I've been checking my friends island (well over 100) and I have yet to encounter one chocolate statue. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, it seems that there is an issue with the resources one's supposed to find on other islands, apparently more if you've got more neighbours. The Porcelain Cat Any item to be found on a neighbor's island is currently extremely rare. We don't know why. The devs are supposedly working on it. They shouldn't be as rare as they are. And it seems that you can find 2 or 3 a day. The Porcelain Cat I didn't mention this before, but it seems that the more friends you have the less likely you are to find them. Which is really really lame. In one of the different threads here.

If you just started building it today, you'll have to wait until the reset before you can find any. Keep a look out on the beaches. i found 2 or 3 a day. It took a while, but I did finish my project, so I'm sure you'll be able to finish yours.

Had issues with my Japanese Noh Theatre for quite a while back when it was still in construction stage.

I'm starting to think that this is not a bug but done deliberately to persuade us to buy the resources with Piastres.

If your not patient enough to your more likely to use or get the piasteres with irl money just to get that over with. I was tempted to a couple times trying to finish the bloody annoying obstacle course.

i click-spammed the ones that walk around to get enough in one day each, but it hasn't worked yet for me with the ones that are still. Used to have to wait for the chest drops, now it's the other way around, LOL.

I've found a way to get more in one day: If you find one on an island, click the name in the top left or in the list at the bottom repeatedly.
You'll find around seven that way, per day, and will finish the project in two or three days. x3
