-Residence-

A one story house settled near the bar and shore, that was bought to accommodate the Ladd/Bernadetto bunch. The home itself isn't very big, but it just right for the three that will be living there. A room and bathroom for the couple and the daughter, with a spare one for storage, mainly Pip's guns that Alice refused to have anywhere visible or attainable. There's also an attic and a garage that's basically used for storage. The design for the home is slightly mixed, but quite tasteful, or so Alice would declare. It has:
- 3 bedrooms {Alice & Pip} {Miah} {Spare} - 2 bathrooms {Alice & Pip} {Miah} - 1 living room {X} - 1 kitchen {X} - 1 dining room {X} - 1 attic {X} - 1 garage {X}
-Family Members-
A simple home for a business owner, her boyfriend and her daughter.
- Alice Ladd, 32 - Pip Bernadetto, 29 - Miah Bernadetto, 1

Daffodil was quite excited about this next one. Miah had just been born this year, and the fairy was so pleased to have a new child to watch over that she may have gone a little overboard with the gifts. It wasn't her fault that she had been excited! The box she set down in the nursery was a little bit smaller than the others she had been handing out that night, but it was packed to the top with a variety of things for a baby to play with -- rattles, things that lit up and spoke, and a collection of soft, felt giraffes. And on top of the box was a large, elaborate ribbon, almost as big as the box itself. Her excitement had manifested itself more in the wrapping than the contents, making it definitely hard to miss. She didn't have to worry about adults stepping on this one! She took a moment to admire her handiwork before going over to look at the sleeping Miah over the bars of the crib. Then, feeling quite content, she disappeared out the nursery window, on her way to the next house~

Oh, what a cute little house this was! Ilex didn't have a problem with the last home Pip lived in, but he could say for certain that the cute little green home certainly was an improvement! It just suited the silly-speaking man far more than that last place! Ilex took a few moments to admire the building, not finding anything wrong in taking his time here. He had already learned from his last few visits that his sisters were picking up speed while he was still running at slow~ Not that it mattered. The night wouldn't suddenly end any faster if he took his time! So, after a good set of minutes, he entered the home and dashed his way through it in search of the sleeping one-eyed, blond man. Upon finding him, he hovered up to the raised part of the floor, where he set down his sack to pull out a basket of candy! He set the hand-woven-by-magic white basket down and poofed inside a large variety of candies, most of which were various alcohol-flavored cordials with one, large yellow stick of rock candy atop. Satisfied, he dropped an orange envelope at the very top of the stack and then dashed off into the night.
" PIIIP~!! HI HI!!! I love saying hi to you, you know?! It's just so fun! I mean, you have such a fun life and telling people that they have a fun life is always a fun thing! Look at you, Pip! You came in all silly and stuff and now what are you? SILLY AND STUFF. You haven't changed and I'm proud of you for it! You have a pretty daughter and a pretty wife and the baby didn't even have ONE EYE like EVERYONE thought it would! IT WAS HEALTHY AND NORMAL AND OH MY GODDESS I'M GOING TO CRY. ;_; I just love seeing new, happy families! It's like nothing bad could happen! IT MAKES ME HAPPY, PIP. But, you know what would make me even HAPPIER? IF YOU MARRIED ALICE AND THEN CAME VISIT ME DURING YOUR HONEYMOON, that's what! I know she doesn't seem keen on the idea, but keep proposing! Every day! She HAS to say yes someday, doesn't she?! SHE DOES! SO KEEP GOING, PIP! I'M CHEERING YOU ON~!! Oh, and you should visit me even if you aren't married yet. I love having visitors and no one ever comes to say hi! People come close, but.. I'm so lonely!!! ..Anyway, BYE BYE! Good luck and keep trying, Pip!"

-Alice Ladd & Miah Bernadetto-
-NEW DAY-
Alice had never been one for kids, but even she had fallen in love with this nursery. The woman smiled as she glanced over to her daughter playing with the blanket, or rather just tugging it and hugging it from the edge of her little mattress. Now the girl was leaning forward to see the material beneath the blanket... but she forgot she had hands and went face first against the mattress. Miah blinked, confused for a moment at what happened before slapping the mattress in a mini tantrum... at least until she rolled over and focused on her mobile, hypnotizing her immediately. Alice merely chuckled at this and left the girl to do her thing. Right now, she walked along the home, still taking in the fact that she bought a house. Well they bought a house... but since she paid Pip's salary it was much easier to say she paid for it. It was homey... and it was nice... but it wasn't the place for her to be all day. That was something she needed to talk to Pip about. It wouldn't be too long until Alice started manning the House again. Well those were her plans, which she was thinking about now as she poured herself a glass of water and sat down in their little dining room. It was really just a table but... Even in a small home, she lost track of Pip... Where could he have run off to?

What the hell?! Why did his things have to go into the garage?! Wasnt this his house too? He couldnt put them in the attic because that would be Miah's playroom. And he couldnt put them in the spare room, because Alice didnt want guns in the house that could blow their little girls brains out. Like that would happen! Pip always kept his gear locked up.. well more locked up now than ever. Alice had not only confined alot of his stuff to the garage, since they didnt have a car this worked out. But she also had him locking and double locking things up and keeping keys and spare keys high out of reach and hidden from anyone but himself and Alice.
"Mon Dieu..." Pip sighed as he stepped out of the garage and onto their front lawn. He closed the garage door, having just tinkered with his Mercenary gear for nostaliga reasons. Everything was all safe and locked up. As the garage door closed Pip exhaled a long puff of smoke. Yeah he was back to smoking. But never in the house or around his baby girl. Only outside or in the garage. Shoving his hands in his pockets Pip frowned in thought. He had been thinking alot lately on how Alice continued to not want to talk about the whole marriage thing, or love thing for that matter. It was bugging him... He knew she loved him... right? Even his belief on that was faltering. Pip loved Alice, but for awhile now that emotion wasnt being returned. And it was making the Frenchman think.. a bit too much.
Pip sighed and shook his head, not wanting to dwell on it. They had just bought a house, and they had a baby girl together. What more could he want? A son would be nice. Yeah because that was going to happen with the way Alice was. Pip put out the cigarette and headed back into the house. It was too cold outside, even with the many layers he had thrown onto himself. Once inside Pip removed his heavy jacket and the like. Still wearing a turtle neck and pants, Pip headed into the kitchen to grab some juice. He spotted Alice at the dinning room table and smiled to her. "Bonjour Cherie. 'ow are you t'is morning? And 'ow is little Miah?" Pip asked as he came over to Alice just to sneak in a kiss to her neck teasingly.

-Alice Ladd & Miah Bernadetto-
A lot of thinking was going around... like why she was drinking water and not wine? Oh right... She wasn't going to get drunk until the girl could walk... Or something like that. The rules in her mind still weren't clear. They probably wouldn't be until Miah was older... Was it bad to want to go back to your old life so quickly? Did it mean something? Well Alice wasn't really caring about that but-Ah? Pip broke her from those thoughts. She returned the smile, shifting slightly at the little kiss. Not because she didn't want it or didn't want Pip close to her. No... She was just quite reluctant to admit that was a little ticklish, at least when he tried to sneak in like that. It made her squirm a bit. "Hey!" she teased lightly as he left her neck. Well she wasn't going to deny she liked it. "I'm fine. She's exploring her crib." Cribs were a Goddess-send really. "What have you been up to?" asked the woman before taking a sip of her water. It was... rather plain... she didn't like it...
Alice had noticed a few differences in Pip. Well not really differences, but something felt off. She couldn't quite pin it, but the atmosphere didn't feel the same as it did before... Surely a baby was going to change things, but it wasn't the change she expected. It was something else... something she hadn't talked to anybody about, mostly because she didn't have anyone to tell, and... well it was probably something she was imagining. He was still the same goof as usual, though he had been cranky when she told him to keep those guns away. Alice had argued it was for safety, but in reality they just brought back bad memories. The last thing she needed was having a gun nearby haunting her. The Frenchman complied, as he always did with her, but again... something was nagging at her... she just couldn't pin what it was.

What had he been up to, cleaning his guns mostly. Re-evaluating if Alice really loved him or not. Re-evaluating alot of things really. Well.. all but one thing... Miah. Pip would never question being a father. He wanted to be one, and happy that he was now. Pip just shrugged a light smile on his lips at the thought of his daughter and the simple pleasure of being a baby. How awesome would it be if exploring your crib was the highlight of your day? Ah.. simple life~ "Not'ing really. Been out in t'e garage tinkering, and t'inking. T'at's all. What about you Alice? What a've you been doing all day?" Pip said as he finished up his juice and set his empty glass on the table for a moment. He slipped behind Alice and placed his hands on her shoulders giving her a nice light massage. Hey he still loved her, even if she didnt love him back, and he wouldnt stop showing her what love could be.. if she only shared it with him. " You sleep alright Cherie? You know we should get a bed for t'e guest bedroom, just in case anyone wants to stay t'e night. Or for when Miah gets older and her friends want to 'ave a sleep over." Pip suggested.

-Alice Ladd & Miah Bernadetto-
If Alice could read minds, she'd probably just tell him to forgot about those silly worries that distracted him. They had been doing so well, but like every male he had to think and worry... Men... "At the garage..." she repeated, thinking about all the crap they dropped down there. Every now and then Pip would make a comment about it, but Alice made it quite clear that all that stuff would be down there until they either broke up or she was in a grave. "I've just been after Miah" replied the woman, closing her eyes at that little massage. Oh that was nice~ She nodded at his first words, moving then to think of the guest room. "It wouldn't be a bad idea really" agreed Alice. It was still way too early to be thinking on the older Miah when she was just a baby but that was besides the point. What was a point though, was the constant thinking Pip had been at lately. She wasn't sure what that was about really... and it was right about time she asked. "What have you been thinking about? ...That you need guns to consult on?" Alice really only gave him a second or so before throwing the question at him. It was always be better to be direct with him wasn't it?

Pip hesitated he didnt want to answer that question really. So he just kind of continued the massage and stayed silent for a bit. But it wasnt long before the silence started to bother him and he knew Alice would pry it out of him eventually. "Just.. some worries of mine Cherie.." Pip said gently before he smiled lightly. "I know you love me, but.... sometimes.. i just... eets..." Pip sighed and stopped the massage only to hang his head a bit. She was going to kill him for this. Or worse say that he was right! "I just question sometimes.. if you really do or not. I know your issues with eet Alice. But, you constantly shoot down my advances for i love you's and marriage... eets... a bit disheartening. And sometimes i wonder if you do even love me, or if eets just... i dont know." Pip shook his head and just rested his hands on Alice's shoulders. He let out a long sigh and closed his eye. Well.. she wanted an answer, thats what she got. He almost didnt want to hear her answer him, or yell at him. But it was the truth, lately he had been feeling a bit heartbroken because of all this. It wasnt that they were fighting, or anything of the sort. Honestly things were great between them... well.. to an extent. Pip just wanted an i love you out of Alice, even if only once and awhile. Just something to show that she loved him and just wasnt staying around because she needed help raising Miah.

-Alice Ladd & Miah Bernadetto-
That silence was enough of a warning for Alice and she was already expecting something... just something to be wrong. Then he started. When he first mentioned worries, she wasn't quite sure what he could be worried about. Everything was fine... wasn't it? He stopped the massage with a sigh, saying something that had a hesitant look in Alice's eye. He wouldn't know of course, her back to him and all. It was that wasn't it? She knew before he had said it. When he did say it, it was kind of irritating actually. Weren't they in a good place? Wasn't this enough? Her gaze went to the side, letting silence sink in now. This wouldn't end well, no matter how she approached this. Alice was fine with how it was now, it was probably all he would get out of her. Pip knew. She made it clear...
"..." At some point in the silence, Alice shook off Pip's hands and stood up. With her back to him, she shrugged. "So this isn't enough for you?" finally said the brunette, her tone was rather off though. She continued to walk to the kitchen, which was basically in front of the table, if only to distance herself from him. When she stopped, she leaned against the counter, not looking at Pip for a moment. "We're living together... We have a kid... I figured it was all fine. Apparently I was wrong." Now her gaze did meet Pip's, and it was a rather tense one. She didn't want this conversation, it was only natural for her to be defensive. "I've told you time and time again Pip... If I don't believe in it, I'm making false promises." What was love if not that? Marriage was a fallacy... she was never going to take part of that. "I thought we were clear on that." Had she been anything but that? Now she wondered...

Great... he had pissed her off. Again. He knew he shouldnt have said anything. She wasnt going to understand, she never would. This was enough for him, but.. he still wanted to hear Alice say that she loved him.... he wanted her to believe in it. But.. It just wasnt going to happen was it? Pip frowned lightly and approached Alice. "Im sorry.. forget i said anyt'ing.. I didnt mean to upset you. Eet is enough for me." Pip said forcing a bit of a smile. "You are right Alice, Cherie. We are living toget'er, we 'ave a beautiful kid, as beautiful as 'er mot'er." Pip said with a genuine smile as he reached out and gently touched Alice's shoulders. He cupped her chin with his hand and wrapped his arm around Alice's waist pulling her close. "I'm sorry.. eets just sometimes i want to 'ear you say t'at you love me. I want you to believe in eet... but.. i know you won't." Pip said as that sad smile came back. "...And i should just be 'appy with t'at." Pip said before he leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. It wasnt one of his usually passionate ones, a sign that she would be able to tell something was off about him. Releasing Alice, Pip had dropped the smile. "Like i said Cherie.. forget i said a t'ing.. everyt'ing is fine." But it wasnt. For Pip, who wanted it all, marriage, the i love you's, the kid, the house, a job, friends. To not have some parts of that, left the Frenchman feeling a bit empty. But he didnt want to upset Alice further. So he kept his mouth shut. He would have to watch what he said, in fear that Alice would leave him if he kept pushing her too much more. She had put up with him long enough, and lately things just seemed to be a deal of convenience. Alice had someone to help her with Miah, or so it was seeming that way with the Frenchman.

-Alice Ladd & Miah Bernadetto-
The words were right... or they would be if Pip meant them. Alice wasn't heartless enough to ignore those signs, but it didn't mean she would tend to them. Actually, it irritated her more. Pip wanted it all, she... she hadn't even wanted this, what the two of them had. Yes, they had become a couple, at first it was pretty much just a physical thing. In her mind anyways. But Pip had been persistent, and would at least admit to liking him. Still that was about as far as he would get. Still, deep deep down, in a subconscious that Alice often ignored, she knew it wasn't enough for him. How much he would take was a matter she simply never thought off. That was probably why she simply looked to the side when he made his move. However when he said to just drop it, her eye met his, clearly not believing his words. Besides, he was as energetic as a dead fly. For someone who was always up and about? Not exactly a good sign.
A hand went to the woman's side and she simply shook her head. "Don't lie to me. Even four years ago I wouldn't believe that crap." It probably sounded a bit harsher than she intended, but if he thought she would believe him, he was sadly mistaken. He was a hopeless romantic, right from the start... who was doomed right from the start. "Look at you... you expect me to believe you're all right with this?" she asked him, her gaze never leaving his. "This is just fine for me. I don't want anything more. Anything more... it just wouldn't work." Really... what did he want her to do? Run off with him and marry him? Then what? A year at the most of happy blessings, the same as they were before, then to fight, divorce, fight about the girl... he'd leave her and Miah... It was always the same... It would be. Just like it was sixteen years ago... it'd be the same... "It doesn't work Pip. Life isn't romantic. It's ridiculous to think what you want will actually work." Now, she was really pushing it.

Pip frowned when Alice caught him on his lie. He let her speak her mind, it only confirmed alot of his worries. Anything more just wouldnt work. Life isnt romantic. What he wanted wouldnt actually work. Those words hurt.. and they hurt deep. She never did love him, he was just deluding himself into thinking she had. Pip's gaze dropped, while his heart plumpted into the pit of his stomach. She would never love him. So what was he to her? Just a sperm donor and help with the child? "Oui." Pip said disheartendly as he kept his gaze to the ground. He couldnt look at her, not after her little speech there. "With t'at closed mind and 'eart, eet will never work." Pip said as he met Alice's gaze with his own hurt one. "I cant believe t'at after t'ree years you still wont give eet a chance. After me showing you constantly t'at t'ings can be romantic and loving. I can only keep putting my 'eart out t'ere only to 'ave you t'row it back in my face like t'is, after you stomped on eet. I didnt t'ink i was t'is much of a fool." Pip said irritated as s**t, hurt as hell. He felt like a kicked dog, left for dead by the side of the road by its master. Okay maybe that was a bit extreme but he felt like complete s**t. Pip shook his head and swallowed the lump in his throat. "I dont know what i am to you t'en. No.. wait i do. Apparently just a persistent burden. 'opeless romantic is right. Because if i continue to love you, and you never love me back... eet really is 'opeless." Pip said before he ran his hand down his braid and shook his head once more. He couldnt believe her. He didnt even want to look at her right now. It would just get him bawling. "Im going to get a drink.. ill be back later. Ill be sleeping on t'e couch, dont wait up for dinner. T'is fool can manage on 'is own." Pip said in a hurtful tone before he left the kitche, grabbed his coat and headed outside. -Exit Pip to the Grindhouse-

-Alice Ladd & Miah Bernadetto-
In alternate world, Alice would've dropped her glare, felt for the man, and told him everything he wanted to hear. But it wasn't an alternate world... Pip's delusion had to come crashing at some point. She wasn't that, she would never be that. Which is why her eyes stayed narrowed when he had resorted to pity. Well in her mind it seemed pitiful... Alice merely crossed her arms in front of him as he finished speaking before leaving. A scoff came from her as the door shut behind him and she shook her head. "This one can too..." She had been a fool herself for playing along with this charade. What was this though? What had made her stupid enough to move in with someone? Like last time went any better... He didn't understand... he probably never would. Not a marriage in her family lasted, her last relationship was hell, and she stopped believing in that crap when she was a kid. A hopeless romantic with a broken heart wasn't going to fix this... Alice sighed, there wasn't much to do now. If he wanted to get wasted... well Alice already was expecting the worse whenever he came back... Reality sunk in for Pip, and Alice wasn't really feeling guilty about that right now. Not at the moment anyways. She had an upset baby to take care off... So this is what her life had come too...

Well lets be honest, Pip's heart was in shambles about as much as his coordination was at the moment. Why did all the alcohol have to hit him on his walk home?! He was sure Alice would be pissed at him for leaving and pissed for not returning home until. Well the sun was up, so the next day. But he had to return, even if only for the fact that he lived here. And mainly, his main reason for returning back to this quaint little house, Miah. The apple of his eye. Pip had decided on focusing his efforts on raising Miah more than trying to get Alice to love and marry him. Because that wasn't happening, Tate had helped him get that straight at least. Opening the door, Pip came in as quietly as he could, having not slept at all. But honestly that wasn't too much of a problem. Not when you were an ex-mercenary and night owl to begin with. Pip locked the door and set his keys on the hook near the front door. It was a great place to keep keys so you didn't lose them. Of course this time instead of successfully slipping the keyring on the hook, Pip managed to fumble the keys he had and they fell to the ground in a melody of noise. So much for a stealthy entrance. Pip sighed and left the keys were they were. ******** it, he could pick them up later. Or Alice could pick them up and throw them at his head later. Whatever came first, probably the latter. Pip stumbled his way towards the bathroom and slipped inside only to start undressing. some painkillers, a keg of water, a cold shower and seeing his baby girl would do some good. Of course undressing became a bit of a problem with his lack of coordination. His shirt came off pretty easy, but he struggled with his boots and almost panicked when he couldn't get his pants off until he realized he needed to undo his belt first. By the time he had stripped finally, he had just gotten the water running in the shower when he heard signs of life in the hallway just outside the bathroom door. Was Alice going to come in and yell at him? Or wait until he came out to yell at him? If she waited would he be safe if he just stayed in the bathroom for the week?
