Kelly Beacon and his friends away from the city, have decided to try to take a break from all of the supernatural forces that have caused Jasper, Kelly, Charlie, and Massy a deal of stress.

"Ian, I think you need a vacation."

"I do not. How dare you even insinuate that I take a break when I've got a thesis and two exams breathing down my neck? Oh, that's right, you don't go to college, so I suppose I shouldn't expect you to know what it's like."

Jackson Meyers threw his hands up in the air, exasperated. "Alright, I get it. Another lonely night with the ladies it is."

"Excuse me for having better things to spend my money rather than strippers and ten dollar drinks." The elder of the two, Damian, shot his brother a glare before turning his attention back to the computer.

And so, suitably rejected, Jackson turned and started out towards the streets of town. Maybe a nice walk would help him cool his soon-to-be homicidal impulses towards his less than friendly sibling.

Kelly Beacon scratched his redhead, and looked at the map while Jasper drove. Where were they? Was this another city?

Jasper watched ahead, her eyes and concentration on the road, while Charlie watched out her window. Poe was in the middle of the backseat passengers, in sleep mode until needed. Massy, sitting nervously on the other side. He was not used to being the passenger of his own car.

Jackson kept his hands deep in the pockets of his dark leather jacket as he continued on his way to the bar not too far from the apartments. So what if he spent some money on a good time every now and then? He payed his half of the rent, so he didn't see any reason for his brother to be bashing on him about it.

'He's the kind to be gray before he hits forty.' Jackson thought with a shake of his head.

According to the map, they were not very far from their city, so it didn't seem to be that big of an issue to get back home if need be. Kelly was no longer worried about being lost or anything, not that he was worried about Jazz's driving, as far as he was able to determine, she was much more reliable with her driving than with her cooking.

"I'm thinking we should stop somewhere and rest a while, any ideas?" Jazz finally asked at a stoplight.

Charlie just shook her head, since she didn't know the place, she had no idea what there would even be to do.

Kelly looked up from the map. "Well, I'm hungry, we could go to a restaurant or something."

Massy wasn't sure what to do. He sort of missed going to some of the parties people at the college put on. The drinking, the food, the bonding while getting wasted, it was fun. "Let's go to someplace we can get a drink at. I hear that some bars around here have good food and entertainment too."

"But you're vegetarian, and most bars that do have anything to eat aren't usually vegetarian friendly." Jazz frowned, though she wasn't sure that she believed he actually was. Sociopaths usually didn't care about animals, didn't they?

Meanwhile, Jackson finally made his way into the bar, sliding onto a stool at the counter and ordering his usual drink-- a simple beer. The hum of the conversations going on around him, along with the music that filled the large room, made him feel sort of at peace, I guess you could say. He turned in his seat, looking around the bar for new faces to work his magic on. After all, there wasn't a girl who'd resisted his charm yet.

There was a sudden thump on the top of the car. Charlie's dog ears perked up, causing the hair hiding them to rustle a bit. She had a feeling they had taken on a new passenger. Nex, the alien fox-man she was betting, one of the ones who had turned her from normal human girl into to husky dog-person apparently to help them repopulate their home planet. She had resentments about that. Was she just supposed to lay down for some canine/humanoid alien and have litters just to bring back an almost dead race? Apparently that's what they expected.

Massy and Jazz immediately stopped arguing about what she seemed to think was a questionable lifestyle considering the young college man had been a serial killer almost two months before. Sure, some sort of dimensional rift had caused it so that he never actually killed anyone, and he claims to have not killed a person since, but she didn't believe he was sincere at all about being remorseful, Kelly being the only one who had complete faith in Massy being true to his word. "What was that?" Jazz asked.

"It's that fox alien. He's on the roof." Kelly replied, confirming Charlie's suspicions.

After much deliberation, it was at last decided that they would go to a bar, whether their hitchhiker was game for the idea or not, and since it was all Massy's idea, they let him choose. They found one near an apartment complex, and decided to check it out.

It didn't take Jackson long to find a good catch-- young, blonde, with a nice rack to boot. A fresh transfer to the local college, he was told. And then he was told about her hulking boyfriend in the bathroom.

Well, Jack, you win some, you lose some.

Defeated, he wandered back over to the bar counter, where his beer was waiting for him. Well, a nice drink couldn't hurt. Then, it would be time for round two.

At last they pulled in and parked. Reactivation the android Poe, they all went inside. Nexaron, jumped off of the car and tagged along behind Charlie, the half-dog half African-American.

Jazz tossed her blond head from side to side looking the place over, she frowned. She was not thinking that she hated bars necessarily, but she hadn't been to very many since losing her memory and coming to live with the struggling author, Kelly.

The identical redheads entered after, and finally Charlie and the fox-eared Nex, came in last.

They sat at a couple of tables near the bar front, pushing the tables together.
