The Wallflower is about a girl who was called "ugly" by a boy, the first and only person to whom she confessed her love. This incident sparks a life change, and as a result Sunako shuns all forms of beauty, both in herself as well as in life. Concerned by her change for the worst, Sunako's aunt, the owner of a beautiful mansion where four very handsome students live, offers the guys free rent in her mansion if they can turn Sunako into a "perfect lady" (referred to in Japan as the titular Yamato Nadeshiko).
While the four of them manage to make Sunako physically beautiful enough to become a lady, the problem lies with her attitude and interests (which Sunako has no intention of changing). Up until the most recent release in the story, they've managed to convince Sunako's aunt that her niece is indeed a lady befitting the mansion in which they live (and prevent the rent from skyrocketing to triple the required amount). However, in reality Sunako has not changed considerably. Sunako has the tendency to spurt out in a nose bleed when seen by bright creatures, especially around Kyohei.

rahna O_____o That good huh? Is the anime out in English? The anime is quite funny, even if it does seem a little dark--there's a lot of comic relief. I believe there is an English dub for the anime, but the manga is definitely out in English. I love this anime but I haven't completely read the manga (I tend to be bad at that...). There is a live action of wallflower, too, I believe.

Yeah, I'm bad at that too. There's a lot of live-action versions of different animes now, I can hardly believe it.

Yeah, there's even a live-action based on Ouran High School Host Club (if you've read/watched it). It's japanese, and I'm a bit surprised with how they shot it (it reminds me more of a Tawainese show than japanese). However, after the 1st episode, it's not that bad. Um...as for the manga, good point ^.^ But there are some manga (can't remember the names right now) that have had an otaku online version of translation in English but not actually released in English--but I usually don't read them since they're OK but not great most of the time~

My sister and I are a healthy way into it, we love that live-action drama. Hehehehe, I'm glad you didn't take offense at that. (I know some who would.) I assume you're talking about a lot of the scanlations that are on manga sites. I'm pretty sure a handful of those aren't officially out in English, so perhaps I ought to take a pretty silver fork and eat my own words.

No, that's okay, I assumed you didn't personally mean any offense at it razz But, if you liked that live-action, I'm way positive you'll like the anime of Wallflower wink It kinda has the same intentions...at least with all the cute guys! biggrin
