WP Daemon Spadi and I have pretty much finished the intro into the next story, so he and I were thinking it's about time we did a shout out to the people who have joined the guild recently (at least 3 of you, I believe). So to all the new members, here's a few things you could do as the new story starts.
1. Create a character profile- This is pretty simple, all you need to do is create a character and post a profile about them. If you're not sure how to write it, per say, there are plenty examples in the Members thread to go through. You should probably start with the ones Daemon and I put up recently, that would be the ideal way to set it up. But any of the profiles in there are fine. Also, if you're confused about what you want your character to be, I suggest visiting all of the sticky posts, specifically the Military Structure, Doctrine, Protocol, Operations , Misc that Outlaw wrote. It'll give you a summary of what are the different branches and what they do.
2. Post in the OOC- Daemon, Outlaw, and I have already started this, but if you want to know what's going on/have any questions/just want to chat, go to the OOC thread! We can explain the history of the rp, who's around and who isn't anymore, what we're planning to do next, etc. But we're also fairly social people and will talk about various other things, so the best way to know what's going on is to join us there. It's also the best way for us to figure out who you are/how involved you in in the rp.
3. When the Main Story Starts... Post!- Outlaw is currently working on a new intro to the story, so we're all waiting for him to finish writing it and post it. So when he is finished, everyone's pretty much open to start posting. If you don't know where to start, see my previous point or simply wait for the rest of us to get moving to get an idea. But we'd all love to see more than just 3 people posting, so when you're ready join in!
Those are pretty much the important things to do. Not very difficult at all! Here are a couple of other things to consider when writing, though...
4. Check Your Grammar- We don't have a writing requirement to join our rp, I know, but for the sake of legibility try to proof read what you post before posting it. It simply makes reading easier, the posts run smoother, and is overall good presentation. If you want an idea of what I mean, read over the Campaign intro post Daemon and I wrote. Again, we're not going to kick people out if you write run on sentences or get your tenses wrong, but this is a good skill for everyone to master.
5. Please No Drama- It's the internet, so this is inevitable, and I don't think we've had a major problem with this. But I'm going to make a point of it anyways: Please, let's try to avoid any drama. It simply ruins the experience when two or more people begin fighting with each other over the simplest of matters. Even though this is indeed a war and campaign story, keep the fighting in the story and not in the OOC/with other members.
