Kei is the last of her kind, the Demonata. The Demonata, at least, in the dimension she's from, are a vicious race, both physically and psychologically. They strive on pain and negativity, and disorder. They're cold, cruel, and sadistic beings who want nothing but the worst for other races. In essence though, they are similar to literal reapers, most of them with the intentions of taking the souls of the weak and dying, however through the generations strayed away from original purpose and merely became malevolent and dangerous. However, when Kei was born, she was the only dangerous threat to their race. She locked away from Demonata nature at birth, unconsciously, and became the very defiant opposite of her race's traits. She was just, kind, and peaceful. However, she was more powerful than many of her kind. In reality born of royal blood within her race, she was naturally imbued with more power than the others wished her to have with her mentality, knowing she would one day see teh evil in what they do, and seeing her as the fall of their kind.
And so when Kei was 15, they took her, and Sari, a fellow Demonata, tricked and fought her, until she was put under a sleep spell. A powerful sleep spell that put Kei in a stasis until the spell was lifted, which was supposed to only be possible for Sari to do, and they sent her into the demon dimension, the dimension where the Demonata acquire their summoning familiars, where she'd float in a stasis sleep for over 5 centuries. However the power of a Demonata is extended through her familiars, and while they took her before she got full access to them, they still found their connection to who would be their master. It was her demons that broke the sleep spell, and it was the combined power of her demons that recovered her scythe and woke her, and threw her into another dimension, right onto the grounds of Mahora Academy of Japan.
It was here she was recovered by a teacher and slowly trained to recover her memories and powers she lost through so many centuries of sleep, recovering her complete royal blood power. All for the purpose of taking out her old competitor. Sari, who had terrorized this school for a while now, and because Demonata could only be killed by their own kind, Kei had to be the one to send her away. She met friends, she made enemies, and she led her own small group of trusted companions into battle with Sari, until eventually after throwing the battle into an alternate dimension temporarily to fight at full power against Sari, killed the only other remaining of her kind. However afterwards she wished to remain at Mahora Academy with Kotarou, who also aided her in her newly recovered Demon self, Keitirisu, who only spells trouble for Kei's future mentality while she constantly struggles to become the dominant personality.
This timeline of Mahora however never did meet a happy end. Circumstances that were met by a being named Erklao, and the additional company of Allen and Lucresia, the school could do nothing but fall, several students meeting unusual ends and the well being destroyed. And so Kei took Kotarou, and escaped the dimensional timeline, helping them both escape a sure demise and arrive at the same school. Same school, but different circumstances, where Kei feels she will be more able to help prevent the same fall that the other Mahora met.
Personality:
Kei in her dominant personality is lawful good. She's defiant in the nature of the Demonata, who are supposed to be evil, sadistic, and take pleasure from chaos, however, Kei is the opposite. She's one of the more powerful beings of her kind, thus why she had to be sealed away in another dimension, because her kind nature would undo them all should she be allowed to realize they had to be rid of. She's protective of anyone close to her remotely, and has a sense of justice. She's particularly partial to Kotarou, not completely sure of her absolute feelings towards the inu, however aware she loves to be around the girl.
Keitirisu is her "real self" the pure Demonata self that was locked in her and dominated by her kinder side. Keitirisu is far more powerful than Kei herself, who still only slowly regains all her power from being put to sleep for centuries and then suddenly being awoken by her familiars. Her Demonata side is harsh, cold, and loves to toy with people, especially Kotarou. She's representative of all the natural negativity that Kei holds in herself, the reason for Keitirisu's level of mischief.
Other:
Demonata cannot be killed by anything except their own race. While Kei can still feel the full extent of what are normally lethal injuries, she won't die, merely heal up eventually. Also, the magic of a Demonata appears in the manifestation of ribbons, and hers are dark red.
Demonata magic is not the same as regular magic, and cannot be affected by magic cancellation as it is not picked up as magic, but specific energy channeled into offensive/defensive use, like ki, and cannot be absorbed by magic means or manipulated by magic users. Her abilities are purely her own simply because of race and origin.
