Other online games experience, tell us the bad and the good games you had found online other than gaia online.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 03, 2011 2:52 am

Final Fantasy XI, the first FF MMORPG, and still my favorite compared to XIV which isn't that bad either. But XI will still hold a dear place in my heart, since I shocked a lot of people (including a friend at the time who's still an Admin there) by defeating Absolute Virtue through a lucky break and sheer willpower XD

Quake 4, a game that's terrible but I still play from time to time on what (very) few online servers still exist. Not quite as fun as Halo or CoD, but even now it still retains a few decent moments.

Aside from those, too many more to list XD

Well, where to begin?

MMoRPs often got a restriction for their servers related to where you live.
So most of the time you can't go sneaking arround MMo servers across the world.

So i think it would be nice to have an universal client for some F2P MMos...

Before 2008 i played a lot World of Warcraft, nearly everyone knows this, and I wouldn't recommend it, coz you always have to put hard work behind your efforts. And a game shouldn't degenerate to work, it should be fun, right? xD

So I looked into some others I can recommend (at least on the european servers they're fun):

- S4League (kind a like a F2P fantasy shooter mmo with rpg elements)
I never had so much fun, wielding swords in a shooter.

- Rappelz (classic F2PMMo)
Not too much candy for the eye, but content and concept is always challenging, and if you get addicted, you can play zounds of hours leveling beyond 160 with pets like angels, wolfs and white dragons fighting alongside you. The PvP system grants you conquering dungeons and own/ defend them against other guilds.

- NosTale (cute F2PMMo)
Oh I loved this game, although i haven't been the target audience. The characters in Nostale bear a resemblance to the avatars in Gaia.
In 2009 / 10 the restrictions and GTC of paysafecards weren't too tight, so you were always able to buy off some valid psc-codes up to 100€ (abt. $135) for farmed ingame gold from other users. You didn't have to be into the high end content to make a fortune, so some users were able to purchase a new netbook, celly and so on by saving money and i was addicted to get paid for playing *g* The families (guilds go by that name there) still meet across Germany...)
And I never experienced a game again, in which u can wield a special class brawling with your pajama pillow!!!

- Runes of Magic (F2PMMoRPG)
This game got a big similarity to World of Warcraft, with some more freedom about your own house, guild castle, outfit style and skilling. You can mix up to three of common known classes in one character and always have two of them in charge granting you skills related on the classes mixed. So for example a priest with a warrior in second can become a brawling monk, used for melee while healing and protecting yourself... It's becoming an obsession with even all those bugs, the unbalanced PvP system and critical errors, kicking you out of the game. RoM always got a huge content, tons of events running and additional minigames.

- Puzzle Pirates (F2PpuzzleMMo)
Like the name implies, you will have a pirate character adventuring through a world full of tiny isles, minigaming yourself to the top. You can get a crew together (eventually an own ship, beeing the Captain) and sail across the world. The minigames are seperated into carpentering, bilging, rigging, navigating, sailing and some games describe alchemy, crafting, tailoring and so on. You won't level up there, just getting some stages in your specifications of what game you have a good grasp of, collecting tons of achievements and you will need gained gold for clothing (bit like Gaia).
This really is fun for hours of playing, but there is a catch, big time...
Your whole account will be deleted when you don't check in every two weeks. I have been on vacation for three weeks. When I came back home, I had to make an entirely new account. After that, I couldn't be bothered to get into this game again. The client is huge, too... Even, if this is no real recommendation, you should have looked into it at least one time - especially if you like Gaia! *Arrrrrrrrrrr* wink

So there we are... Gaia Online!
Everyone on this planet with access to a computer, netbook, laptop, ipad like device, smartphone that is capable of dialing into the www. can get into Gaia... Fora, housing, chatting, shopping... (i could go on two whole days listing all possibilities, so we all know, why we're here, right?) xp

There are a lot of browsergames I like, too. But it's questionable, if they are available in the U.S. so i will spare you to prolong this post with such information.

Last but not least Offline-Games: To make it short, Final Fantasy VII, VIII, X, XII, XIII. I truly recommend part XII exclaim

GTA, 3 + all sequels of all towns and editions no matter what paddle or board.
Saints Row 2
Mercenaries I, II
Mass Effect I, II
Tales of
(the whole plot, prefering smile Vesperia
Suikoden I, II, V, Tactics
Vandal Hearts I
heart and II (but part 2 is disgusting long-winded)
Tekken 2, 3, Tag, 4, 5, Ressurection, 6
Dynasty Warriors I
Dynasty Tactics I, II

and fans of Jack Black should definitely check out:
Brütal Legend

Well i think this is enough for now, and yeah i tend to be nerdy sometimes *g*

The Idea for additional recommends supported by
http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=22110381
Thx Luna, i will add something to your post, too, there are a lot of games to come
wink

And if you want the most hilariously addictive Freeware game you've ever played/will ever play, A Game with a Kitty is what you want, it's like the classic Mario and Zelda titles (among other classic games) of the past mashed together with a lovably idiotic feline protagonist XD It also has two sequels out currently, though the second game doesn't have a feline protagonist, but is still fun XD

But The best online experience is found in APB (all points bulletin)...is like gta in a Massively Multiplayer Online world. it will take hours just to create your character and car. plus it has more than 120k players each day. Very nice guys very nice game cool

Meh..SO meny things ot talk about... Where to start..?

1- World of Warcraft. I Actually dislike this game, I just felt like saying what happened to me one it, which made it an okay game xD
1-World of Warcraft: Im sad to announce that I played this game, but yes I did, for a 2 weeks or so. I joined a Private server- Anyway, I was in the badlands (I was a Lvl 80 Pally for the Alliance) I was flying around on my Dragon mount and I was so high in the air I could only see dots. When I look down I see a lvl 60 something fighting a horde guy, well I wait...Wait...Wait.. Till the Alliance guy's hp was about 20% then I dropped off my mount. I fell and fell then 10 ft from the bottem I acctive a spell to ignore all dmg for 12 secs. I Land and heal the Alliance guy and then watched him to kill Horde guy. He says thanks and I reply with "No problem, its my job to fall out of the Sky and heal people" Then I fly away. (True story)

(Man that was a large intro wasnt it? xD)

2-Guild wars: I have spent...So..Meny..Hours..In this game...I think im at 2,000? Not as bad as my guild leader (He has 12,000 hours, THATS A YEAR AND 3 MONTHS.) And personally I'd say look into this game, yes you have ot buy it for like 20 bucks at walmart, but you get all expansions and such and theres NO monthly charge, if you buy this game PM me and I'll help you on it, IM BEAST. lol

I'll post some more later, my brain is Confulzzled from all the intro Typing I've done xD
