Good evening, I was poking around the guild while I have some off time. Mostly just wasting time and thinking about my first day back at classes and the new semester. I think the idea of having a little area to keep track of your personal bento making is a great idea and I hope noone minds I make my own. I likely wont have much time to update it once I get elbow deep into schoolwork, but I always find its nice to look back on journal type things.

My mom bought me my first bento box when I was visiting home for the summer, we were in a random shop next to one of my favorite seafood restaurants in the 'Asian town' area of my city (Crab Hut ftw~ ) I was so excited when I saw the white and lime green two tiered bento with little cartoon frogs on it x3 I love frogs for some reason, even having pet tadpoles and frogs irl. Now I'm half nervous that someone on campus will spy me using one and say its childish. Well today was my first day of classes, I only had one - Logic and Conditioning (a psych class I'm taking as an elective) Tomorrow however I'll be on campus from about 1-2pm until 10 so its a good opportunity to use it for the first time. I might eventually get my camera working to take a picture of ti but its lime green and white, as I earlier noted. The top tier is 350 ml and the smaller one is 230ml. The top bit has this small clear attachment that in addition to having adorable frog faces on it, holds a set of chopsticks, and a small fork, and a spoon. The band that holds it together is lime green, in keeping with the frog theme.

I'm going to take the lead of someone else in the 'Journal' subforum and keep track of my bento making by five or so meal increments instead of making a new post for every bento. With the way my classes are set up I may only need one or two bentos per week.

Monday Sept. 13

I made some pad thai tonight for dinnner, so I think I'll make that one of the tiers instead of rice. And I havent thought about what to put in the smaller tier yet. Probably something involving swiss chard, as its growing in the garden.... But I feel like I'll want something more in the top box other than just the chard. I'll have to think about it and I'll update this later with what I decided on. I dont actually need the bento until tomorrow afternoon/evening for the break between classes so I have some time to think about it.

Tues. 14th

Successfully packed the pad thai into my larger tier (did not know it could hold so much, a whole bowl) just made a faux aluminum separater thing and put the roasted stems next to the greens which I sauteed with garlic and then topped with a drizzle of oyster sauce.

Tues. 20th

Missed out on eating a bento at school today! Ended up waking up at 11 then had to choose inbetween making a bento or showering >.>; And my hair looked a mess so showering took priority. By the time I got out it was time to get dressed and drive off to campus. Was so bummed out that when I came home I made a dinner that wouldve been in the bento hahah. Ginger and Garlic rice with fried egg ontop.

Also its my birthday this saturday! If I was more organised I wouldve thought about that and made a special birthday bento or something >.>

No bento this week, My parents surprised me with an airplane trip to Vegas for the weekend! I flew out Friday morning at 6am and just got back into town last night at 11pm. I felt naughty for skipping my anthro class, but at least I have a good friend that is willing to email me the notes. I had a fantastic time! I think I should make a flashy bento next week to celebrate aftermath style, but midterms are coming up and I dont know if Ill have the time to do anything really special.

Monday Oct. 3rd

Took my 'Stay Fresh n Fit' soup container to school today, and half of my bento box. I've been feeling a tad under the weather today so I thought it was a perfect excuse to try out my soup "bento" for the first time :3! I ended up making some butternut squash soup with tapioca in it, and had planned on leaving the house early so I could study a little before my class (First midterm today! Scaryscary!!) but ended up being juuuuust ontime with no bento eating time to spare~

As soon as I finished my midterm I was too excited to just hang around so I headed home, eating the soup as an aftermath now x3! Its delicious and perfect for the Fall season and chills~ Also I dont want to sound too optimistic but I think I did a good job on the midterm heart

Just got back from Cuba a few days ago. My bfs family paid for a "family vacation" and invited me along. It was.... interesting. Anyhow, I'm back a school and excited to make some bentos during the new semester. There are several days wehere I have to be there all day and have long breaks.

I woke up early this morning and mde some steel-cut oats to pack away in my to go soup bowl. It was really good, but so filling I couldnt eat it all and had to pack up the last bit of it to take home! I made it with only four inredients pretty much, and it took about 40ish minutes. The steel-cut oats are the unrefined version of oatmeal, more healthy, filling, and delicious than the instant oatmeal. And you can add anything to it flavor wise, its fantastic. I even left some for my boyfriend so the one cup made like four plus cups of oatmeal~
