Hey everyone and Happy August!
I am still working on crocheting my ruana, slowly but surely. I have a feeling I won't be starting anymore crochet projects this month unless someone lights a match to my booty and I get it finished.
How about you?

I'm working on a little grey bunny called "Bibo." He started off as a free crochet pattern online, but I made quite a few changes to him, as he's a gift for a friend of mine and I want him to be the cutest he can be. He's almost done, I'm just stuck on his ears! I don't know if I should make them floppy or not, or if I should design them as tubes or as flat pieces. whee

Hmm, hard to say without seeing it. I made a bunny hat once and that was the part I was stuck on as well. I ended up making the ears as hollow cones and they worked well. bunny hat on RavelryThe cones, once finished gave enough thickness for them to stand out as ears but were flat enough to work with the hat. In spite of altering the pattern you have, what does that pattern suggest?

Making a snail is always fun to do smile I managed to complete one half without a pattern. Basically you crochet a circle and continue going two times round adding in a stitch every other chain. Then you begin following the pattern doing a single crochet without adding in stitches. After about four times around it looks like hald a snail shell. You do that two times so you have two halves. Then you make another circle but only go around normally twice. Then chain enough for the length of the snail and single crochet around all of it until it looks snail like. Then you take all the pieces and sew them together, putting something such as poly-fil fluff into the shell. c:

I think I have a mental picture but it might be a little off. Do you have a pick? (is it weird that I love snail art? used to collect vintage snail stuff when I was a kid)

Also I did the same thing with snails, cause snails are awesome smile ((Sorry about the bad picture, my webcam isn't the best))

Curious, when you put the 2 halves together and stuff the little cutie, do you maintain the center hole (sort of like a donut?)

Cookie With A Halo What do you mean 'maintain the center hole'? The hole in the center of the round; in the center of the shell? Maybe I will just have to see the finished project when stuffed. LOL! Off quote but on topic: I am FORCING myself to put at least 1 - 2 hours into my Ruana today. I really want to get it done and I can't let life distract me. I can't wait to show it off too! It's my first large scale project. razz

Or how do you keep it from having the stuff inside spilling out? Or what exactly is your question... Lol

Lol I was mostly just asking, when you put it together, do you seal off the hole stuffing the whole shell or do you stitch around the inner hole and stuff it so that the shell comes off as more of a donut shape? I'm probably not being very clear... sorry for the confusion. razz

Well When I stuff mine I sew it most of the way around and stuff it at the bottom and sew it from there. i also don't sew the hole in the shell together, and so far I've never had an issue with stuffing falling out smile Hope that helps. Also it was my bad, I was kinda sleep deprived, lol so I wasn't thinking clearly

But the arms seem a little short and stubby to me (fine for arms, but not what I want for the ears). Maybe I could try it and then just make them longer than the arms.. here is a picture: bibo without ears
