The morning Sun was out, the sky was blue and the dark furred renari slipped out of her shrine with a mischievous grin upon her little face. What sort of havoc could she wreak today? The little trickster wondered flicking her three elegant tails and with wand in paw she left her shrine behind heading into the trees keeping close to the path as she searched for the perfect spot to place her trap.
It would be hilarious to see someone wriggling upside-down by their feet, Katsumi thought as she found a good spot, fairly concealed and the nearby tree was thick above so she could hide despite her bright red and gold kimono. Bright and Clever green eyes surveyed the area as she checked no one was around but this was a path quite a few renari did use; no one was up walking just yet.
Perfect.
Waving her yew wand she called for a rope in Latin nothing happened, at least for a few moments eventually a rope did appeared and Katsumi huffed, if only it had come faster, she'd have to keep practicing and think of a faster way to get her items here... that slight frustration aside she began setting up her trap. Once she finished tying the last knot she took another look at her masterpiece, yes this trick was old but oh so effective still.
Now came time to conceal it using a rope similar coloured to the forest path she carefully put debris over it using just a touch of magic to make the rope blend more and only when she was satisfied did she slip into the high branches of the tree weaving gracefully in and out of the branches to see the road below, yet without her soon to be victim knowing she was there or being able to see her, all Katsumi had to do now was wait, despite her anxiousness for a good laugh, unfortunately since she couldn’t conjure a renari.

A black head popped out of a tiny hole in the side of a shrine. Scanning the area with his pale grey eyes, Sirius decided it was safe and wiggled himself free of his prison.
The fresh air felt so nice, he closed his eyes and sat back for many minutes. Felt like so long since he'd been outside. Coped up in that basement for weeks. Sometimes months. This time, it had been months. He couldn't take it anymore. Food and water was easy to sneak away from the ones who lived above him, but he had no one to check on the outside for him. To make sure it was safe. They were still looking for him. This he knew. They'd never stop. He wasn't sure if they had traced him over this way, yet. You could never be too careful. No matter how much he disliked being coped up inside all the time, it would be worse if he was caught. At least on his own, he could get outside every now and than.
Opening his eyes, the male Renari settled on the direction he found himself looking. There was nothing special about it, but he didn't care where he went. Anywhere was better than staying inside for another day. Bounding off at a run, a smile plastered on his face, Sirius moved hiis ears forward. Not paying attention to his surroundings as he should be.
It didn't take very long. One minute, he was enjoying the quiet of the morning. The next, he was upside down, hanging by one paw. His first thought was, he'd been found. So the only natural reaction would be to....
"Ugh!" came from the male, as he thrashed about to test the strength of the ropes. Flinging his body upwards, Sirius was able to grab hold of the rope with his two front paws. Being on the run taught you a few tricks. "You are lucky my wand was taken! But I won't be that easy of a reward!" And he started gnawing on the rope with his sharp teeth.

From the tree top Katsumi caught sight of some poor soul walking down the path, he didn't seem like he was paying too much attention either from the looks of it. She grinned, every step he took closer to her trap made her excitement grow, forcing herself not to fidget she waited and it happened, for a moment but this renari's face was priceless and Katsumi burst out laughing from her vantage point.
Laughter filled the forest as Katsumi slid down to a lower branch with as much grace as she had slipping up the tree. She lay on the lower branch with her wand in paw as Sirius tried to chew himself free. "You're caught! You should have seen your face." she chided triumphantly flicking her tails. The mention of a wand intrigued her, she didn’t know any other Renari to use such magic and why had it been taken? But first one more bit of fun, she couln't resist.
"Oh you have one of these too?" she said flicking the wand a light bolt came out and the rope started thinning above Sirius.

Sirius quickly stopped his gnawing of the rope at the sound of the voice. His head snapped towards it, not fully taking in the innocent look on her face and actions. Fear was gripping his heart too tightly for logic. The grey eyes were narrowed into slits and an angry smirk was on his lips. It opened to retort back when he felt the rope above him slacken. Just as quickly as he found himself in the air, he now found himself on his back on the ground. He couldn't figure out why she would do that when she had the murdering Black in her clutches. There was a good ransom on his head.
Nonetheless, he was free. He wasn't complaining. Now to make sure he never went back...
Flipping until he was squarely back on his four paws on solid ground, Sirius showed his sharp canines in a threat. "My face is the least of anyone's worries." Keeping his eyes fixed on the other Renari, Sirius stepped back a few paces so he wasn't in the way of any danger. He wouldn't strike back until she made a move towards him.

"But it was so funny, your face was hilarious!" Katsumi simply grinned "Hey, you can relax now you know." with an exasperated sigh Katsumi continued "Geeze you're no fun, and so stingy can't even take a joke." renari were so stiff lately. Oh well that laugh she had was well worth this guy's growl. Katsumi raised her brow as she realized Sirius wasn't backing down. Katsumi slipped her wand into her obi.
She landed in front of Sirius with a mischievous grin knowing it would bother him She couldn't help it, playing with him was too much fun. "My name's Katsumi." though she landed close enough to spook him; he seemed to her he was rather spooked since her appearance and had been trying to distance himself from her like someone had been chasing him.
"So what's your name?" Katsumi wasn't one to keep up with current events. She didn't know this renai was wanted, or why he was being chased. She didn't care either, it was too much work to care about something like that Katsumi's light tipped ears perked as she waited for his name. He seemed awfully familiar now that she got a good look at him.. close to someone she used to know.

"Funny?" Sirius repeated, like he'd never heard the word before. Slowly, his face lost the angry expression as his mind slowly registered on the word. It had been a while since he heard such lovely words as that spoken out loud. Only when he was listening to the ones who lived above him. Which was often. It made his seclusion better to spy and listen in on them. Like it made him remember he wasn't alone. He wouldn't admit it to anyone, but he was lonely.
Lifting his tail out of the way, the male Renari moved a few steps away from the other, more for personal space than anything. He was becoming far too used to being alone. It was making him jumpy and paranoid. Not at all like himself.
Sirius sighed, feeling suddenly very tired. "I am sorry," he said, closing his eyes and lowering his head slightly. She had done it as a joke. Not to capture him for the ransom. Clearly she didn't know anything about it, a fact he found hard to believe. He must be very far from his hometown. Perhaps it was taking his pursuers a while to catch up. "That was...Uncalled for." His ears drooped a little as he opened his eyes to look back at her. "I'm not sure I can tell you that." There was a chance she'd change her mind about catching him if she learned who he was. Or that he was an escaped criminal. "But if you must call me something...Padfoot."

"Yeah funny as in haha you got pranked." Came a retort to his bland comment trying to make him lighten up, had he seriously never had any fun in his life? Katsumi wondered but his expression softened finally, she smiled maybe there was a bit more to his fear than he was telling. But Katsumi didn’t care, maybe eventually she would have some fun with him, and he might even prove a worthy accomplice, something made her think so though she couldn't put a paw on it.
"As uncalled for as it was it was still funny," she paused trying to add a touch of suspense and thoughtfulness. "Perhaps you would join me in my next trick? then you would see for yourself how fun it is." that same mischievous smile crossed her face again. "Padfoot it is then, it's nice to meet you." she held out her paw but perhaps this may help.
"The past is past, and the present is a gift." she quoted someone unknown to her.

"Mm. So long as you weren't scared." The words were said slowly and lowly, as Sirius moved his head to look up in the tree she had just came down from. He couldn't explain it, but he had the sinking feeling he would regret it if he scared her away. It wasn't the fact he was sure she would repay him with a trick. He'd just...Regret it. He wasn't sure why.
And this bothered him. If he couldn't even understand a simple thing about himself, the ones chasing him were sure to locate him. He would make a mistake. Let down his guard.
The male Renari couldn't help the frown that appeared on his face as he turned his grey eyes back on Katsumi. She seemed so...Live in the moment. The past didn't matter to her. She did have a point. He was lucky to have escaped as he did. To get to go outside every now and than. But the past wasn't so easy for him to let go. While he was being hunted, he had to be on his guard.
"Nice to meet you, too," Sirius returned, throwing a forced smile on his face. "Katsumi. What kind of trick?" He had to admit, he was curious. Very curious. The curiosity entered his voice easily, like it would have so many years ago.

"Scared? Of what of you?" she grinned "Never." Katsumi couldn't help it, there was something about him that told her she didn't need to fear him despite his warnings and he did remind her of someone, someone she used to know it was like a lingering feeling of nostalgia. Katsumi didn't dwell on it for to long as Padfoot asked about her prank.
"Well," she started, We line the lower trees with mud lines and let it drop down all the while having a hidden hole filled with it." she paused trying to build some suspense "eventually the renari would run through trying to get out of the mud and land in the hole eventually becoming covered." she giggled thinking herself brilliant. "And if they don't we can always help them along with ominous voices and magic" she pulled out her wand again.
"What do you think?" she asked "do you have any interesting ideas?" she wanted to hear what he thought, perhaps he was a trickster at heart too.

Well, that was good. That she didn't find him scary in any way. Or seemed to recognize him. The last thing he needed was someone tattling on where he was.
While Katsumi spoke, Sirius moved his position to a tree, making long marks in the ground with his paw. What she was asking intrigued him. As a younger Renari, he had enjoyed nothing more than a good prank. It had been so long, he wasn't sure if he still had the talent for pulling them off. He could think of nothing to go along with what she was saying. He felt like he should say something. But there was nothing.
"No. Not really.
