Okay, I don't remember what I've seen this on, but I've seen it in some movies and some TV shows.
As you can see, I have a nostril hoop, which I adore for some reason.

ON TV OR MOVIES WHEN THE "GOTH" CHICK HAS A NOSE PIERCING, IT HAS TO BE A HOOP FOR SOME REASON
AND THE ACTOR'S FAKE HOOP IS HUGE
ITS ******** a blind person (exaggeration) would tell it's fake mad mad mad mad mad mad

If they made the hoop smaller
OR MADE IT LOOK EVEN CLOSE TO LOOKING REAL
I wouldn't have huffed my s**t up about this.

But uuhhhhjhjt!

Are there any fake piercings in the media that piss you off?

Fake piercings in general piss me off, unless you're wearing it for testing purposes. Meaning, wear a fake ring on your lip or nose for a day, walk around and see how you like the way it looks before you get the real one, but ADMIT when it's fake if people ask. Trying to pass off an obviously fake ring or piercing as real just annoys me.

I admit, I do that too sometimes. I put a hoop on my septum to see how it'd look, and when I need to take out my nose hoop I put it on my lip and I look at it and go "hhhhmmmm I'd like that piercing."

BUt jhdjgkfodijfklcgjndjv why is it that when movies/TV has the "best" makeup/prop artists that normal people like you and I can obviously tell that it's fake
and it looks tacky.
If they wanted a real looking "goth" chick, I'd say get a real one.

For real, but what "real" goth is now is Hot Topic whorring baby bats and Manson-ites. Most people don't know what real goth is anymore, and they think that the over sized nose ring helps them portray an "alternative" character better. It's almost offensive to me, really, as an alternative modified and fair-weather-goth.

I know! I haven't been a fan of HT for very long, but when they had Twilight stuff, and when they pretty much s**t all over Hello Kitty's face I was livid. Hello kitty doesn't ******** wear glasses!
I admit, I have no idea what a real goth looks like, that style was around when I was in elementary and I thought they looked scary.

This is Adora Batbrat, a Swedish model. She's a little on the extreme side, but since there are SO many forms of goth, she's a good example of the more common styles. Go check out the Official Goth Tread in the Fashion forum for more of the most common styles of real goth. It sometimes falls off the first page, so you may need to go back a page or two.

Piercings don't make you goth, wearing black doesn't make you goth, wearing black makeup or dying your hair black doesn't make you goth. I wish people would understand that.

Goth is, honestly, more a state of mind first, before a style of dress. The dress just tends to reflect the inner thought process. Most goths are actually really happy, well balanced, intelligent and hard working human beings, they just like to look different than other people. Most don't profess to being goth, either, but use it more as a "there's no other word for it, really, so this is just easier" kinda thing. Anyone who says "I'm goth and proud of it!" is a poser.

If it's a "way of life", emo kids, why do you grow out of it by the time you're 20? Oh, right, because once you're out of high school and none of that s**t matters anymore, you grow the ******** up. Imagine that. stare

It angers me when I see adults who do those junior high/highschool bullshit styles.
