Well we just survived the first month of our craftastic voyage. I was happy to see some very fabulous people joining our ranks and sharing their work, ideas and lives.
As for your wondrous captain, this month was wrought with challenges and stress. It started off with my cat almost dying (being saved by perseverance in finding him medical treatment, aid and the help from many fabulous people.) Once the struggle with my feline companions was close to an end I had to deal with silly college bureaucracy and start my fall classes. Once I started to settle a bit on the college front, I had to deal with getting my son prepped for school (Dr. appointments, paperwork and meetings, OH MY!) Of course, we didn’t even get to settle into his new school pattern because, yesterday, his 2nd day of school, we got into a car accident! My car was totaled and everyone was okay except for me. I went to the ER and there are some very large swollen spots on my body, bruises aplenty and a nice bump on the forehead. I have a concussion and the Dr prescribed Norco and rest for the next few days.
But I am having trouble sleeping, in spite of the happy pills, because the pain is persistent and my thoughts are racing over what my “game plan” will be for next week.
In spite of everything that has happened in my personal life, I have tried to be a good captain and fellow crafter by checking in with you all in the guild as much as humanly possible. Since there is so much going on right now, I would LOVE to have some Crew members to help with some of the finer details of guild life. For a general description of what I am looking for in a Crew member, there is a post on the main forum entitled, “Join the Crew!” If you are interested, please PM me.

What to expect for September:
For the month of September I am hoping to host another contest… something to appeal to our creative sides. Contest details will be posted about mid-month. If you have any contest suggestions for the future, please post them in the main forum!
A new poll will be set up in the Gaia Related subforum to see what you all think about Alchemy!
At the close of this announcement, I will be setting up the September “Monthlies” for each of the subforums. This might take a little bit of time due to long-term sitting equaling a lot of pain (in fact, this announcement took me a while to type up from having to go get horizontal several times!) so please bear with me.
