I don't know about the rest of you, but when I write I like to listen to music. I don't know why, but something about good music inspires me to write. Perhaps it's the musician in me. Who knows. Well, what I wanted to know is, what do YOU listen to when you write. ^^

When I'm writing my books, I usually listen to my playlist on iTunes. Stuff that...well, one could kick some tail to. >.> I dunno why, but fight music is something of a favorite, regardless of genre or language.

Then maybe you can help me. I sometimes wish I had something to turn to when I'm trying to get my characters to "kick tail," as you describe it. But I'm awful at looking up... things.

My biggest problem with listening to music while I type is the lyrics. I have to listen to instrumental music, or I'll get distracted by the words of the song and can't get my own words out. ><
That being said, instrumental music isn't that hard to find. My favorites include "No Blue Thing" by Ray Lynch and "M_Water" (part of the soundtrack for an old computer game, Lords of Magic).
