One of my new favorites is Angelic Layer. blaugh Bride of the Water God is about a girl name Soah getting sacrifice. She and the water god Habeak ended up falling in love with each other. The Emperor of the god want Habeak to side with him to go against the ex-emperor Shin'non. The ex-emporer is fire and Habeak is water, thats y.

(Though she was very much a disagreeable character.)
