o great ↘↘
Athena

hesiod has called me this ↘↘
Well, I don't have so many. A few here and there. They are: Pallas, Minerva, Grey-eyed, Atrytone, Parthénos, Promachos, Ergane, Polias and Hippeia. If you're wondering what they all mean, look them up sometime. I was asked my titles, not to be your personal encyclopedia.

it should be obvious ↘↘
Why, female, of course.

it does help with the mortals ↘↘
I suppose it wouldn't do any harm to describe my appearance to the humans. Wouldn't want the poor things to explode at first sight. I am averaged height for a woman (at least by modern standards) standing at 5'6". I have dirty blonde hair that falls around my face and down to my shoulders in loose curls. I have a somewhat square jaw and high cheekbones running under dark, very dark eyes. My body is slight and athletic and I like to wear jeans and soft blouses. It's not very often that you'll find me wearing jewelry or other dressy clothes, so don't expect it of me.

bow down↘↘
I am mainly portrayed as the goddess of wisdom, strategic war, and handicrafts. But some other things I govern are: courage, inspiration, civilization, strength, female arts, justice and skill. If you want to win a war, and you want to do it smart, just come to me. That's one reason why I prefer the Greeks over their Roman counterparts. And that't why you'll find that the Greeks usually won.

can't live without them ↘↘
Unfortunately, I am the daughter of that whore of a man, Zeus. And yes, I can say that, because it's true. You can never turn away from the truth. I mean, I can hardly count how many half siblings I have, and he just keeps making more and more and more! Frankly, it's getting rather ridiculous. Anyways, on a lighter note, my mother is Metis, the Titan of crafty thought and wisdom. Ah, how I loved her, even though I never actually got to meet her. Because my father ate her. Ate her! Swallowed her whole like his father did him.

playing nice ↘↘
I don't have any actual sibling, with the same mother as me. Perhaps my father was too hungry to conceive more children with Metis. Perhaps he was paranoid. Well, enough about him, I have several half-siblings, like Ares, for one... But he's a story for another time. The rest of my half-sibling are, Hephaestus, those delightful twins, Artemis and Apollo, Dionysus, Hermes, and Aphrodite. I also have several demi-god half-siblings, like Hercules, Helena, Thalia Grace, and Perseus. No, the original Perseus, not that son of Poseidon who seemed to have fallen in love with my daughter. I have many more half-siblings, but I can not think of them all off the top of my head.

having my eyes ↘↘
I have no divine children of my own, but I do have a few demi-god children. One of my most known is Annabeth Chase. What a wonderful girl. Some of my other mortal children are Malcolm, Daedalus, and a name that everyone knows, George Washington. Oh, there's Joan De Arc as well. I also have a sort of adopted child, Erichthonius, who became the king of Athens.

heart heart ↘↘
No, I am not married, nor do I intend to be. I have more important things to do than worry about love and romance amongst my fellow deities. I have to admit that I am quite fond of Hermes. The man is much more clever than he lets on, and I admire that. Also, he's usually willing to help me guide the Hero's throughout history. Other than him, I don't really have feelings for anyone, and I can tolerate most of the other Olympians.

breaking arms↘↘
First and foremost, there is my half-brother, Ares. I would give a million drachmas to see him fall from Mount Olympus and crash into the sea. And I'd give another million to see his head split open upon a stone. He's so savage and disgusting. As wise and smart as I am, I really don't understand how such a barbaric man can be related to me. Then I figure he must take after his mother, while I take after my much more wonderful one.

Lastly, and definitely least, there's Poseidon. What a vile man he is, committing adulteries in my temple. Laying with one of my priestesses. I wish that my father would do something about him, but he's too afraid to ruffle the man's feathers. Although, I don't know why. It's not as if my father actually cares about the mortals. And why does the almighty sea god have to throw tantrums every time he doesn't get his way? He acts more like a child than his children. Speaking of his children, that Perseus boy had better watch himself around my precious Annabeth, or he may get seriously injured.

want them ↘↘
I have many things that I like, most of all being books. I love to read and learn. I like when mortal make wise decisions in times of war and peace. I enjoy sitting at my loom and weaving, or at the wheel making pottery. I'm very skilled at that. I love all of my children, and I help them as much as I can. And, although I'm not as bloodthirsty as my brother, I do, in fact, enjoy war. Smart war, but war nonetheless. There's also owls. Such intelligent, bright eyed birds. Oh, and lastly, I enjoy helping the mortal Hero's in their quests.

go die ↘↘
First and foremost, I absolutely despise stupidity and ignorance. If you don't have the decency to learn something, then what's the point in living? If that sounds a bit harsh, I'm sorry, but that's how I feel. I hate it when people don't think before they act, and just jump in feet first. I don't like the destruction and desecration of books. Like during WWII, when those German idiots created massive bonfires out of nothing but precious novels and volumes! During that time my heart ached so bad I thought it would explode. I don't like watching intelligent, wise men spiral down into insanity or immoral states of rage. It saddens me to see a bright man or woman fall from grace. I also dislike recession in human progress. When humanity on Earth starts to seem more barbaric than the gorillas in South America, I tend to get a little worried.

having perks ↘↘
Personality? My personality? As if you could not tell by reading all of this? *sigh* Alright, if I must. Some people would call me stuck up, but really, I'm just confident in my abilities. Almost arrogant, I admit. I have a decent enough sense of humor, although I don't joke and play very often. I'm kind when I need to be, but I tend to be a tad harsh in my punishments. I tend to be very outspoken, so if there is something I don't like, you can bet that you'll hear me say so. I can be very opinionated, and so I can sometimes be a little biased on certain points. Because I am so intelligent, I sometimes annoy my brothers and sisters by correcting them in their grammar or speech patterns. I'm pretty good at seeing through people, so I know when you're lying or hurt or angry. Although my punishments are harsh, I have a relatively mild temper, and think through everything before I act. Except for that incident with Paris. That time I lost it, honestly.

going back ↘↘
I was born out of my father, even though my mother was the one who was pregnant with me, I came from my father's head after it was split open with a double bladed ax. And there I was, fully armored and screaming a war cry that would cause even the most powerful titans to quiver and shake in their boots. I never met my mother because she chose to combine with me in order to keep me alive and make me the patron Goddess of Wisdom.

I had a friend once, a nymph name Pallas. We were great friends, and I loved her more than I love my actual half-siblings. She was a daughter of Triton, my cousin. Almost every day we would hunt and play, for I was no more than a child then, and we would often practice our battle with one another. One day, we had some sort of falling out; I don't even remember what about, but it ended violently. I hand't meant to strike her down like that, but when you're the goddess of war, it gets into your blood that an enemy is an enemy, and if they attack you, they must be slain. It had been an accident, and even to this day I still feel horrible for it. And so, I took her name in memorial, and kept it as my own. This is how I got the title Pallas Athene.

Do you remember when I told you of that vile man who attempted to molest me? His name was Hephaestus. Needless to say, he failed in his attempt on me, but accidentally impregnated Gaia, the Mother Earth, creating a child named Erichthonius. I felt terribly sorry for the poor dear, so I adopted him. Now, at this moment in time, I don't remember where it was I was off to, but I couldn't take the child with me. So, I laid him in a box, disguised him as a serpent, then entrusted his care to three of my priestesses. Which, now that I dwell on it, was a bad idea. The curiosity of humanity will forever be the death of them. Two of the three opened the box and gazed inside, after I had specifically told them not to, and they went insane. They threw themselves from the Acropolis, ending their lives forever. *tsk* Should have listened as they were told.

Medusa... That poor, poor girl. I feel no remorse for the suffering I caused her. Some people claimed that my uncle raped her, but I know it was her choice to lay with him. An African goddess is what they once called her, but now she's a Gorgon. When I caught her in my temple with Poseidon, I turned her into that hideous beast. Her beautiful locks of raven black hair were transformed to a tangled mass of hissing snakes. I changed her lower body, the part that all men desire, into that of a serpent. And lastly, to insure that she never, ever repeated her mistake, anyone who gazes into her cold, heartless eyes will turn to stone.

Athens, my wonderful Athens. This city was unnamed for the longest time, and I had decided that I wanted it. But, as always, my uncle had to come and ruin all the fun. We came to an agreement, me and him, that each would give the people here a gift, and they would chose their name form the deity who gave them the greatest gift. My uncle struck the ground with his great trident, bringing forth water from a spring that had formed. This gave the people a means to trade and gather water. But, unfortunately, the water was salty and not good for drinking, so the people turned the God of Seas down, and awaited my gift. I offered them the first domesticated olive tree, bringing to them wood, oil and food. The king, Cecrops, accepted my gift, and so named the city after me.

Throughout history, you will often hear of me aiding demi-gods and other hero's in their quests to save the ones they love or return home. And often times, you will find that Hermes aids me as well. One of my most memorable stories of guidance is with that clever, handsome man Odysseus. All he wanted to do was get home after the war, but my idiot uncle threw him off course. All because Odysseus blinded that moronic Cyclops Polyphemus. The man had to survive and if Poseidon's one-eyed children weren't such buffoons, then the mortals would not have had to take such drastic measures. Anyways, back to my part in this story. The last thing to happen, that woman, Calypso, trapped my Odysseus on an island for seven years. Seven! I had to beg my father to send aid to him, and he sent Hermes, who is Odysseus's great grandfather. After he sailed away from this island, I entered a young maiden's dreams, a woman named Nausicaa, and told her to go to the shore the next day with her maids. It was there that Odysseus washed ashore, and they took him under their wing.

Backtracking, it all started ten years after Odyseus ran off to fight in that war over that foolish girl Helen. On his journey home, that fool Poseidon blew him miles upon miles off track. I had a discussion with my father about Odysseus' fate, when my uncle was absent from the Mount, of course. While disguised as Taphian Chieftain, I went to Odysseus' son, Telemachus, and urged him to search his father's whereabouts. That night I disguised myself as the boy and set off, establishing him a crew and a ship. The next day, I (still disguised as Mentos), accompanied the boy as he departed for the Greek mainland and the household of Nestor, most venerable of the Greek warriors at Troy, now at home in Pylos.

After a very long and not at all exaggerated story, my Odysseus is finally returned home. Yes, I skipped over the entire story, because it is long and arduous to tell. And it is only one of my many acts.

Spiders... Vile creatures that they are. But do you know how they came to be? There was a woman named Archne, and she could weave beautiful and wondrous tapestries. Even I enjoyed to study them. And yet, she grew arrogant, cocky, and she threw a challenge my way, up into the heavens. That incident angered be beyond belief. Her, a mere mortal, claiming that she can weave better than I, the very patron of weaving? Well this, this I could not have. Now, being the kind and merciful woman that I am, I gave her a chance to redeem herself. I went to her in the guise of an old crone, warning her to take back her words, to refrain from offending the Gods. But she didn't listen. She simply scoffed and wished for a contest. And so, I agreed. I wove a tapestry of my victory over Poseidon, in which the city of Athens became named after me. And what image did Arachne weave? Why, twenty one episodes of the Immortal's infidelity. Starting with my father and ending with my cousin, Aphrodite. Although, I admit that the tapestry itself was flawless, the depictions enraged me beyond words. How could on be so bold as to point out the flaws of the Gods ? I know we are not perfect, but mortals are not to speak of such things. I admit that I lost my temper, and destroyed her loom and tapestry that she'd worked so hard on. She was so upset that she hung herself, and by this point I felt bad and took pity on her, turning her into a spider.

Oh my, that was quite a bit, wasn't it? And that's hardly even half of it. Well, I'm going to stop for today; I don't want to write a novel here. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask..... On second thought, don't. You'll make me feel like a school teacher. Just look me up on that Google device if you want to know more.
