The Prophecy
The goddess of springtime is gone and unknown The lord of the dead can do nothing but moan. Bring more than seven and you shall pay For danger is imminent in ahead what lay. Love conquers all as you shall see Take heed or spring will forever cease to be.

Oliver paced anxiously on Half-Blood Hill, not even feeling the rough winter wind. This may or may not have been because he was dressed for the cold in a knee-length wool gray overcoat, a sweater and jeans, mittens, striped scarf, and super light moccasins he'd asked the Hermes campers to find him. This may have been unusual if one heard he was wearing this in mid-March, but a lot of things were unusual that year. It was far colder in every region over the globe than expected, so much that the mortals were taking back their theory on global warming and theorized that they were witnessing the early stages of a new ice age. Of course, only panic could follow this latest development, and countries were searching desperately for a different explanation.
Oliver knew otherwise. He knew the weather was the way it was because Persephone had been kidnapped and Demeter was more distraught than ever. He knew the world would return to normal when she was found. And he knew only he and seven others could do it.
The son of Zeus sighed, adjusting the shoulder strap of his bag to make it more comfortable to carry. It held various things, including clothes, rations, ambrosia and nectar, spare bullets, and miscellaneous supplies. He briefly wondered if he would be able to return the compass to Thomas that he'd been given. A sort of goodbye gift, if you would. Their farewell had been teary enough, with Thomas doing most of the sobbing and Oliver doing the reassuring. His thoughts drifted to his satyr friend as he waited for the other campers to show up.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx █████████████████ ████████████ ████████ Amadeus stared at the bottom of Half-Blood Hill with a frown. The cold wind gnawed at his cheeks as he tried to figure out the best way to climb the hill without falling. He was a genius, yes, but physical activities like this were not his forte. They were better left to people like Gregorovich and Simon, his newfound bodyguard at camp. He gently kicked at the snow once with the toe of his Armani loafer, wondering how much Simon would laugh at him should he fall.
Amadeus was saved from further analysis of the snowy hill when his phone vibrated in the right breast pocket of his black overcoat. A text message. He took the phone out numbly with a gloved hand, swiftly checking the message. His smirk grew more pronounced with every word read. "Gregorovich has fired up the Lear jet, and is coming for me at this very moment. He apparently got a hold of your criminal record from the Internet," he told the trailing figure behind him, who of course was Simon. The Irish genius quickly sent to work sabotaging his employee's flight, waiting for the blonde to catch up. ooc; N/AMADE BY PURPLEINATOR. DO NOT REMOVE.

Leena ran for the hill, a skip in her step. She was rather cheerful, and was looking forward to going on the quest with Oliver. It reminded her of how she had gotten to camp five years ago. She saw two people at the bottom of the hill, a boy with dark hair who was very finely dressed, and made her feel slightly self-conscious in her green hoodie and 'save the earth' t-shirt, and a man with blonde hair. She heard the boy say something about a 'criminal record' and she frowned, but tried to ignore it.
Stopping at the bottom of the hill, she looked up to where Oliver was. Good, he wasn't facing her. Offering the pair at the bottom of the hill a cheerful smile, as they were obviously coming on the quest too, else they probably wouldn't be there, she adjusted how her bag sat on her shoulder and charged up the hill towards Oliver.
It was slightly strange for her to be at camp during the year, but her adoptive parents knew what she was, and when all the strange weather started happening, they had sent her here, hoping to keep her safe. She was glad to be going on the quest too, because, as a daughter of Demeter, Persephone was her sister, so of course she wanted the queen of the underworld to be okay.
As she reached the top of the hill, she shifted into a flying hug towards Oliver, hoping that he wouldn't try to move out of the way. "Oliver! It's soo good to see you!" she squealed.

Oliver was shaken out of his thoughts when a pair of demi-gods made their way to the bottom of the hill. One was they very essence of rich, dressed in the finest suit money could buy and an equally nice coat and scarf. The man behind him was blonde and a good foot taller, trailing behind the other one. The genius and his bodyguard. He had been all for letting the son of Athena come, gods know they needed someone who could figure out who had taken Persephone, but he had been reluctant in letting the son of Thanatos come as well. He'd heard rumors around camp, and was slightly scared of him lest theses rumors were true, but Amadeus had made it clear that he wasn't going anywhere without Simon. And he seemed comfortable enough with him, so he'd allowed Simon along, against his better judgement.
The son of Zeus was nervous about the quest, but excited too. Everyone had said for years that there was some great destiny awaiting him, and he knew for sure that this was one part. Nervous because Hades himself had requested him in a dream, the child of one of his hated siblings. That in itself proved just how dire the situation was becoming.
Oliver heard a familiar squeal from behind him and turned to see his old friend Leena fly in a hug towards him. She had been a demi-god he'd rescued when he had been thirteen, the youngest of the lot at eight years old. He held his arms out to catch her in the hug, lifting her up off her feet and twirling her once in the air before setting her down on her feet with a charming half smile. "Great to see you too, Leena. You've gotten taller," he observed, having last seen her months previously.

Previous manservant, I assume?" Simon questioned, having figured that the name and protective sense behind the man retrieving Amadeus together led to his previous manservant and bodyguard. He had been sidetracked when he tripped, and thus rolled in the snow. His hair was coated with snow, since he hadn't really worn anything warm. He had an opened vest over a red dress shirt and a white undershirt beneath it. His pants were black slacks, and he had worn sneakers. He laughed at Amadeus, who seemed to be trying to figure out how to get up the hill. "Want a ride?" he asked, bending down for a piggyback ride since he would be faster getting up it anyway with Amadeus staring at it like a gaping fish. He grinned at Amadeus.
It was March, which meant it was starting to warm up, supposedly. "Hey, at least he doesn't know that you and I are starting to hang out," the man said. Once they made it to the top, he said to Amadeus. "So...? Where're we goin'? Huh? Huh?" He was nudging the shorter man with his arm. Looking at everyone, he sighed. "Why am I always the oldest?! ░░▒▓▓██████►şγđŋεγ ąųşŧŗąℓïą DΔƱGHƬΣΓ ΘF ∏IƘΣ◄███▓▒░░ Sydney neared the bottom of the hill, rubbing her hands together to try to warm them. The chill wasn't too bad on her hands, so she wasn't wearing the gloves that dangled out of her back pocket, but her hands still got a tad stiff. Although, she was wearing a skull cap and a thick leather jacket. The tall black combat boots protected her feet from the snow.
As she looked around the base of Half Blood Hill, she noticed a particularly well dressed boy and a blonde man who she recognized from the whispers around camp. She wasn't sure if this was actually the guy, but when the suited boy said something about a criminal record her suspicions were confirmed. Nevertheless, she wasn't in the least bit frightened. She didn't know him, and she wasn't planning to get on his bad side. She sighed a bit, knowing that she probably would anyways without meaning to. She always said things that shouldn't be said. But the Daughter of Nike had no filter between her brain and her mouth, so whatever she was thinking usually spewed forth in an amused, slightly cocky tone.
When the Australian demi-god crested the hill, she nodded at the two people there, perpetual smirk on her face, "Good morning. Looks like you all are in a right cheery mood." She waved down the hill at the others, then turned back to the two demi-gods nearest her, "Perhaps I should introduce myself. I'm Sydney Australia... But I assume you already know that because I'm here." As she said this last part she chuckled towards Oliver. тακe α вяeαтħ, ħøłđ ıт ıи, šтαят α fıgħт, чøυ ωøи'т ωıи. ħαđ eиøυgħ؟ łeт'š вegıи, иeνeямıиđ, ı đøи'т ¢αяe

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx █████████████████ ████████████ ████████ Amadeus looked up from his phone, snorting softly when Simon offered to give him a piggyback ride. It would look silly, a seventeen-year-old heir riding on the back of a man in his early twenties. No, not silly - downright ridiculous. And Amadeus would never look like such if he could help it. "I gave up piggyback rides when I was eight months old and settled for walking on my own two feet," he replied testily. "And Gregorovich is still my manservant, although he has been given paid vacation for the summer. Truth be told, it was only Chiron's word that allowed me to leave Ireland without him, and he is simply infuriated that I signed up for a quest without proper protection. Knowing him, our newfound friendship is the exact reason he is coming to camp so quickly." The Irish teenager gave the hill another dubious look before walking up it to the top, focusing on the screen of his phone for a distraction.
Amadeus set one foot on the hilltop, sighing in relief that he had made it without tripping. Ironically, this is the exact moment he slipped on a patch of ice, falling on his face in the snow. He picked himself up almost immediately, dusting the snow off his suit and coat. How embarrassing. "This hill is treacherous. It shouldn't even be allowed at camp," he commented casually to Simon, who was as perky as could be, in contrast to Amadeus, who always retained an icy composure. He gazed around at the assembled demi-gods, counting five in all; a redhead, a brunette girl, and a brunette boy, their quest leader. He sighed with irritation as Simon nudged him and asked where they were going, although he knew the answer. "LA, which currently houses the Underworld. It should be interesting to see," he mused aloud. The young heir gazed up at his bodyguard, who was a good foot taller than everyone and pretty much the oldest to. "Life was never meant to be fair, my friend," he replied, which was about as consoling as he got.
He gazed at the boy, Oliver, who smiled graciously at them. "Who wouldn't be cheery? It's a nice day to go on a quest from which we may never return from," he replied with a quiet chuckle. "I'm Oliver Hazard Perry, and this is Leena Kallin-Wood." Oliver looked to Amadeus with a friendly smile, which he returned with a smirk. "Should we take comfort in the fact that our quest leader's middle name is 'hazard?' Or it really is appropriate in thinking you are what your name foretells?" ooc; Oliver's scarf has gray, black, and red stripes. MADE BY PURPLEINATOR. DO NOT REMOVE.

"Do you believe like I believe
You have to believe we are magic Nothin' can stand in our way" Grey hummed a tune happily as he walked towards hill. His backpack was filled with some potions he had made up, as well as the usual bring-alongs: nectar, ambrosia, drachma, mortal money, some snacks, a water bottle, the like. He also had some dried herbs and empty bottles for making more potions, as well as spells, and a lighter. In the outer jacket of his black coat, his Ipod sat, turned off, but already set to a playlist that included his favorite songs, as well as some he had recorded himself, since there was no way that he would bring his precious instrument on such a dangerous quest.
He began to snap his fingers absentmindedly, but he stopped when a spark of magic flew out. Whoops. Shrugging, he shoved his hands in his coat pockets and continued on his way. Wearing a long-sleeved white dress-shirt, black vest and black dress pants, the only thing that suggested Grey was dressed for the unnatural weather, and for the quest, was the black jacket that he wore, unzipped, and the running shoes on his feet.
He trudged up the hill in the snow, trying not to slip and fall, and, miraculously, succeeding. There was already a small group there, five people in all, and he recognized most of them. Having been coming to camp every summer for the past three years, he recognized several of the people, but not all of them, and he didn't really know those he did recognize all that well. He pondered for a second if Oliver could be an exception to that. They hadn't really had any serious (or long) conversations, but the son of Zeus was the reason that Grey was at camp that day, instead of hanging out with his dad, or at school or something. And it wasn't just because of the quest either. Oliver was part of a little experiment Grey had started, and somehow, not lost interest in. Of course, the question of whether or not Oliver realized it was a different matter.
Approaching the group, he stopped his absentminded humming and flashed them a smile. "Well, looks like we're only missing two people." he commented to the group, "I'm Gregory, but call me Grey."

Leena giggled happily when Oliver picked her up and spun her around before setting her down. She gave him a mock pout at his statement. "Maybe like an inch. I'm still short!" she half-complained in a joking manner. To be honest, she didn't mind being short all that much, it just meant that she could fit into smaller places than most. That and the fact that she was only 13, she had lots of growing time left!
She smiled at the other two who approached, the ones who had been standing at the bottom of the hill, when Oliver introduced her. At the man's words about being she oldest, she shrugged and began bouncing on the balls of her feet. "Well, I'm most definitely the youngest on this quest!" she told him giddily, "Don't worry about it too much!"
Turning to the brunette who approached, she ran forward and hugged her, that was her version of a greeting after all, and she would have hugged the other two, but they both looked kind of intimidating, albeit a bit silly since the younger boy had managed to slip on some ice and face-plant in the snow. She also noticed a boy in dress clothes approach, although his were not as fine as the ones the boy who had tripped was wearing, and she listened as he introduced himself, although she did recognize him from around camp. "Pleased to meet you Sydney and Grey! I'm Leena Kallin-Wood!" she said with a giggle.

Oliver grinned mischievously at Amadeus, giving the boy a wink. "I was named after a US naval hero. I'm a bit of a hazard to those I come in contact with." He had met the son of Athena a few times previous to the quest and had realized quickly that he took great joy in being patronizing and was not about to give him the satisfaction. "I know who your namesake is," Amadeus replied briskly, taking the implied lack of intelligence as an insult.
Oliver nodded at Gregory, or Grey as he preferred to be called. He was suspicious that the various potions that meddled with his emotions were made by the Hecate counselor himself. He made a mental note to ask the boy about it later, when there was no one around to call him paranoid.
Oliver was wrenched from his thoughts when Amadeus waved his hand around to get their attention. "Very well - I consent to this trade of introductions. I am Amadeus Hawthorne II." Oliver nodded at his patronizing words, not letting his superior tone bother him. "Did you get the plane tickets from Chiron like I asked?" The Irish heir snorted softly. "I refuse to ride in economy like a civilian and first class is sold out. Father has sent over a jet at the airport for our use for this quest." Oliver raised an eyebrow, slightly impressed. "I assume that includes a pilot?" Amadeus smiled and the son of Zeus could have sworn the fangs of a vampire were about to sprout from his gums. "I am the pilot. Though, there is a flight attendant, if that makes you feel any better."

░░▒▓▓██████►şγđŋεγ ąųşŧŗąℓïą DΔƱGHƬΣΓ ΘF ∏IƘΣ◄███▓▒░░ Sydney was caught off guard when the girl, Leena, suddenly hugged her. She took a step back, "Uh, hi." Hesitantly, she hugged Leena back, sighing when the girl pulled away. Sydney was not a very "touchy" person. In fact, the farthest she usually went was a handshake, and sometimes not even that. She nodded at Grey, smiling slightly. She looked around the group, from the rumored murderer to the young business boy, there quest leader to the huggy girl. She smirked as the Irish boy fell flat on his face, and she just barely held back her laugh.
She couldn't finish her scan because the sharp dressed boy waved his hands and she looked at him. She chuckled quietly, He even has a "rich" name. This bloke is going to be entertaining. Her eyes grew wide when he said he had a jet on the way. She loved jets. She loved flying in general. Although, it did worry her a bit when Amadeus said that he'd be the pilot, "Are you sure you know how to fly that thing?" She wondered if the flight attendant could take control if Amadeus messed up. And if the flight attendant couldn't, then the Australian girl could. Not that she thought she was better than this kid, but she didn't want to take any chances. тακe α вяeαтħ, ħøłđ ıт ıи, šтαят α fıgħт, чøυ ωøи'т ωıи. ħαđ eиøυgħ؟ łeт'š вegıи, иeνeямıиđ, ı đøи'т ¢αяe

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx █████████████████ ████████████ ████████ Amadeus snorted softly as Simon started singing his little conception about fairness. Honestly, the man was a loyal friend and all, but he had the matureness of a three-year-old at times. He missed Gregorovich's still and silent nature, who was constantly in his quiet place unless his young charge was being threatened. Though, he supposed he'd given up a life of uninterrupted crime when he went hunting for mythological creatures.
Amadeus grinned deviously at the brunette girl who had questioned his aircraft skills. "I have been flying various aircrafts since I was eight and a half. I think a little cross-country jaunt won't be too difficult." His phone beeped in his pocket and he slipped it out, checking the screen briefly before putting it back. It would seem that his sabotage to his manservant's flight had worked rather well, as expected. It also seemed that the same manservant suspected him of the sabotage as well. Oh well - it was a small price to pay for the safety of his regular bodyguard. Amadeus was not in fact as cold-hearted as he appeared to be and did not want his mentor to get mixed up in all the mythological madness.
"It is a Citation Excel, a private jet my family owns. Very 'posh-posh' indeed," he said in reply to Simon's question. As if his father would submit to having one of those rigid company jets for the family's private use. ooc; N/AMADE BY PURPLEINATOR. DO NOT REMOVE.
