Karakura Town, for the most part, is still in pretty bad shape after the great war. However, it's people are in the process of rebuilding. So when walking around the town, be sure to act accordingly as if walking around a post-apocalyptic setting. Due to the state of Karakura Town and Soul Society, a few of the new recruited Captains have been stationed in here.

Despite the setting of a town that had been utterly destroyed, the day was absolutely gorgeous and Shunsui wanted to take advantage of that fact. As a result, he was lounged beneath a tree that had barely any leaves left on it. Naturally, he'd found the perfect spot in its shadow to kick back and uncork his gourde full of sake, his trademark had keeping what little bit of sun the tree let through out of his eyes as he held watch over the town. No, it was not his sole job to keep guard here, but there were times when he enjoyed getting out of Soul Society, and now that Yamamoto was no longer the Commander-General he was allowed to not only make frequent trips to the realm of the living, but he was allowed to surrender his position as Captain. "Too much work" he told Nanao as he resigned. She of all people understood just how much he hated doing paperwork, and with this resignation he was free to pretty much do what he wanted within reason. He was still a senior officer and people still respected him as being one of the strongest shinigami still around, not that he cared what they thought of him. People took life too seriously for his tastes. The fight with Aizen was seemingly over for now and even if they were concerned about new threats Shunsui was enjoying this time of peace while he still could.
Or that's what he thought. Just as he was getting a nice buzz he sensed something. It was slight, but certainly there. A spirit, not human and not shinigami, appeared not too far off. Spirits like that don't just suddenly appear for no reason. His experience told him that it was a hollow, and a high class one at that to simply appear without any sort of warning. He took a deep breath and sat up from his reclined position glanced about, then dropped back onto his posterior. "If he's not here to cause trouble then there's no need for me to step in..." Shunsui said to justify his laziness. The Urahara Shoten had a few people there to respond to anything that came their way anyway, so really he'd be back-up if needed as opposed to the preemptive force. For now he was just going to enjoy his sake and the mid-day sun.
