doing to keep him. I guess someone will have to take care of you until he gets back." she said with a small sigh. She'd gladly do it of course. She was a Tamer as well after all.

But her mind was pulled from the fluffy beast as her thoughts drifted to where their caretaker was. Surely it hadn't been the panther. He was no warrior, she knew that. But why did he go off and leave his herd unattended? Maybe she'd go check the forest once the general to check on his own family. Nikaria looked to the ramma once more and smiled some. "Do you want me to go look for your tamer?" she asked. She hadn't really thought about if rammas could even understand speech. It was just nice to talk to something that didn't take her as a royal figure. Just some native that could provide care.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 20, 2011 5:09 am

The ramma sniffed the offered hand, then nuzzled it a little. Ramma could be quite fierce animals, but when tame they really were sociable. The female heard the words 'look for' and 'tamer' and gave an agreeing "Eepe!" The rest of the herd would stay put, she knew. She'd told them too after all. With Carrel unexpectedly missing, she was the one in charge, after all. With the help of this smelling-like-Carrel person, perhaps she would be able to find her tamer and properly scold him for being away too long.

The bright yellow-furred ramma carefully climbed onto Nikaria's shoulder, hooves delicate and not putting too much weight down. Trees were okay to dig into. People were not. Carrel had been very mindful in that lesson.

Nikaria smiled and when the ramma nuzzled her hand, and she pet the beast before it eeped excitedly at her second question. Well that was a definite yes. She was again surprised when the fluffy ramma got up onto her shoulder with such a delicate touch. Seemed these ramma were trained well. The chief simply nodded to the yellow herd animal and glanced over the rail of the balcony, seeing the general leave.

Oh how young she felt again. Sneaking out of the palace, off to do something a few people had told her not to do. It was like she was back in her prime again. It also reminded her of how she had met Droka's father. The chief had sneaked out that night as well for a walk. And that's when she met the wolf who was father to her prince. But getting her mind back on point, she glanced around the main doorway, seeing no guards, and ran for the caves. Once safely in the shadows, she slowed her pace to make sure the ramma didn't fall off. She didn't want to drop the poor thing.

After a jump over the ever raging waters, she was back in the forest, letting the ramma follow her tamer's scent. Surely that nose was sensitive enough to pick it up. "Alright. Lead the way."
