R u l e s
By joining this guild, you are agreeing to follow the rules below. I highly recommend you to read, and accept, the rules and that you check back at times since they will be altered if I see fit. But hey, the choice is yours. I don't care if you don't since I won't be the one suffering the consequences for breaking them, but don't say I didn't warn you. If you are caught breaking one of the rules you will be alerted via PM (by myself or the vice captian). If you are, don't come whining to me. You agreed when you joined to follow these rules and it was your choice to break that commitment. So you will be confronted about it and there will be consequences. Don't blame your mistakes on the other members of this guild, you did it so you suffer the consequences. Simple as that.
General
Always follow Gaia's TOS. That's pretty simple to remember. No god-modding at all. You cannot control another's character without their permission. Violence is allowed and encouraged but power-playing and god-modding is not. Auto-hitting and auto-dodging is also not allowed unless the person you are fighting gives you the okay. Your character is not invincible and they will get hurt eventually. It's a fact of life. So you cannot dodge every attack nor can you say every one of your attacks hit your opponent. Give them time to react. You may not kill someone else's character unless they have given you permission. Before a fight, try to decide who will win or pick a random number to see who will win. Romance is allowed and encouraged but, please, keep it PG-13. Once the clothes come off, timeskip. Absolutely no cybering whatsoever! I won't stand for it at all. You may cuss but extreme cussing is not allowed. I totally understand people cuss every now and then but don't do it every other sentence. Please do not use the IC topics for OOC. Each roleplay has a designated OOC topic that is to be used for just that. A little OOC is fine in the roleplay but no full posts of just OOC.
One more thing, no copying anything within the walls of this guild. This has to be one of my biggest pet peeves. Copying is just downright wrong unless you have permission or you give the owner credit. The roleplays and their plots took a lot of time to create and they belong to the person who created them. Everything in this guild belongs to this guild, and this guild only. Even the characters made by our fellow members are theirs and theirs only. So, if you are caught stealing anything from this guild you will be in a lot of trouble unless you have gained permission first. So basically, don't copying and everything will be okay.
Literacy
This is a literate roleplay, okay? That means, I expect good grammar and spelling. I understand a slip up every now and then, (I make them sometimes) but if I can't read your post due to spelling/grammar mistakes then we have a problem. If you have trouble with spelling or grammar here's a little secret... spellcheck is your friend. No text talk during your posts at all and your actions must be typed out, no ** or []. I would prefer if you would write in third person, so no 'I did this blah blah blah I went there'. NO ONE LINERS. I will not stand for this at all. I expect at least two detailed paragraphs (at least seven sentences each) per character per post, though more is encouraged. It really isn't that hard to do. Instead of just typing their actions type their feelings too! Get inside your character's head. I understand quality over quantity. I'd rather have two paragraphs bursting with detail than five paragraphs with little to no detail. Details are the key. I love details so give me lots of details in your posts. I also totally understand writers block, it happens to everybody. However, you can't use this excuse every single post just because you are too lazy to write something.
Posting
I'm all for pretty posts. I actually require that you at least include your character's name and picture. So feel free to make your posts look nice and pretty but don't go overboard. Do not add colors that are too bright to read. If I have to highlight them read, then they are too bright. Also, do not stretch the page with your posting style/picture(s). When your character is speaking, the text should be bolded and have "quotation marks" around it. For thoughts, the text should be italicized.
Characters
Be realistic when it comes to characters. Do not have someone who has eyes that change color or hair that is purple (unless it is dyed). I only allowed real pictures, no anime ones. If you want to use a celebrity then that's okay with me, as long as they are real and appropriate pictures. Some characters have a premade past and personality, and that is to be kept. However, feel free to add things to the character, just don't change anything that is premade about them. Those roles were made how they are for a reason that has to do with the story of the roleplay. So please keep that in mind when applying, and roleplaying, a character with a set backstory and personality. Please do not apply for a character and then never post. You are responsible for your characters and if you feel like you can't handle some simply tell me and we'll work if out. Remember, your character is not invincible and will have flaws. I honestly don't care if you make them have a tragic past or a super happy one nor do I care if they are harsh and violent or happy and flirty. The choice is yours but your character cannot be perfect. Humans have flaws, all of them.
Activity
I do not want this guild to die. So, I expect a post at least once a week, but more is highly encouraged. If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time (over one week) please let me know so I don't think you are simply disappearing. If you want someone to take care of your characters while you are gone then that is perfectly okay. However, make sure you tell them what is okay and not okay to do with said character during your absence. Also, don't just apply for a character and then forget about them. I expect at least one post from you a week but you must post at least once for all your characters every two weeks, unless you are waiting for a reply. That way people aren't left hanging. If you have not posted in over a week at all with no notice, or you have neglected one of your characters then you will receive a PM explaining that if you do not post for said character(s) within the next week they will be erased and the roles reopened. You will get one PM and one whole week to post before the character is erased. Do not get mad at me if you find your character erased because you didn't post for them. If you find your character erased and the slot still open you may resend the reserve and profile for the character as long as you have a good explanation as to why you didn't post. ((Hint: Saying you didn't feel like posting or you were too lazy is not a good excuse)) I am a fairly understanding person. If you give a good reason I will accept it and allow you to have your character back.
Applications
When reserving for a character the roleplay sample is key. That is the first thing my eyes are drawn to before I even look at the rest of the reserve. If I get two people wanting the same role, said role will go to the person with the best roleplay sample. So please keep that in mind when sending a reserve. I also have the right to deny a role to you if I feel that, due to your roleplay sample, you are not able to properly roleplay the character personality wise (only if personality is premade) or your sample was not literate and had multiple mistakes. If I do deny your reserve, you are welcome to try again but please do not argue with me. If you argue with me over my decision then you will not be allowed to try again. If I do accept your reserve then you have three days to send me the profile. If you are unable to get the profile to me in the three day timeslot, then simply let me know and I will be happy to hold the role for you longer. But you must let me know ahead of time so I don't assume that you just didn't feel like sending the profile. After three days, if I haven't received your profile, the role will be reopened and you will have to resend the reserve to get the character again. Unless someone already took the character. For profiles and reserves, I ask that you do not change the coding at all. The coding takes a long time to put together and it is put like that for a reason. The coding is also very delicate and you changing something could mess the entire thing up. So don't alter the coding for profiles or reserves.
Respect
Respect everyone in this guild. I can't stress this enough. I don't care if they are a vice captain or a new member, respect them. This is a place for roleplaying, not arguing. If you have a problem with another member then just drop me a PM and I'll handle it. But try to avoid arguing in the roleplay. Make sure you respect the crew, the vice captain, and myself. The crew has been made crew for a reason and they are to be respected. If they tell you to stop doing something that they know is not allowed then stop. However, to crew, if any problems arise when I am not around make sure you drop me a PM to just give me a heads up so I may handle it. Make sure to treat everyone with respect though. Just because they aren't a vice captain or part of the crew doesn't mean that they don't deserve the same respect. Don't get mad at someone because you didn't like how they made their character react to something. It's their character and they can choose how they react to something. Also, please be patient with the other members. We all have lives outside of Gaia so don't get mad if they don't reply to you within the first few days. Also, don't just start up a conversation with someone in the roleplay and then run off before they have a chance to reply. Patience is key. So just respect everyone in this guild and I think we'll all be fine. I honestly don't see what is so hard about that.
