Most of the mechanized weapons, such as tanks, mobile artillery, and troop transports, are firmly in the hands of the Empire. Sometimes the Rebels get a hold of them, and the Underworld has no use for them, so they either sell them to the Rebels or back to the Empire. These are just a few variants of mechanized weapons.
Tanks: The design is similar to that of an M1 Abrams tank, with tanks usually mounting a pair of 180mm cannon, with other, more advanced variants mounting heavy laser, plasma,anti-air, or railgun turrets. All tanks have one driver-fired heavy weapon of some sort, in a forward fixed firing position, as well as a crew-manned weapon on the turret, usually projectile or laser. All tanks have reactive armor, with the most prized tanks using the same lightweight armor as Power Armor. Such tanks are rare, and only given to the most experienced tank veterans. All tanks usually have a top speed of around 45 miles per hour, with some modified models hitting 50.
Artillery: This can be towed or self-propelled, and usually has a 305mm long range cannon, capable of direct fire from over thirty miles away. Other variants include anti-air batteries, plasma, and railgun cannons. They have no defenses except for guards brought with them. Top speed is usually around 15 miles per hour for self propelled models.
Troop Transports: Based on a similar concept to the LAV produced by the United States, these mount a twin turreted 40mm rapid-fire cannon for defending disembarking troops. They are heavily armored, and can carry up to eighteen troops, plus four crew, and they have a high top speed of around 65 miles per hour.
Mechanized Infantry Combat Suit (MICS): These are a one man, bipedal combat suit. Heavier then power armor by far, and standing around eighteen feet high, they are a virtual one-man army when deployed. One arm is mounted with a heavy projectile chaingun, gauss minigun, or gattling laser, the other is mounted with a anti-tank missile launcher. The shoulders either have a pair of automated 20mm cannons for anti aircraft fire, 40 shot mini missile batteries for use against hardened targets like bunkers or tanks, or a pair of mortar tubes for use against infantry. These units are costly, and expensive to maintain or repair, but the shock value is tremendous when these behemoths stride onto the battlefield. The Rebels have captured few of these, and do not use them carelessly. The Imperial 301st Mechanized Infantry Unit is the elite of the ground troops, and they are feared across the galaxy, bringing victory from defeat time and time again.
