Dear Diary....

Oh bleh. That sounds so impersonal! You need a name! But the others might think it's strange that I gave my diary a name.... Oh well! It's not like they're going to read this right? So I shall dub you..... Demi! Because I'm a demi-god see! My mother is Demeter. And after all, I'm going to use you to record what happens to me at Camp-Half blood (since all my other 3 diaries are full).

Anyways, my name is Leena Melody Kallin-Wood, and I’m 13 years old! Sometimes my friends call me Lee, or Kali. You may be wondering why I have two last names, but it's because I was adopted! My Father's last name was Kallin, but he died in a shooting when I was 5... Soon after that, Clare and Mark Wood adopted me.

You see that picture up there? That’s me! I’m 4’10’’ and I weigh about 95 lbs. My hair is bright red, but that’s because I dyed it! It’s natural color is a dull cornhusk blonde. I wear t-shirts with designs on them and either loose jeans or sweatpants. I’m never without my trusty green hoodie though. Just a note, the majority of my t-shirts sport eco-designs.

Some of the things I’m good at (as well as enjoy) are: gardening, camping, and drawing. And what I really enjoy are Gardening, camping, drawing, meeting new people, seeing everyone happy, hugs, celebrations, our wonderful diverse planet Earth! And a bunch of other stuff as well. I dislike bullies, seeing someone sad, environmental destruction, landfill sites, non-reusable plastic bottles, guns, war, blood, having to talk about what happened to my dad.

I kind of want to try writing out my personality, like one of those character sheets I make up for the people I draw! Hmm.. Let’s see… I’m very cheerful and almost never sad, unless you remind me of bad memories or tease me too much. I always want to see that everyone else is cheerful as well, and I love hugs! Don’t be surprised if I randomly hug you! (well, not you Demi, just random people in general). I suppose that makes me rather innocent and not really cautious of strangers, but you’d be surprised. I don’t hug just anyone! Just people who look like they’re not going to hit me. Even though I’m 13, I’m still pretty childish, but I can be mature if I want to be. Don’t get me wrong though, I can throw a great tantrum if I need to! I’m very energetic as well, so I almost never sit still.

As for weapons.. Well, I don't really like to fight, so I use a weighted rope to trip people instead! I also carry a celestial bronze knife around, just in case.

I should probably sum up how I got to camp shouldn’t I? That way you know. Well… I used to live with my daddy when I was really young. I don't have very many clear memories of this time, they're mostly really fuzzy, but I know that he was a good man. He cared about me and took care of me. As I already mentioned, he was killed in a shooting when I was 5, it was an accident, he wasn't the intended target. At least, that's what the police told me. They never caught the shooter either, so now I'm starting to wonder if it wasn't a monster, although I was young at the time, so the apparent demi-god stench probably wouldn't have been all that strong.

Anyways, a couple of months later, I was adopted and moved to Wisconsin. I wasn't really sure how much I'd like them, I mean, it felt like they were trying to replace my dad, but they seemed to understand. They don't mind that I call them Mr. and Mrs. Wood instead of Mom and Dad, and Mrs. Wood even lets me call her Clare! They did insist that I add their last name to the end of mine though, not that I would have much of a choice, I was five at the time. Even thought they're not my real parents, they're still really good people. They've given me pretty much everything I could ask for, and they've pretty much accepted the whole demi-god thing. It took a bit of convincing though. Life was pretty normal for the next few years, although things started getting weird again when I was 8.

My class was on a tour of a cheese factory, and I got bored of standing around and looking at machines while some guy droned on about the cheese-making process. So I wandered off to explore. I had managed to get myself throughly lost in the factory with nobody around when suddenly a couple of monsters came out of nowhere! Well, that's not exactly true... A couple of emplyees approached me and then turned into monsters. It's just a lot less scary if I tell it the other way. Anyways, I had no way to fight them, and I didn't even really want to fight them, so I screamed at the top of my lungs, hoping the teacher, or at least someone would come find me.

Somebody did, but it wasn't the somebody I was expecting. instead it was a group of kids of varying ages, one of which fainted at the sight of the monsters. Two of the kids hung back, and the other one, obviously the oldest, charged in with a sword and shield. He managed to defeat the monsters and he introduced himself as Oliver. He told me that I was a demi-god and that I had to come with them so I would be safe. You may think that going with some kid I didn't know was a bad idea, but I was 8 at the time! I was scared witless and he had just saved my life.

We were going to leave, but you see, there was this harvest festival in town, and I loved the harvest festival! There wasn't any way I was going to miss it and I made sure the others knew that! So we all went, splitting up into two groups with an agreement to meet up later. I went off with the other kids, and Oliver went with Thomas (who turned out to be a satyr). I didn't expect to see them at all before we were going to meet up, it was a big festival, but a group of savage peacocks had other ideas. For some reason, they decided they didn't like Oliver and started chasing him around the festival. We kind of held back, after all there wasn't much we could do, and besides, it was kind of funny. Well, he finally managed to escape them, thankfully without killing them, I would have had an absolute fit if he did! (I don't care if they were attacking him! I hate blood and peacocks are pretty animals!)

We left Wisconsin and continued heading in the direction of camp, only to keep getting into situations with other demi-gods. After our little group numbered 12 people (including Thomas and Oliver) we finally made it to the camp. That was five years ago of course.

Well, that's me! Is there anything else I cant think of? Nope! nothing that I can think of at the moment!

You have been claimed by Demeter, goddess of agriculture, grain, and bread.

I was debating between Demeter and Persephone, but Demeter won out. ~
