By presenting your "Gilded Rose" card to your local hobby store, you will be presented with a pass that allows for free airfare to the location of our grand tournament, The Rose Championship. It will be held in one week's time at the..."
"Yeah, we know...over in Ralleigh, North Carolina." a shorter kid spoke up.
The announcement had been playing a lot that day, apparently. Nobody in the store seemed to be pulling the "Gilded Rose" cards that the Rose Duelist had mentioned. Supposedly, the grand prize was $10,000, with the 1st place prize being $5,000. Runner-ups were awarded $2,500 each and everyone that attended would be given a promotional, autographed, Black Horn of Heaven.
"Crack it open already, Eric." Adam egged as he leaned over Eric's shoulder.

Eric looked to the gold series that he had just purchased." I don't know man, its not like I have much luck..." He had a point his luck was rather shitty..."Well, here it goes." He broke the seal on the pyramid box and and opened it slowly." come on luck... don't screw up now." He then pulled the box open the she his new game mat and the pack of cards."Well, nothing yet." He set the mat aside and opened the pack. he shuffled threw it making a decent pull... until the very last card in the pack... the gilded rose.".................................... HOLY s**t!" He then jumped up from his seat and flailed his arms in the air. " I LANDED ONE! I GOT A GOLDEN ROSE! I GOT A FREE RIDE TO THE TOURNEY! ******** AWESOME! " He looked to Adam with the biggest smile on his face." DUDE! I'M IN!" He showed Adam the card that he had pulled. Tears of joy in his eyes.

"Wow. Are you serious!? Nice!" He responded with a big grin.
"You're going, aren't you? I mean, it'd be a waste if you didn't. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? You get ten minutes of air time?"
Little did they realize, someone was watching the two of them very closely.

He shook his head up and down." well of cores, why wouldn't I go?" He smiled real big. "I mean this could be the big break I need.. He turned and ran to the counter."CLERK I PULLED A GOLDEN ROSE!" He was hoping this would give him the money to get him out on his own. and even get his woman down to the states.

The shop owner eyed it for a moment and went to the computer.
"Alright set it down there and I'll enter the code." he remarked, referring to the number at the bottom left of the card.
"Dude...this is pretty sweet. Winning the championship...and your lady?" Adam encouraged, noticing someone watching them.

He pulled up a chair beside the counter and eagerly awaited the information. he knew he would get a chance to see all his friends down there as well. His foot was tappin away."well? What have you found on it yet? What airline will I be flying? What day do I have to leave... HOLY CRAP I HAVE TO CALL WORK!" He flipped out his phone and called his work. IMEDIATLY requesting work off for next week. luckily Julie their old GM was back and was more then gracious to give it t him."Dude, this is gonna be sweet. Do I get to bring a friend??? or and I flying solo? He was more then excited for this. He looked to adam."So, you wanna go If I can take another person?" However he noticed adam looking kinda concerned.

"HEY!!" Adam yelled as someone had made a mad dash out the door with the Gilded Rose card. "Come on, Eric!" he picked up his things and dashed out behind him.
The shop owner stood up with a concerned look on his face.
"You'd better catch him. I didn't get the whole code down."

"s**t!" He grabbed his other crap and his deck. his duel disk came to life as he was running out the door." GET YOUR a** BACK HERE!" Eric soon caught up to adam and drew a hand." COME ON! IF YOU REALLY WANT THAT CARD DUEL ME FOR IT!!!" He continued running.

The man stopped as his own duel disk sprung from his arm, sporting a "diamond/spade/club/heart" motif in black and red.
"Duel, you say?" He turned around, revealing himself to be a bald man, wearing a dress shirt and dress pants. His eyes were concealed by shades.
"If you can beat ME in a duel, you deserve the chance more than I do. I doubt you can, though, which is why I should go instead of you!"
Adam panted a couple times as he looked up.
"You're going to duel him for it?"
"The name's Ace. Ace F. Spaydz. And you....are my next victim!" Ace ignited his duel disk as he drew cards.
Adam stood between them and broke out a coin.
"Eric...call it." he said as he tossed a coin into the air.

Eric Watched the coin go up in the air and called it..... "HEADS!" the coin flipped and landed. Heads it was." YEAH, I do think that means I get first move." He fanned his hand out and took a long hard look at it. he grinned."Alright, I'm gonna play the spell card E Emergency Call, which allows me to add one elemental hero from my deck to my hand, and with that I'm gonna add Elemental hero Captain Gold. " He took the card from his deck and and placed it in his hand." and DON'T think I'm done, I'm gonna play the field spell.... SKYSCRAPER! " Buildings started to grow up from the ground and formed skyscraper."and now allow me to show you one of the headliners of my deck. ELEMENTAL HERO CAPTAIN GOLD!" You heard a battle cry come from the sky. it was the good captain standing atop one of the buildings. with a mighty leap he jummped down." and now I'll end my turn with three face downs. and then I'm gonna call it a turn. Your go!" He waited to see what his opponents move was.

Ace drew a card as he looked at Eric.
"Smooth move. Now, let's see how you like mine!" he began to play the card he'd just drawn.
"I like a change of scenery for this hand, so how about Luminous Spark! as he played the card, the skyscapers all exploded into brilliant light.
"MY field spell gives all Light attribute monsters 500 attack and they lose 400 Defense! Next, I'll play the spell, Reinforcement of the Army!" he searched his deck and revealed a Queen's Knight.
"Finally, I'll cast the spell, Polymerization! Fusing the King's Knight, Queen's Knight, and the Jack's Knight in my hand to make the trump card of my deck, Arcana Knight Joker!!!" as he coordinated the cards, Arcana Knight Joker spawned, a triumphant look upon he and Ace's faces.
"Arcana Knight Joker! Tear this fool down in one blow!" the Arcana Knight Joker raised his blade into the air, showing off his tremendous 4300 attack points.

He watched as his city and hero fell into the light and only grinned as he listened to the bald man give out a call for the attack."Well, That was a hell of a move, but I'm not gonna let this happen. I ACTIVATE MY TRAP! THREATENING ROAR! Now you can't declare an attack for the rest of your turn!" He waited to see if he had any response to the activation.

As the card's bellow sprung forth, Arcana Knight Joker cringed as he blocked the shockwave.
"Hmph! It stalls your death for THIS turn! Arcana Knight Joker can't be easily toppled, however. You'll find my trump card can't be trumped! Haha!" he set a card in the spell/trap zone face down.
"Here's a question for ya'...am I bluffin'? End turn!"

He looked to his deck and sighed."Alright, who knew my second turn could be my last. Here it goes." He drew and looked at the card. "Well alright, I play, POT OF GREED! and I think you know what that means. I'm gonna pick up two cards from my deck and add them to my hand." He then drew two cards and grinned."Well alright then, I'm gonna place one card face down and summon ELEMENTAL HERO STRATOS! Them I'm gonna use his ability which allows me to add one elemental hero from my deck and add them to my hand." Stratos emerged from the air and turned and looked at Eric." And I think I'm gonna grab elemental hero prisma." He then shuffled his deck. and I guess I'm gonna call it a turn." He awaited his opponate.

Ace grinned.
"I've been playing cards enough times to know a poker face when I see one." he said as he drew a card.
"Let's test the waters a little, shall we? Freed the Brave Warrior in attack mode!" The Light attribute Warrior hit the field with his cape flowing in the wind.
"Alright, Freed. Let's see what he's so delighted about! Attack that phony hero and wipe it out!" Freed dashed towards Elemental Hero Stratos with his sword drawn, 2200 Attack points backing him up.
