I love to tektek. I spend a lot of time in AT (Avatar Talk). While the crowd there can be critical enough to draw blood, their avatars consistently blow my mind. While I don't consider myself on their league I do whip some up for fun and for my own closet. I'm always willing to tek others, so if you need my help with one feel free to ask!

A fun one I made for no reason:

If she wasn't so expensive I'd buy her myself (goes for all my teks really)

A personal favorite and my avi for a small while:

Anybody have 700k so I can make this one? lmao

So simple and yet so pricey:

Just a few. They pop out from time to time.

Heehee, I also love TekTeking but, I find that in a lot of cases, where I've finally reached my dream avi goal, sometimes the layering just does NOT work the way it does in TekTek and then I get super disappointed.

That has happened to me too. A good trick for that is to go to AT or the Dressing Room and ask if the Tek you made layers. A lot of the AT regulars have expansive inventories and will help you out. They might even suggest alternative items to get the same effect that will layer. 3nodding

Hm, never thought about that.

Hey, just curious because I feel that this is completely set up to cater to the TekTekkers, how do you feel about the outfit marketplace?

I love tektekking but I've never been able to stick to one dream outfit ... I dream one item at a time then work them in with beautiful things I already have with my new treasures biggrin (AKA my dragon hoarde)

Your tekteks are very nice. Very matchy (which I love)

I agree! And then there is also the fact that there seems to be a handful of new items out semi-weekly... which pulls me off of my TekTek quests because I want to get said new items before they go rare. confused

I think it benefits tekers and the general gaian who lacks the creativity or item knowledge to create a complex outfit. I wonder what it's effect on the marketplace will be as outfits trend toward one specific item. I think that some Avatar Talk gaians will be upset about it. They put A LOT of work into their avis to make them original so a lot more of them will set their items worn to private to keep random gaians from stealing their style and selling it on the marketplace. I also wonder it's effect on the avatar arena. Who gets the credit for an avi that wins the arena the person who created the avi or the person who bought the outfit and wore it?

Thank you. While I appreciate the non matching, texture and theme avis when I make something for a personal avi I prefer color balance.

You know, you bring up a really good point! I never really thought of the prospect of Gaian's using the outfit marketplace as a way to lazily put together an entry to the avatar arena. There are two things that come to mind though that I feel would hinder success in that aspect though:
1> I honestly haven't found too many creative outfits (from casual surfing) in the marketplace that would remotely hold a candle to those winning outfits in the arena.
2> Another aspect of the avatar arena that seems to pull a lot of votes (aside from the popularity contest involved) is what is written in the descriptions for each entrant. Whether is it a short story or a poem, people who contribute some sort of creativity in the way of words for their competing avatar tend to grab a little extra attention from voters.

Good Points! Maybe I wasn't giving the voters enough credit.
