WTF IS WRONG WITH HER. THAT IS YOUR DAUGHTER. YOU GAVE BIRTH TO HER.
I know you must be going through a lot with 2 kids and you need some money but STILL. That is just cold...
I was screaming OMG and slappin my foot stool for like 2 minutes straight.
What do you guys think about this?

I was and still am upset that a mother ((even if this is in a tv series)) would do that!
I mean yeah. You weren't their for around 17 years of her life. But those 11 months she did have her, she must have had some good times with her child.
And really. Do you want to have your daughter DIE because you didn't give her a kidney even though your blood type matched? It's on her head.
I'm also a bit shocked at what Eli said,I was expecting that sooner or later, but not that quick . You?

I thought what Holly J's mother was pretty upsetting as well.
Though you do have to look at it from both of their points of view, and while it is cold to Holly J for her to be expected to pay that much, her mother has a family. A family she needs to take care of. Her having her kidney taken out is no simple procedure and could have complications. She may be looking at MONTHS of recovery depending on how they take it out, her age, her health and if she has any complications.
She will most definitely not be able to work, so how will she be able to take care of her kids? She will have to trade keeping her family afloat for a child she hasn't seen for 17 years. Yes, it's to keep her alive, but she's been with her current children longer, she's been through more with them, obviously she has a stronger bond with them, and she doesn't want them having to give up everything for this.
You have to realize she needs the money for them, not herself.
But I do feel for Holly J. It is a cold and horrible thing to expect out of her if she wants to live. It isn't a right decision for anyone. Dying or living isn't something you should ever have to choose from. Especially so young. It's sad that her birth mother is making her decide between those two options.
But I can see the dilemma with both of them. So I'm not taking sides.
Also, Eli did shock me. I wasn't expecting that, nor what may happen, according to the preview (even though the previews always make everything worst than the are, lol). I really hope nothing bad happens to Jake, though I do doubt it. Eli is just losing his sanity. I actually feel sorry for Imogen now. She likes him so much.

I was not expecting that!! I thought that Dawn (Don?) didn't want to do the procedure at all, but she does... for money!
It is pretty horrible, but you do have to look at both sides, like Yokies said. Holly J does have a medical condition and could possibly die, but the mom does have to support two children (without a dad for them I think).

Holly J: You just found out that you are adopted, and you have to have a kidney transplant. Most likely, the only person who can donate is your birth mom who you've never met before. You finally meet her and talk to her about your huge "problem". It's a life or death situation and she wants $20,000 if she does it. You feel like she's let you down because, after all, you are her child.
Dawn: You are raising two children. You have just met your third child who you gave up for adoption 17 years ago. She needs a kidney in order to live (it's pretty much like that). The recovery will probably take a few months. You ask for $20k if you do it. You think it's only fair because you just met her, you don't have a relationship with her at all, and you need money so you can still support your kids while you are out of work.
It's a hard decision, but what would you do if you were Holly J's mother?

I also have a hunch that Holly J may start looking into getting a kidney from her father instead.
He probably wouldn't charge her 20k, and her mother would probably push her towards that.

I highly doubt that. Her father didn't even want to give her his name.
So she's probably not getting anything out of him.

There really isn't a side to take on it, because Holly J wins whether she pays for the Kidney or not. And her birth mother is given the opportunity to make up for giving her up for adoption, and she needs that money for her two young children, not for herself. Her mother is single (even said it in the episode).
Unless Holly J's mother tells her where her father is, then I doubt she's gonna even be able to find him in time to ask him, at which point I don't think he'll say yes. I think Fiona (or even Declan) might come to the rescue and pay Holly J's mother for her...
And... Eli only said that because Imogen messed up what she was doing by having Eli see Clare and Jake kissing. Making him realize he wasn't over her at all and stuff. Poor Imogen was going about things all wrong, and slightly crazily. o.O;

I honestly don't like how you worded that. Pay her back for putting her up for adoption? If she didn't do that Holly J would have probably had to live her life in squander and wouldn't be where she is now. What she did was best for Holly J, she shouldn't owe her anything. She was able to have a good life through adoption.
