Personality: Normally quiet and lazy, he isn't above starting a conversation with just about anyone, depending on the situation. He may even start making small talk to the foe before and during the battle. He prefers tea to most other drinks and peace before battle. He is the standard guy with a hopefully quiet life.
Physical Appearance: Shu is a thin man of only average height, his own uniform rather tight to his body due to his own thinness. He almost always appears tired or sleepy, even when far from it. Really, he's perhaps one of the most average looking captains.
Biography: Shu heralds from the Kyoraku family and follows Shunsui Kyoraku's philosophies of politeness and peace. While there are many differences between the two, they often talked on warm summer days. Upon hearing Shunsui's thoughts about stepping down, Shu, who was in fact named after the captain, decided he would attempt to take a spot as captain, aiming for the Eighth Division. However, upon taking his exam, Shu was placed in the Third Division. When he inquired as to why, it was explained that his attitude was much more connected to Oblivion than most and his zanpakuto, which he kept in the shape of a large, bladed fan, could attack quickly and defend just as well.
As Captain of the Third Division, Shu is still relatively new, though he has done reading on past captains of the squad. Almost adaptively and reflexively, he took up habits of both Shunsui, and former captain Gin Ichimaru. He can usually be seen walking around and eating a dried fruit or sleeping. Whenever a fight does occur, his reaction leans towards his Kyoraku roots, although he has been known to belittle his opponents much like Gin used to, but only momentarily.

Name: Shizukana soyokaze
Spirit: Spirit
Sealed Description: While sealed, Shizukana appears to be a large fan, about as long as Shu is tall, with hidden blades at the ends of the folds, only noticeable upon close examination or from experience. Shu normally carries it closed so that it appears to be a long stick at his side. He also usually fights with it like that, only opening it to block a wide arc or throw it as a weapon.

Shikai Attacks
Peaceful Movement: Placing reiatsu in his fan, Shu throws it, leaving behind a clone that can appear to take damage. After a short period of time, he appears wherever his fan is at with it in his hand. He must utilize this within a few seconds. The change is seamless, making it appear as if he hadn't moved until he reappears.
Breeze of Darts: Placing reiatsu in his fan, he opens it and swings the weapon, sending a shower of darts (equal to the number of visible folds of the fan and proportional in power) at the foe.
Gust Javelin: Placing his reiatsu in his fan, Shu closes his fan and swings it, sending one large and powerful javelin of air at the foe. This move is meant for penetration and damage over number and confusion like Breeze of Darts.
Bankai Release Tear them apart, Idaina Arashi
Bankai: Along with his first fan from Shikai, Shu obtains this fan as well, wielding both at once.
Bankai Attacks:
Hurricane Force: Shu can create massive and powerful gusts of wind by swinging his fan(s). They are strong enough to easily cause damage to the average foe.
Wind Collaboration: Shu can put his fans together for a larger defense or attack area, using them like a two sided bladed staff or large circular shield.
Eye of the Storm: Combining and spinning his fans like a turbine, Shu attempts to forcibly draw the opponent in with a powerful suction technique. Even if the move does not fully get dragged to the dangerously rotating fans, the wind may still cause damage. The technique is double sided since the rotating is so violent it often wears out, and sometimes injures, Shu's hands.

Skills:
Ambidextrous: Shu is ambidextrous and relies mostly on his speed and quick thinking (both of which he comments is really rather slow compared to some) to fight. His left hand, however, is weaker than his right since he does not use two weapons often.
Air Transport: Although Shinigami can air walk, Shu also is able to fly along upon his fan as a type of transportation, though truly it is more for aesthetics.
Anti-projectile Specialist: Despite using mostly ranged attacks, Shu's specialty is at deflecting projectiles. He can wave his fan with enough force to change the direction of any projectile, if only slightly. While he may still get hit, it could turn a move that ensures his death into one that proved only highly fatal.
Shunpo Expert: While he isn't the fastest or strongest of the Gotei 13, he does move shockingly fast for one who appears to be so lazy and possibly even frail. He claims it's so he doesn't die, but will often joke that it's really so he can get out of paperwork.
Zanjutsu Master: Though not an offensive fighter, Shu is a very good balance of defense and offense, though he prefers the former. His skills with his unusual fan blade have made him used to light or thin weapons, thus he specializes with anything long and lightweight.
Incredible Reiatsu: Since his weapon relies a lot on his reiatsu levels, needing it for the massive wind techniques, and his ability to fly on it as if it were a plane or leaf even. Thanks to it's great size, he can even take a nap on it as it sails through the skies.
