This is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down. So I'd like to take a moment, just sit right there, and I'll tell you all about how this weekend went from amazing to s**t.

Remember how I made a thread earlier this month about how a deadmau5 concert ticket? Yeah, well not a lot of people did, so here's what the thread said; I bought a deadmau5 ticket (insert clip from My Little Pony here). Not the most exciting thread, I know, but it gets the point across.

Long story short, I got cockblocked several times over this supposedly AMAZING weekend, so I'll have a start a counter. Here goes...

Anyways, not only did I have that concert thing going for me, but I also got a wristband from the Hollywood Hot Topic for an event they were holding on Saturday afternoon. If you bought an (over-priced) t-shirt and DVD from their store, you were given a wristband that guaranteed you a spot in line for their in-store autograph signing with the mau5 himself. On Friday morning, about 11am, Hot Topic sent out an email to everyone on their mailing list saying the event was cancelled due to "circumstances beyond their control". Counter: 1

Obviously this makes me upset, but whatever, I still have the concert to go to, and it's general admission so if I get there early I can secure my spot right in front of the stage and see him really close to make up for that. So I get there early, wait patiently through all the opening acts (almost 4 hours), never pushing or shoving anyone out of my way to get to the front, and only leaving once to use the bathroom and come right back, and one of the girls I was standing next to was nice enough to hold my spot for me. Finally deadmau5 comes on, and I'm right at the front of the crowd, and I'm getting ready for the best show ever! But halfway through his set, as I'm dancing to Sofi Needs a Ladder, this douche bag and his girlfriend push and shove their way to the front of the crowd, right next to me, and basically force me out of my spot. What the ********? I was here first! These guys were obviously drunk, and being very obnoxious, by pushing all these people out of the way, AND THEN having the gall to ask these same people to take pictures of them with their phone in front of the stage and making out right in front of me, standing in MY SPOT! Counter: 2 Eventually I pushed my way back to my spot, but they stayed there right next to me the rest of the show, and continued their obnoxious--but not intrusive enough to get kicked out by security--behavior. What dicks.

So on Saturday, I don't have any work, and I don't have any plans due to the autograph event cancellation, so I ask my friend K if she and I could hang out someplace in the OC, because she's in town this weekend, and offered to pay for lunch or whatever. So she replies back saying, that she'd love to if it were just her or her and her parents, but she also had her nephews in tow on this trip, so it would be too much of a hassle to bring her big family along to meet this one person. Counter: 3 This also sucks because I kinda have feelings for her...

So instead I go back to the Hot Topic, return the shirt I bought with the premise of meeting deadmau5, get my money back, then head across the street to Disney's soda fountain and studio store to drown my sorrow participate in some retail therapy and eat some over-priced ice cream. And at night I go to this anime stand-up comedy show in the heart of Little Tokyo in downtown L.A., thinking it will help cheer me up. And it did! It was a good show. So after the show I go for the little stroll around the neighborhood/shopping district where there are still some people milling about, and I come across this new Johnny Rockets cafe that opened not that long ago, and I see two guys sitting at the counter from the comedy show. They're looking at the menu, getting ready to order, and not to mention, one of the guys is pretty cute too, so I decide I'll take my chances and sit down on a stool next to them, and then I notice something. I can't sit down next to them, because they are sitting at the short end of the bar counter, where it's only two seats, the cash register, and then the bar turns in another direction! There were all these empty barstools on the other side of the register, but they had to pick the side with only two seats... How could I hang out with them, make it look casual and not look like a damn fool? Lean against the wall? Stand awkwardly next to the cash register? Counter: 4 Who the hell gets cockblocked by Johnny ********' Rockets of all places?

So yeah, if you made it this far, thanks for reading through that wall of text, I needed to vent. -_- If you didn't and just went "lol tl;dr" I hope you too get cockblocked in the near future. mad

Sorry it was a bad experience! At least you got to go up close to the stage and all that.
Sometimes it just seems like life wants to dickslap you over and over, but if you keep your eyes open, I find that you can still find blessings to count. Good luck with next weekend! : D

Thanks Dakki. I hope I didn't come off as "spoiled unappreciative brat" in this rant, but I waited so long through all those opener acts to secure my spot, only to have these two idiots push their way through the crowd and take it away from me. I can only hope the girl said "No, sorry, I'm not really in the mood tonight" when the guy later on asked her if he could take her back to his place for post-concert sex. rolleyes

No problemo. Eh, it's always disappointing when you have a bad experience when you want to have a great one. I try not to highlight the bad.
I went to a concert a while back with some friends, and we had this couple force through the crowd and elbow my best friend right in the back. Instead of fighting the crowd, (we're 3 women that are 5'0") we went back up to higher ground. We were further, but saw better and had a better time without fighting the crowd.

s**t happens, and when it does, it sucks. But focus on the fact that you got to see him play that close. Otherwise it'll fade from your memory and only that of the couple will remain, spoiling an awesome point in your life.

Rants, however, are the first step to that kind of thing. You vent and it's out, but just don't dwell and it'll pass.

At least you didn't start something with the guy in the concert and manage to see all of it,I would be pissed if someone would shove me out of the way too but what can you do?some people are like that is best just to give a bad glare and move on.

Also hearing about that place in L,A makes me want to go there more now XD /is planning on going to L.A around March.

Obnoxious couples are obnoxious stressed

Take me with you next time! I have some tricks up my sleeve...

...though I wouldn't be much help with cockblocking xD You're on your own with that one...

On a side note, it sounds like there's a lot to do in your area :3
