For thousands of years man and demons have lived in worlds separate from one another. Demons have felt constant pressure from the increasing number of humans invading their territories. Many demons took it upon themselves to try and destroy the human realms and enslave the humans. This created an era of strife and suffering amongst the humans. During this time the humans moved to free themselves and seal away the demons who had taken over their land. This lead up to the great human and demon war.

This war raged for many years with no clear victor in sight. At first it was predetermined that the humans would be easily wiped to the side by the superior demon powers and forces, but a group of demons broke off from the demonic side and sided with the humans to aide and help them fight against the overwhelming odds. Eventually the humans began to harness a power to seal the powers and spirits of the demons they were fighting against. This power was founded by a priest who had been meditating on a mountain for several years. This power was discovered to be within all humans and it became the turning point in the war, which lead to a human victory.

The demons who sided with the humans felt fear of this power, and confided with the priest to try and gain his trust so that the rest of the humans would follow. He agreed with the demons, but many of the humans didn’t and a small group began to lead a hunt for the remaining demons, whether they helped them in the war or not. The priest felt sympathy for all the demons and regretted his actions and created a sanctuary, where no human was able to enter, for the demons. For many millennia he and his descendants guarded the border of this land.

It is now the early 21st century and the events of the past slip from general consciousness and into nothing more than fantasy and myth. The land of the priest was soon bulldozed, but his descendants still live on the land and now run a school to teach demons to live with humans. This school houses both humans and demons. On this day of the new school year, both new demons and new humans enter the school grounds. Life goes on normally in this school and the human students live and mingle with demons without even knowing it.
