I use grey Knights, so I'm stuck with a force weapon on the Purgation Squad's Justicar, but they also have the storm bolter and psybolt ammo so it's different. Mine are mid range and actually need the close combat support. Anyway, it wont make a difference. It will still count as having two close combat weapons so you'll get +1 attack. Same as if he had a bolt pistol and power sword. You could be hardcore and take two power fists(replace bolt gun and bolt pistol with two). You get that +1 attack and become S8. Too bad your squad would most likely be slaughtered before he got to attack, but still that would be cool in my book.

the squad could be slaughtered but he would be your diamond in the rough for if he was able to attack it would be a real blow for the enemy squad

so lets say i add 5 space marines to them to have a squad of 10 if i do that and keep the heavy weapons stationary for a time and slowly move them up it could be a unique stragety one that would probably require alot of luck lol but its possible i must ponder it

Moving them takes away their ability to use heavy weapons. Honestly, you should just keep them in cover and far enough back in order to keep them from being assaulted. Limit them to the heavy weapons and sergeant to save on points.

My thoughts and general strategy (aside from kill point games) is to use the heavy weapons in my tactical squad because they are cheaper points wise. Then i combat squad usually those tactical squads so i can go for more objectives and leave the heavy weapons half in cover. Since they don't move they can fire all weapons. Big thing is save points and i end up having open slot for heavy support choice. If your feeling really froggy and have a techmarine or thunderfire cannon, reenforce a building with bolster defenses (+1 to cover) and deploy your heavy weapons there. Lasconnons are good because 48" range strength 9 AP2.

I had it recently pointed out to me that you could take a full ten man devastator squad and then do combat squads of five marines apiece. That way your sergeant and bolter equiped marines could move and fire and the heavy weapons could stay put and fire.
